I wish to send my thanks and to congratulate all the folks at the Oakville plant. I picked my carbon SEL plus w/ BAMR tonight. It is fantastic! The look, feel, fit and finish just make you feel like you are in a high quality vehicle. This is the kind of vehicle Ford should be having you make. NO MORE BORING BOXES and BLOBS (five-hundred). My wifes comment was that the leather interior with the contrast stitching looked, smelled and felt like an expensive handbag. Coming from her, that's a huge compliment. (she's had some REALLY expensive bags) Another kudos to whoever decided to put the customer's name on the sticker for ordered vehicles. This used to happen back in the 90's, I think it personalizes the transaction and creates a feel like you folks built the vehicle just for us. Take a moment to pat each other on the back, keep up the good work. I know there are a lot of anxious people awaiting their Edge. Thanks again, Curt

Congrats, I know you have been waiting about as long a I have. I picked mine up tonight. It is absolutely beautiful. I ordered the carbon SEL plus with the charcoal leather interior, 18" chrome wheels and the BAMR. I have put about 23 miles on it since picking it up, still trying to figure out how everything works. Forget about the wait, it's over, enjoy your new car. by the way, keep the SEL, the additional features are worth it.

Got a call from my dealer yesterday, picking up my Edge tonight. He had called last week to tell me the ship date was 1/5/07, but it came a little early. Ordered Mid Sept. 2006

Finally saw & got to test drive one here in Fort Wayne, IN. It was a redfire SE. Pretty plain as far as options, but it was at least here and I was able to test drive. I would agree with other people who have classified the ride as "comfortable" very smooth and quiet. I like the driver seat alot, very good side support. I wouldn't say you're going to win any slalom races. When turning you can tell that it is a fairly heavy vehicle. The steering was precise and tracked well, but in back and forth turns you can feel the weight of the vehicle. Brake was fine, during my test drive, I did have the occasion to hit the brakes pretty agressively - another idiot on a cell phone - that's another topic, the brakes reacted well. After finally driving one, makes me feel good about my order. My salesperson told me that ship date on mine is scheduled for 1/5/07. The Lincoln_Mercury dealer next door to the ford dealership received a black MKX with BAMR, fairly loaded. I may go over to check it out tomorrow.

I'm in toledo, oh for the holidays, have seen 3 Edges at local dealers Dune Pearl Metallic - yuck, Creme Brulee - yuck and a black one. Also saw a black MKX with BAMR - very sharp except for the grill. I would like to have seen the MKX with a variation of the MKZ grill - would have been very cool.

c'mon guys, anybody else spot any edges yet? We know from the above posts that they have made their way into the states, I was hoping that this thread would help give everyone an idea how fast their distribution is taking place. Maybe the majority are being shipped by rail and are not immediately visible.

Got a call from my salesman this morning. He has a VIN assignment for my order. Order was placed on Sept. 19, 2006. He does not as yet have an estimated delivery date. He did say they received an invoice on another Edge, so he expects delivery soon on that particular model, he said as soon as any arrive, he will call and I can go see/drive one.

With the shipments beginning, we should play a form of I spy. If you see a shipment of Edges on a truck or at a dealership, call out where and when. Sadly, I can't start it off, no sign as yet here in fort wayne,IN

Anyone here that's an employee at OAC - how do the colors look now that production has begun. I ordered a Carbon Metallic Edge and without seeing the color in person, I was interested in your opinions of the colors you've seen. Thanks

I was thinking we may have seen some commercials for the Edge this last weekend. Since it's now October I thought the advertising push would begin. Does anyone know what the marketing plans are for TV/print media and when they will begin? I saw the MKX in a Lincoln commerical - they show it for about 2 seconds, but it was an all Lincoln commercial, not model specific. Thanks

c'mon guys, for your neigbors to the south, keep us informed on what's going on. I don't understand all the players being discussed in the previous posts. If you're going to be doing nothing while on strike, at least post some info so we know what's happening. And by the way, hurry up and build my Edge. :P
