Ok went to transmission ship today. Well, it's a mixed bag of results. First I found out ford has 3 sets of transmissions used in Edge. 1 was used by ford and gm, in the Saturn Vue (6t4). Second sets are 6t35 6t40 and 6t50 6t55. Now mine has the 6t50 I assume. So common problems are? Just a little heads up my edge isn't throwing any codes. Only dashboard light on is low air in tire. So mechanic says there isn't much he can do. Previous post was about 1 to 2 times a month it jerks hard in reverse and requires some extra gas to get going at normal speeds. Anyways this was a update was all.

Just bought mine used with 59,500 in January. First 6 months everything was good. Now last 2 months had this hard shift into reverse and 2 times it just seemed you had to mash pedal to get it to move. Then i turned it off and stsrted it back up, everything was fine. I did the typical things like ad transmission fluid and talk to a few mechanics. Now I am suspecting it's computer software upgrade, maybe a shift linkage problem or a sensor ....any ideas?
