  1. This will be our second Edge we have had our 2007 since January.
  2. I ordered mine at the end of July. I have a VIN and supposedly a build date of the 1st of October. We will see if it actually gets built in that time frame. AWD Limited Vapor Silver Trailer Tow Interior Appearance Package (Red seat inserts and stitching etc.) All Weather Floor Mats Roof Rack Side Rails Rear Cargo Mgt. Sirius Sync DVD Navigation 20" Wheels No Kids, so I passed on the rear DVD entertainment stuff. My Wifes 2007 Edge has the BAMR so I opted to pass and get more toys instead (Sync, Nav, Sirius) I also passed on the Power Lift gate. I have no problems with opening the 2007. I am actually surprised to see so many of us opting for the 20" wheel package. After reading about so many folks "poo pooing" them.... I figured if I was going to do the Interior package, I had to do the wheels.. more Bling! LOL
  3. Are you talking about a 2008? If so when did you order it? I also have a 2008 on order, but have not called for a status yet.
  4. If you are asking about removing the Mirror from the windshield on the Edge, to do it without breaking the glass, either take it to a Glass Shop (they will have the special tool) or spend $10 and get the tool. It is a two pronged flat blade thing that slides up between the mount and the mirror. I tried it without the tool, using a small screwdriver to pry the spring... and broke the windshield. All this to put in a new Mirror with External Temp Display. ps. If you want the tool search E-Bay or Google for: "KD AutoTool 3434 Ford Rear View Mirror Removal Tool "
  5. Yes without a doubt. With the Dual Electronic Climate Control... it has a display option to show External Temperature. If you DON'T have Dual Electronic Climate Control... you will not have External Temp display anywhere without an after market solution.
  6. You will ONLY have the External temp on the Electronic Climate Control System. The standard AC omits it. You will NOT have it in the dash. We added a Compass, Ext Temp, Mirror to replace the stock one just so the wife would have the Ext Temp.
  7. "This feature lets the driver put the key in the ignition, turn it once and then let go – like electronic “start” buttons that are becoming common on luxury cars."
  8. Where did you "Spec" out the 2008?
  9. I just recently did the same exact thing. I installed a Homelink, Compass, Temp, auto dimming mirror. The connector that is just hang there is the factory connector for the dimming mirror. The new mirror you have uses a different connector and has its own harness. The reason they can't tuck it up into the headliner (or at least easily) is the wires for the compass pod come down the same harness. The compass still needs to remain plugged in to feed your info center. If you were to unplug it you get a constant error on your info center display. What I did with mine is took the connector apart and fed the factory wires up thought the loom and brought my homlink wires back down through. My factory wires and connector are tucked up in the headliner. Mine looks stock, but it took a lot of work to do the wires that way. By the way, I hate to admit it, but I ALSO broke the windshield trying to remove the factory mirror. I even had the special Ford tool, it just would not come off, next thing ya know, CRRRAAACCCKKKKK. The new windshield came from Ford with the Mirror Nub already glued to it. So my near $400 mirror cost another $250 after the insurance deductible. Blech. If you take a close look at it, and are handy you could fix it, but again... it is a bunch of work... and you need to be handy with wiring and be capable to take the connectors apart. If you don't plan on putting a stock mirror ever back in it, you could clip off the connector and tape up all the ends of the wires, tuck them into the loom, then they won't bother you. Be careful though, you do have +12V and Ground, along with +12V when in reverse... if you let those wires ground out, you will blow a 10amp fuse down near the drivers floor well fuse panel. (I know because I blew it... LOL) Good Luck, sorry for the book.
  10. I guess I just assumed it was not muting at all, I will check it closer to see if it mutes slightly. I have looked through both the settings in in the info center and within the stereo and have not come across anything that seems to address it.
  11. My wifes 2004 Explorer and my 2004 F150 both have/had reverse sensing. They both had the Audiophile stereo. When the reverse sensing started to beep, the radio would mute down to a much lower volume. Our new 2007 Edge with reverse sensing and also having the Audiophile does NOT mute down the audio. So if your music is even remotely loud, you can't hear the reverse beeps. Is this working as it should?
  12. If you already have the audiophile system with sub woofer, can you easily utilize the factory sub? What about amps, do you know if the Audiophile uses any kind of external amp for the sub, or is it all in the head? And if so, how hard is it to get output from one of the Pioneers to the sub? Thanks in advance, Rayo
  13. How about some more info. Where to buy, pictures of what they look like????
  14. I am going to contact Mtio (they are local to me here in Indiana) and see if they have a Mirror that would have Homelink, Ext Temp, Dimming but still allow the compass to provide info to the Info Center. Of course all this will minimal wiring. Will have to run the External temp sensor to the front, but the rest of the wiring should already be going to the current mirror (or at least one would think).
  15. As I mentioned we do NOT have the electronic climate control. Thus no button or display. :shades:
  16. Just received our new SEL Edge. We ordered it with all the options my wife wanted. She does not like leather, so of course it limits what you can get. She really loves everything except... even with all the info provided in the "Info Center" there is no External Temperature Display. She has had this for years in her Explorers either in the mirror or in the display on the dash and really, really misses it. It appears the only way it would have been available was via ordering the Electronic Climate control, which adds leather.. thus no deal. Sooo I was thinking of adding the HomeLink/Temp/Compass mirror the Mito makes, same one available from "Ford Accessories". My concern is wondering what happens to the compass reading in the Info Center? Had anyone considered adding one of these? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
