My dad called me at lunch and asked "IF" my car was in because he saw a blazing coper SEL w/ White plastic all over it. Well, got a hold of my rep and she went out there and low and behold it was my SEL which still shows STORAGE within the dealer network.

Will stop there tonight but I'll probably pick it up tomorrow.

I wish I knew when my SE would be delivered so I can see that one in person. That one still said STORAGE within the FORD NETWORK last week so is there any chance someone can check the vin number on my SE by tonight? 2FMDK36C37BA28779

If it will be here by Friday I would love to hold out due to the fact that it's slightly cheaper.

Cool! Anyone seen Creme Brule in person yet? If so, what do you think?

I think it should of been white. Creme Brule IMHO looks like a Lincoln color and I personally don't like it. But then again, you might think the Blazing Copper sucks and that is what I ordered. I just think the darker colors look better

Just ordered a new Edge today after a test drive in Hannibal, MO The Edge on the lot was a base model, but we enjoyed the fit and finish as well as the quiet drive. Also drove a loaded model (no Vista roof) at another dealer two days ago. The interior hard plastic comments I've read in a couple of reviews don't make too much sense to me. This is an inexpensive crossover model with loads of features, but no $50,000 price tag. We actually liked the simple clean lines of the interior, and thought the leather seats on the loaded car were comfortable, if not spacious.

 

It felt like a lot of bang for the buck, and lets me buy local.

 

This Edge will replace a Jeep Gr-Cherokee. Our other vehicle is a Ford Escape. My son drives a new Mustang.

 

We've owned several Toyotas and a Honda. Our local Ford dealer does a better job of customer service and the service department brings us back.

 

Any ideas on delivery time for new orders like mine?

You'll probably get yours before I get mine that was already built in November. Did they search the dealers to see what is available? Also, what did you order?

Just curious. Is this information "ONLY" available from within the network? Because my dealer is still showing both of them "In Storage". They and I both hope that the SEL is on its way. I'm just wondering why their system isn't updated.

The system is not "real time" so this one is on a train or semi somewhere HEADED TO YOUR DEALER!!!!

That would be great if the second one comes in because that's the SEL and I'm pretty sure that I'll be taking that... But, I am hoping the SE shows up by next week as well because I really want to know the difference between the models when I get up close and personal. The SEL is about $7.00 more than my explorer the SE is about $20 less. I know the seats up upgraded cloth on the SEL and the Mirrors, Spoiler and door handles are painted on the SEL and then I believe they have many other extras. Just not sure if I need these extras but I will decide when I see it.

Hi all,

Just got call from the dealer and the delivery of my brand-new blazing copper Edge with Vista Roof will be tonight!!!!! Too bad I can't pick it up until this Sunday but I think I can wait for few days. The one I got is not a factory order since factory order will take 4~6 WEEKS to actually get one, so they found one on the way to another dealer in B.C and switching with them but I have compromised with a black interior.

Roy O' Brian in St. Clair Shores, Michigan has a Black SE and a blazing copper SEL in the front. However, my Blazing Copper SEL is nowhere to be scene... DOH... Too bad the SEL they had has about $3000+ options more than what I ordered. Blazing Copper is really really beautiful.

How many threads are you going to post that question? My Edge is built and Ford has been saying "IN STORAGE" for over 4 weeks which is getting old. First thing you need to do is contact your saleman and tell him to search for your car. It will tell them "WHEN" it was built or "WHEN" it is scheduled to be built. I know mine is built but now I'm trying to figure out WHEN THE HECK THEY ARE GOING TO UNBURY IT so I can have it.

You would need the whole VIN# for it to work. I am laid off until 1/02/07, not sure if I will be around the plant to check, if you want you can PM me with the whole VIN if you don't want to post it. Then if I'm around work I could stop in and look it up for you, otherwise I would see if there is someone else on this site that is working tommorrow or over shutdown to look it up for you.

I have two vin numbers of vehicles that have been built but are MIA. Can someone check the status of them for me?

B/S. Tell him that YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO GET YOUR CAR IN NOVEMBER AND IT IS THE END OF DECEMBER. Tell them that you DEMAND YOUR DEPOSIT BACK or you will take them to small claims court, call the local news and call the BBB. Besides, they screwed you. My dealer only wanted $100 deposit to order my Edge SE. In fact, they ordered me an SEL almost the same w/ my name on it as well. If I called them tomorrow and told them to keep it they would mail me my deposit back immediately because they will be able to sell my car without a problem.

Now with that note. I ordered mine in August (I think) and a week before I placed my order my sales person took an order for an SEL w/ leather and a Vista Roof. Well, my orders were delayed to be built and moved for the week of Thanksgiving Delivery. Her's was moved until late december / early january and she wasn't too happy. Well guess what came in today before mine? Her customers SEL w/ Vista Roof which was ordered before mine.

So, if you really want it and they are giving it to you for what it should be sold for just wait a little longer because the Vista Roofs are already shipping.

Le véhicule est supposément dans une cour d'entreposage prêt à être livrer.

À Détroit une représentante de Ford m'a dit mardi dernier que c'était une question de quelques jours puisque mon véhicule était relâché de l'usine et confié à une compagnie de transport devant livrer mon véh. directement chez mon concessionnaire.

Ça fait 3x qu'on me donne une date de livraison et aucune de ces dates n'a été respecté.

27 novembre, 5 décembre et le 15 décembre.

 

Y a-t-il quelqu'un qui sait quelque chose ?

J'espère juste recevoir mon EDGE comme cadeau pour Noël !

Hello everyone, I just picked up my Carbon Edge SE FWD Friday. So far, all 110 miles, very nice. I've ownwd a lot of new Ford's, this one is so far, the most quiet inside. Very strong drive train. Exeeded my expectations.

I really like everything except the massive chrome grill. It doesn't look too bad in the pictures, but in person it is a bit excessive for my taste.

 

I'm no photoshop wiz, but I managed to cobble together this:

 

Since the grill is plastic, how difficult would it be to have it resprayed to match the body color? Anyone else with better photoshop skills care to give this a shot?

I like the chrome grill. I think it goes along the lines of "BOLD MOVES".

My favorite color is dark blue. Can anyone speculate as to why the Edge is not offered in any shade of blue?

I really don't care for blue personally but I agree why would you offer it in creme but not blue. Creme is way too Lincoln IMHO.

Units that were built and shipped out would have been placed in storage. As the built units start getting retrofitted it could take some time to locate your specific units. Retail orders do have number one priority on getting those done. But given the amount of them that made it out and the amount just parked, it could take some time to get everything sorted out. The goal is to have all the units built to dealers by February. Staff will be working on clearing out the lots everyday except Christmas. Unfortunately due to the number of units in limbo right now, traces won't be done on them.

Should I just tell them to order me another one?

Bill, do you have a retail order with a dealer currently? Retails are getting first priority for retrofits (the appearance changes and the Vista roof redos, panel measurement rechecks across body, don't believe all this hubbub about bad components, I've heard it all from suspension, to the new engines blowing up, to the trans sucking, etc) however, it might be quicker to submit a new retail order that'll be built in the third week of January and show up early February.

Yes, I have one SE retail order and they ordered an SEL in my name as well (They will just put the one I don't want on the lot). I have two vin numbers and they have both been built (I believe the 2nd and 3rd week in November). So, is there any reason to order another one?

All I want to know "is the front suspension problem fixed?" and "is the rear suspension fixed". I realize it's a brand new vehicle but I wouldn't want this kind of problem at 70 MPH on the freeway. These seem like major problems but most likely this was the cause of the delay?

Roy O'Brian Ford, St. Clair Shores, Michigan has a Edge SE in Creme Brulee. All I have to say is that it's beautiful and if I end up with an SE over the SEL I will be happy. However, that color IMHO sucks. Too Lincoln and should of not been offered on the Ford Edge. That color doesn't do it justice. However, I wasn't too impressed w/ the material they used on the seats and neither did my wife so we will most likely take the SEL because of the upgraded material.

I'm getting kind of excited however I just made my car payment so most likely I will not want it until the end of the month or the first week of January when my next payment is due.

WOW! Are you all in for a real treat. I've been in an Edge SEL Plus AWD for the past two days. Fully loaded. Blazing Copper with black interior. This vehicles has exceeded my expectations and the all new powertrain is simply fantastic. I know I know, this post is worthless without pics but I need to get home and find my camera USB cord and start downloading.

Where are you located? I got a call from my sales rep yesterday to say "we just got a SE in. However, it's a stock car". She just wanted to let me know that they are starting to arrive. Too bad the stock job wasn't Blazing Copper or I would of taken it.

Hopefully mine shows up fairly quickly.

I received my VIN number last Friday with an expected delivery date of Mid- January. Thank god I still have my Mazda as our second car. Will wait and see if it happens on time.
