My Edge is in for it's second PTU seal replacement, it's been at the dealer for 12 days and when I just called they told me that they didn't have the part yet! We must have some other recourse besides all this waiting and then having to go back and have it done repeatedly. I'm in Pennsylvania and my Edge has just over 12K miles so I don't know if I will still be able to qualify for Lemon Law.

I'm Shocked...Shocked to discover that the first PTU seal repair didn't fix my Edge's problem. Burning smell returned in less that 24 hours, going back to the dealership to have them try it again, fa la la la la, la la la la.

I got my 2007 Edge back same day, they said they were now all over this problem. They replaced the PTU cover seal, passenger side PTU intermediate shaft seal, deflector(?) and replaced the dylithium crystals. OK, the last one was made up, we'll see if this fixes the problem or if I am heading back to the dealership like so many others on this forum. The dealership is Pacifico-Marple Ford in Broomall, PA, awesome dealership, great sales and service people. I will report back if problem comes back.

Hello to all, this is my first post after following the forum for many months. My 2007 Black Clearcoat Edge SEL is at the dealership today for the infamous burning smell, (Love it otherwise) tried to inform the dealership of all the info available online about the problem, they politely suffered my input. I will check back on the progress.
