    good morning andrea,

we received your pictures, thank you very much. i apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. unfortunately, i have just been informed, that they are no longer producing this item. we will credit your card in the full amount for $43.52 and you do not have to send the bumper pad back. you can just throw it out. thanks.

    Subject: Faulty Bumper Saver?

I purchased a Bumper Saver for my Ford Edge and when I was about to

install I noticed all the cracking and flacking of the top layer of

the plastic. Whatever the material might be, it is cracked and pieces

of it are coming off. Please let me know if I get a replacement that

it will not be like this one. I really like the thickness of it.

    Thank you.

And for those that buy a factory Ford bumper protector . Watch out on the install! Mine was off by about 1/8 " on the backing sheet . I taped down the alignment marked area and carefully peeled off the paper and started the install . When half way through putting it on I realized that even thought the front was aligned correctly the curve along the bumper was off a slight amount . It was too late for me to take it off . Its only a minor amount ,most people wouldn't even notice it . It just bugs me. If installing one measure the rear area also and then align and tape down the front corners to get a perfect install. I'm considering using  a heat gun and removing and putting another one on.

  2. I believe it has an anti-syphon design in the filler neck so the only thing to worry about is someone putting something IN the gas tank that shouldn't be there.

One unexpected problem with some aftermarket locking caps is leakage of pressure. Its usually enough to fail emissions testing . It will also set some check engine or check cap lights . Check a dealer for this item first ,its one of those times saving a few dollars might not be worth the hassle.

  3. Sweet!!!! stuff looks good, i showed my wife---she likes. Does the exhaust work with the AWD?

how does the tuner provide flatter cornering? i'm being a wiseguy>>>by the way

Nice . I saw lots of Steeda products and/or sponsorships fro Mustangs at the NASA Championships this year at Mid-Ohio . Great companies that support the enthusiast are always welcome. Hope to see some fantastic products for the EDGE now.

  4. Hi Ky Bob. :D You can purchase all of the necessary parts individually (i.e. fog lights, wiring harnesses, switches, bezels etc. etc.) from your Ford or Lincoln-Mercury Dealers Parts Department (if they are competent), or from various online sources such as Team Ford Parts Online. What you can not purchase from Ford is a single kit that has all of the necessary parts in it.

    Good luck. :beerchug:

PS - On a side note, I hope your screen name alludes to the fact that you are from Kentucky? :hysterical:

My question is if the dash harness plugs into the fog lamp equipt headlamp switch or if another harness piece is required there ? I have a set of bezels already from our body shop ,one perfect ,one with a few tolerable bubbles in the chrome. I plan to buy Depo brand copies of the OE lamps through our body shop and fabricate my own harness for the lamps ,I have the connectors . I just need to know if the dash is prewired.

  5. 2008 EDGE SE ,see sig below for options, (sadly no SYNC) but nice for close to base equipment. After the heavy discounts locally , $21,700 . Added Easycare to 75K and still out the door after down payment with a $370 mo payment for purchase ,not lease. The retail price on the window was $27, 025 before delivery cost etc.

  6. We were looking to replace my wifes FWD van . She liked the color ,style ,ride and features . I liked the price (Ford D plan ) and performance . We had 3 people at my work wanting our old ride ,so it all came together this past Monday . Love the size and features even for just being an SE with a few added ons. Already have the fog lamp bezels and rear bumper pad. Looking to see if I'll use factory fogs and switch or add another switch with aftermarket lamps.

  7. thanks. I really think with these open Premium Painted rims they really work well. The ones I have seen on the chrome clads, not so much as they cover the calipers much more.

thanks! this one was cheap, yet looks like more than it is and not yet cheezy

What color caliper paint against 2008 Light Ice Blue with 18" silver painted 10 spokes? I'm considering G2 Blue ( mid-Navy) or Duplicolors Med Blue(brush on kit) if not just silver painted so they look finished.

  8. my 2007 ford edge sel plus awd with 18 inch chrome clad wheel all started peeling around all 4 rims. called the dealorship and was replaced with no question...

anyone know if the chrome mirror from the lincoln mkx fits on the edge../?

anyone know where to get the chrome window sill mold for a 2007 edge? (all 4 pieces per side)

The chrome mirror caps can be purchased alone from dealer I've been told.

  9. Does anyone know how to improve the braking performance? I think its one of the few weak areas of my Edge. At first it seemed weaker than I would like, but seems to have improved as the miles go by...but..I know there are various high performance ways people improve braking, just wondering if there are any not-too-terribly-expensive options I could explore. Thanks! :burnout: JEN

These vehicles are so new there are only a few choices in brake pads that I've found and no REAL performance products in the brake arena. My belief is that within 1-2 yrs someone like EBC , Mintex or Hawk will come out with a good street pad ,but it will just be a waiting game. I'm sure something will appear since the Edge also shares some platform pieces with the Mazda CX-7 and Mazda6 as well as the Lincoln. Performance springs are already available and few people realize that a good spring set can shorten braking distance as well ,so that is a future consideration also. The only other improvement I could see is a larger front rotor and respace the caliper outwards . The larger the wheels on your EDGE ,the more the braking will be deminished ,due to the moment of enertia being altered as the tire/wheel weight gets farther out from the rotational axis. Moving the caliper outwards on a larger rotor would have a greater braking effect and still allow the stock pad style to be used .Braided brake lines are already available but there is debate on them making much change other than feel . I believe they do help in a very small way but aren't going to make enough difference in distance.

  10. I'm in NE Ohio ,the Akron /Cleveland area . In the local paper I can see three area dealers giving discounts like I stated above.

Yes ,discounts can vary by region so that should be taken into consideration. I did state in my comment from the start that I didn't know why you didn't get more discounts ,but in my area of OH that this is what I've been seeing . Thats why I didn't buy a Chevy from my own dealership (place of employment) but instead took delivery tonight from one of the Ford franchises our dealed group owns.

  11. Thanks for your quick reply:

    1) There is $1,800 in incentive

    2) Yes this is the last penny to drive out the door

    3) Rate is 0% for 60 mo

The car is on the lot. The zip is 61550 and the VIN# is 2FMDK39C08BB41523.

    Thanks again!!

Not sure why you didn't get more discount . Most of Ohio is giving about $3500 to $4000 discount total on 2008 models for starting to clearance them. I think $2750 in rebates were available from Ford alone. I'd price shop another dealer , look in you local paper and see who is the heaviest discounter.

  12. The EDGE feels huge when I jump out of it and into the CX-7, I sat in an Acadia( wow the panel alignment was worse than in my EDGE ) and it also had a smaller feel to it. The EDGE has an airy feeling to make people feel smaller or for wider frames I guess.

I work in GM dealer but we have a Ford store . I would never consider an Aztek . My wife will get her new Edge within the next week ,waiting on withdrawal of some investments to get the papers final . Drove it and we both fell in love with it . We considered an Equinox but couldn't find a cloth interior locally so went with the EDGE SE . My wife can't stand leather seats ,but at least that means she doesn't drive my Audi much. I'm also an Audiworld forum and Nissan forum member. I hope to be able to find some good resources here and offer my knowledge from 25+ yrs in the parts and service business . We have 17 makes available in our company and its to Ford's credit we decided to buy another of their products after 12 yrs of no blue ovals in my garage.
