  1. I know this is an old thread but I am facing this problem with my 2014 Edge. In my case, it is not that expensive to extend warranty 4 more years for about $1200.00. I put more years than miles on my cars. With all the "gadgets" on todays cars, there is always a chance something will fail. Everything is interconnected and could cost a bunch of money quickly. I believe in my case, it would be a good insurance policy. Has anyone had experience with Ford Protect extended warranty?
  2. Never mind, I found a pictoral on it. Took a lot of searching though.
  3. Does anybody have any ideas for removing an ignition switch mounted in the dash. not the steering column. Thought I would listen to lessons learned before attempting to remove it. Thanks.
  4. I have had a problem with Ford FOBS for years. They were all made the same and I was always setting off the panic alarm when moving around. I just quit keeping it in my pocket except when going to drive the vehicle. I kept them on a nail in the house. When I got the 2014 Edge with the FOB was part of the key, it was too big to comfortably carry in my pocket so continued to keep it on a nail in the house until needed. This has worked fine for me.
  5. It amazes me that Ford would have so many different wire harnesses for different options. no wonder they are so expensive. I would have thought it would be cheaper to use one harness and just tap in to the options used.
  6. Well, that didn't work out at all. The in-dash wire harness doesn't have the needed wires in it. Too much trouble replacing the harness or adding the wires. The wires are there from the drivers seat to the dash connector. But from the connector leading under the dash. the wires are missing. Now I know why a Ford garage won't touch converting to memory seats. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
  7. You may be correct but I'm just going by the figures indicated in KBB and NADA. Again it is trade-in value. They ignore when you bought the car and if there is still warranty and options installed. The local Ford dealer here said it sounded about right to him.
  8. Well, I have owned and driven a 1971 Mercury Cougar, 1972 Gran Torino, 1976 and 1981 Granada, 1986, 1990, 1995, 2001 and 2011 Crown Vic, 2007 Five Hundred, I have also had 1996, 2002 and 2010 Rangers. My Gran Torino was my favorite until I got this Edge. Now it is my favorite.
  9. I am in the process of converting my 10 way power drivers seat to a memory seat. I have done quite a bit of research and am looking into the availability and price of the parts required. I will let you know what I find.
  10. Boy did I have a rude awakening recently. I considered trading my 2 year old Edge in on a new 2017. After researching Kelly Blue Book (KBB) and National Automobile Dealers Assn (NADA) I found that a Ford Edge drops in value by about half the moment you drive it off the lot after purchasing it. This is for trade-in only not resale value. There was very little difference in a 1 month old and a 3 year old vehicle. I guess I will drive my Edge a few more years then trade it in on a year old vehicle. This is probably true for many vehicles not just the Edge. But that is all I checked.
  11. Just joined the forum but have had my Edge SEL AWD since March 2015. Have been driving for a lot of years and just had to say that the Edge made driving fun again. Have been driving a variety of new Fords since 1971 and none more enjoyable than my Edge.
