  1. Hey guys and gals, I saw Lildisco's post about his 2.0 Ecoboost and yes that looks different from anything I have even gotten out of a catch can on any vehicle. He is in a colder climate and even though I have been in temps of around the 20's where I live, I have never had anything like this. There could be many reasons for that, and I would ask Vinny about that because he is even more knowledgeable than myself in this area. He did say that because the RXP catch can is so remotely isolated from the PCV system the differences in temperature can cause exactly what you are seeing here. With the JLT can being so close I have never seen anything like this. Temperatures from the engine to the can are very close so this is not a normal issue. Again speak with the Vinny guy. I checked my can the other day after a few hundred miles and nothing yet. I will keep an eye on it as I travel to Texas before I head out for a few months for work. I hope this system helps everyone who installs it. It is well worth the money, but if you decide to cough up the dough for the RXP system, I wish you good luck. I've never had a reason to go that deep on any car, but do what is comfortable for you. Enjoy your Edge's and have a safe summer all. Cheers, Howie
  2. Thanks for the clarification Vinny. I know that installing two cans on an NA engine, such as the Boss 302 and GT350 I had were easy and straight-forward. The Eco-boost engines are far from being simple, and as stated the sensor on the clean side makes things a little iffy. I have to agree that installing a catch can system of any brand is better than nothing at all, however for me simple is better and a lot less involved. I've used the JLT cans on enough of my vehicles to know they are well made, easy to maintain and do the job. I doubt anyone will argue that once they install the JLT unit and realize not only did they save a buttload of money, but it's just so easy to empty. Heck I think I just sold myself on one and I already have one. Good luck everyone. Cheers Howie
  3. Hi to snmjim and to enigma-2. The can size that JLT now offers is the 3 oz as opposed to the older 1 oz they used to do. It is substantially larger even though it doesn't sound like much. I too was going to ask him about a CAI, however with me putting the vehicle away for quite awhile I just don't have the need at this time. Hell by the time I get back from traveling it may be time to trade in for a new Alfa Stelvio Quadrifoglio. I wanted one this time around however it wasn't available yet. If that happens I'll be posting my 2018 with less than 2000 miles on the clock. I'll keep everyone informed in the event that happens. In answer to enigma-2's questions- the oil catch can is not a permanent or invasive addition to the engine, and in fact will not hamper in any way how the engine performs. It will not alter the ECU and will not throw any codes. Even if it were an issue it can be removed and the OEM hose installed in less than 20 minutes. I've had my Boss and GT350 at the dealership when both cans were installed and I never had any issues. This is not however a California CARB approved device, so not sure how they would treat it. Either way it will not change any of the engine characteristics. It is just catching oil as it passes through it's normal route via the PCV system. Again I divert questions to the main man Vinny. I hope the images I uploaded earlier allowed everyone to see just how simple this is to install. Good luck to all and enjoy. Cheers, Howie
  4. I need to clarify the last post. The Boss 302 and GT350 are high output engines, however they have not, in my experience with them, produced any significant amount of oil in the catch cans on either side. The passenger side did have some, however I never saw any in the driver's side. Sorry about that. Yes forced-induction engines would tend to produce more blow-by, and maybe some owner's notice more than others. As a whole I can't say how much that might be as I did not install one into my 2016 Lariat F150 with 3.5 Eco-boost since I didn't have it for very long. That could have been an issue down the road, however I just didn't address it. My badd. Howie
  5. Those two vehicles even though they do not have forced-induction still produce quite a lot of blow-by. JLT are already producing and selling a kit like this for the Explorer 3.5 EcoBoost as well as the F150 versions. These also only require the passenger side kit. They do a great job of explaining this on their website if interested. The Boss 302 and GT350 are both high output engines and even though both sides are offered, only really requires the passenger side. If anyone really feels the need to have the driver's side can then I will ask Vinny if he will do a fitment for that as well. In the grand scheme of things if people aren't going to buy it then there would be no point in offering it. Maybe if we can get an idea of the interest that would help a lot. Cheers, Howie
  6. Hey 1004ron, I just posted my ummm post. I hope it helps. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. I am here to assist if the assistance is wanted. Cheers, Howie
  7. Howdy folks, So here I am with an update to the JLT oil catch installation. I hope I don't get anyone riled up here because I am just trying to help. Please don't hurt me!!! So I received mine yesterday and had it installed in less than 15-ok 20 minutes. And that was including me going to take a wee. I am attaching images as well. I do however want to address some concerns that were brought up by Xtra and others. I am addressing each of those points from his post dated 10 May. There are those who may question why so many folks feel the JLT system will work better even though it only addresses one side of the engine. It has been explained before, however this is not an issue that is new, or that has not been dealt with in the past. JLT have in fact tested their system in numerous vehicles on the clean side as well as the dirty side. Sure, some engines may require a can on the clean side, however that would largely depend on how that vehicle is used-or abused. Again, I have installed dual JLT cans on two of my high performance Mustangs and never saw a single drop on the clean side even after thousands of miles of driving. Neither of those engines had any sign of oil or vapor intrusion on the driver's side. If it were necessary or if it were an issue then it would have been addressed. I've installed oil catch cans on other high performance vehicles as well because it is an important item to have. If you are still unsure and have questions I would say to contact Vinny and have him explain that for you. So here goes... 1. The RX can is a four chamber system. OK. The JLT is also a multi-stage unit as well. If you need to know how many ask Vinny. The entire point of the oil separator, or oil catch can system is to catch the oil vapors as they pass through the PCV system, and trap whatever oil is inside that vapor to drop it into the can at the bottom before it is recirculated back into the engine. (WHEW). Here is a simple description of how the JLT system works. This is directly from their website. Pretty simple really. Filtering consists of a fine mesh stainless steel screen that traps fine oil vapors and releases them once heavy enough to fall. They then pass through a 1/2" thick 1/16th" aluminum honeycomb filter where they grow every larger and then fall into the bottom. By the time the oil gets through the filter it's too heavy to be passed on into the intake. The tank holds 3 oz of fluid, while that may not sound like a lot, you shouldn’t see that much oil in your PCV system. Drain it every 2000-3000 miles and you will never come close to filling it. 2. The RX is a very large can and holds more so you don't have to service it as often. OK again. Here's the thing. That can, no matter how big it is can only hold as much oil as the PCV system can release into it. How often are you expecting to empty it? Prior to JLT releasing the 3 oz can over a year ago I installed two of the smaller cans on my Boss 302. The can on the driver's side was virtually empty, and the one on the passenger side might release half an oz. over a two month period of driving. This was a high output 5 liter Boss engine. I had the newer 3 oz cans on my 2016 GT350 and the same thing happened. Not much if anything on the driver's side, however with the new 3 oz can I would empty about the same amount as the Boss 302, but now in a larger can. Unless you are driving the crap out of your vehicle and putting it through some serious abuse, you will never fill it up unless there are major issues with your engine. This means the RX system with it's large can can go forever and ever and ever. Does that mean you'd just be lazy and not empty it because you assume it won't need to be emptied? For the purpose of this system, the RX kit is severe overkill and really just unnecessary. And very complex in the grand scheme of things. On another note I have read where some folks have experienced a foamy residue as well as the oil. This is in part due to the can being remotely mounted. Talk to Vinny and he can explain just why that happens. It has to do a whole lot with temperature differences. 3. The RX has a ball valve and a drain hose. The other you have to disassemble to empty. Really? The JLT can is securely mounted to the vehicle so when you unscrew the can it takes all of a few twists of the wrist and it is in your hand. Just empty the oil inside the can and thread it back onto the mount. It's a NO_BRAINER I PROMISE. This means there are no valves or hoses to fiddle with. It's a one handed operation that takes seconds to complete. Just make sure you tighten the can against the rubber 'O' ring. 4. The RX has a CSS Clean Side Separator the other does not. Absolutely correct. The thing is there is no point in even having the 'CLEAN' side addressed in these vehicles because there just isn't an issue with it. As I mentioned previously, the clean side is the driver's side, which never had any oil even on my Boss 302 or GT350. If you were tracking the vehicle, and again abusing the crap out of it regularly, then maybe, just maybe you might need to address it. However the amount of oil you would see would be negligible. So to address this concern-THERE IS NO POINT... Now if someone decided they wanted a can on the driver's side then I am confident Vinny would be more than happy to take care of that issue for you. It would use the very same can, however the hoses would be different, but with the same quick-disconnects. 5.The RX costs more. A lot more. A whole lot more... Enough said. 6.The RX does fit nice but because the RX can is larger there are less places to mount it than the other in the tight Edge Sport engine compartment. When I saw how the RX can was mounted it really bothered me. It sits cramped against the battery and partially obstructs the air filter cover. My other issue is what would happen if any of those fittings or hoses were to fail and there was enough hot oil to spray onto the battery? We all know what happens when petroleum products and spark/fire are mixed together. Not pretty. Sure that may be a far-fetched situation, but what happens when your'e throwing your Edge around a track or putting it through it's paces, and say you decide because you have a really big can it isn't necessary to empty it as often, and a fitting or hose fails? Is that a chance your'e willing to take? It's just a question. I overthink things maybe, but this is important to consider no matter how remote the possibility... It's all relevant. I am an aircraft avionics engineer and a pilot. I always, ALWAYS err on the side of safety over all else. I have designed systems for various European sports cars over the years and it doesn't matter what that system is, the design has to be sound and safe. Whether driving the family mini van or a hyper super car-SAFETY ALWAYS COMES FIRST!!! The fact the RX unit sits against the battery is a design flaw plain and simple. It is after-all a remotely mounted system which means they might as well have mounted it at the bottom of the engine bay because the hoses are so freaking long. Can you imagine how long it takes for any vapors to reach that can and then to do it's job? I am only bringing any of this up because of how large the can is and where it is located. For me simple is better if it works better. Once you actually look at the OEM hose on the Edge and see how short it is, and then how short the JLT hose is , it will all make sense. Clean and simple. I can't stress this enough. And yes I know there will be the folks who have purchased the RX system and back it up to the end of days. That is fine. The fact there wasn't anything else available meant that you did what you had to do to protect the engine. I applaud everyone who did that because it shows you care about the vehicle. At the end of the day it's what you feel comfortable with, and well, how much money you have to spend. If you have the RX system installed, unless you can sell it I don't know that I would remove it because it's done. But if your'e contemplating which system to buy, look at the pros and cons of each one and do the math. If push comes to shove we can have Vinny do the driver's side can and together you'd still save between $200-300 over the RX system. Now how many oil changes can you buy with that I ask? OK, I am finished here. To clarify things-I am not and have never been in business or ca-hoots with JLT. I have just installed enough of their products over the years to know a good product. Vinny has ALWAYS taken care of me and answered my questions. My philosophy has always revolved around customer service. Even if the product is poopoo, if the customer service is great then they will take care of it. In this case the customer service and the product are great. It's really all I can say. To know your vehicle is protected and the product is simple and easy to maintain, AND it works-then what else is there to do? Good luck to everyone and please take a look at the attached images. In just a little over two weeks I will be on the road traveling for work for an extended period of time. My brand new Edge Sport with it's brand new JLT oil can will be parked inside a garage in Texas, and boy do I not like that. Be safe everyone and please don't chastise me for writing such a long and drawn out post. I am just very detail-oriented and that carries over in my writing. Back in the day my business and vehicles were in car magazines from the USA to Europe, and I wrote most of the stories. Boy those were the days. Take care. Howie
  8. Hey snmjim, I'll give that a shot now. Thanks a bunch.
  9. Hi 1004ron, I am ready to add a pretty detailed 'OIL Catch Can' post, however don't know how to upload the images. Also your argument for a more expensive product just because you assume a lesser expensive product won't work is really premature. If you aren't knowledgeable about the issue that's ok, but don't assume that more expensive means better. I have a lot of experience with these oil catch cans and the JLT system is not only simple, but works very, very well. And it just happens to be a lot less expensive than the other option. You don't have to trust my knowledge, do the research for yourself. The much more expensive option in this case addresses a concern that well, just isn't a concern for this particular vehicle. Everyone is allowed to purchase what they want, but not comparing and/or doing your homework many times means wasting a lot of time and money needlessly. I originally chimed in about this to give people an explanation and hopefully an option. I was able to get Vinny at JLT to get this kit completed in a very short amount of time. If nothing else please read the reviews, and look at the product on the many websites that sell it. Summit Racing and many others offer it because it works-not just because it is cheap... Why make something difficult if it doesn't have to be? This is actually Rocket Science in a can. A 3 oz. can mind you. I apologize as I just want folks to be informed so they can make the best possible choice for their particular situation. I will leave it at that. Sorry if I came off as a dingo-ball. I've just built enough engines and raced enough to know what works. Crap there I go again. Nuff said. Howie
  10. Hey everybody, I just finished a post to end all posts concerning the JLT oil can install, however since I am a weener I don't know how to attach the images. Can someone give me some guidance so I can upload and post? Many cheers and thanks. Howie
  11. Hey snmjim, Thanks for stepping up to the plate and am sorry you guys weren't able to get to Vinny in-person. He mentioned the drive was 3 or 4 hours or something like that, and that he was able to secure a vehicle from the local Ford dealership. I guess the upside for you guys is you didn't have to drive a day to do a mock up that took not a lot of time. At the end of the day there is a very nice alternative to the other system that is reasonably priced, high quality, and easy to install. I am happy I was able to help with this. I know how expensive these things can be and I am glad about the end result. Now I get to install one and enjoy it just like everyone else. I am more than happy to assist where I can, so please don't hesitate to contact me if the need arises. I will be traveling for work for an extended period of time, however I will have a laptop with me. Sadly I won't be driving the Edge Sport so it will be parked in my ex's garage until I return. Sure I will have her go out once in a while and wreak havoc on ALL sports cars large and small. It's the least I can do. Another just kidding moment...
  12. Hi folks, I have been speaking with Vinny at JLT over the past week and he has finished the oil catch can for the Edge Sport. I don't know how long it will take to get them into the inventory, but he did say several owner's have already placed orders. They already have the cans as they are the same 3 oz. units they install on many other applications, however the tubing is the main difference. The fittings are OEM quick release and the installation should take even a novice less than 30 minutes. It should take much less than that, however the engine cover does need to be removed, which is held in-place by two 10mm bolts. I will have mine in a few days and will upload images as well. I also wanted to comment about the whole oil catch can issue because it seems there are a number of forum members who may not know exactly what is involved with this very important piece of equipment. I won't go into the details of how it works as there are forum members who have explained it well enough. JLT explains it on their website as well, and doing a google search will also get your questions answered. Owner's who have spent over $300 and some in excess of $500 are understandably upset for thinking they needed to install such a complicated system. This particular system is just unnecessary for all but a few owner's who might track or race their vehicle. For the other 90% it is overkill and a huge waste of money. The JLT kit is very user-friendly and as mentioned above is very easy to install, and very easy to service. Please don't misunderstand me-I am not stating in any way that the other system doesn't work. I'm just stating that it is unnecessary in this application. I have purchased these JLT kits for my 2012 Boss 302 and my 2016 Shelby GT350 and it took less than 10 minutes on each of those vehicles to install. I installed the driver side and passenger side catch cans, however the driver side rarely catches much oil, if any at all. I installed them mostly as a precaution as I was tracking the cars. The passenger side it where the bulk of the oil is caught, and this is true as well for the Edge Sport. Therefore JLT is only selling the passenger side can at this time. I would assume if someone wanted one for the other side Vinny would build one up for you. You would need to speak with him of course. To clarify some things about these cans, they are not just a piece of billet aluminum with a tube going in one side and another tube going out the other. These cans have very fine mesh screens and filters to allow the oil vapors to settle in the bottom of the can as larger oil droplets. The vapors inside a PCV system carry oil and moisture and can damage an engine over time. For forced-induction engines these cans are even more important. The reason the JLT system is so inexpensive is because the tubing is very short and mounts closer to the engine than a remote system. This means less cost for materials and a cleaner install as well. These cans are not low-quality pieces either. The hoses are molded to fit each specific application and have the OEM quick release connectors as well. I have no affiliation with JLT other than having purchased several of their systems for my high-performance vehicles over the years. The products are easy to install and work great. You can find their kits on-line at almost every performance shop because they work. The system I installed on my C63 AMG was much more involved, but worked the same way. It was not a JLT product because JLT works predominantly with American made vehicles. I have purchased other oil catch can kits for other vehicles and had to customize the rubber hoses, which only used standard metal hose clamps. Sure they worked ok, but JLT has gone to a lot of trouble to make their kits easy to install and easy to maintain. I contacted Vinny because he and his engineers do great work, and they want to offer the best products for their customers at a fair price. When I spoke with him last week he told me he had posted several messages on various Edge forums, but had very little interest so they didn't pursue the kits. When I posted here a little over a week ago, I stated he would offer a free system to someone if they would bring their vehicle in to have the mock up done. Someone did in fact contact Vinny but they just were not able to make the drive for whatever reason. Vinny was finally able to get an Edge Sport into their shop and complete the work. He told me he has posted images on Facebook and then contacted me to let me know the status. Several people have already placed orders, and as stated earlier I ordered a kit as well. Once I have it installed I will post images. I have not posted on any other Edge forums concerning the JLT system, but I can assure you now that it is being sold it will spread pretty quickly. Vinny will be listing it on their site soon and I urge everyone to take advantage of this very well-built and easy to install system. Although the other system addresses the issues with oil blow by, it just isn't necessary for this vehicle on a day to day basis. Also I am NOT saying in any way that that system isn't a good system. That isn't for me to say as I haven't used one. What I am saying is the JLT system is a very good system and doesn't address issues that aren't necessary. At the end of the day if you have questions please feel free to call Vinny and ask questions. He is more than happy to answer them for you. Ask him about other vehicles as they do sell a Base kit with billet aluminum can and various nylon fittings with mounting brackets. I saw a need for a simple solution to a major problem for the Edge Sport, and I contacted someone who I knew could build a kit. They did that and they made it happen in less than a week. Sometimes all you have to do is ask. Now all I need to do is get a big, fat front splitter and a snorkel hood scoop made and all will be perfect... I'm just kidding. Happy Motoring to all Howie
  13. I have been told by Vinny at JLT that he is supposed to pick up a 2015 Edge next week so they can work on the oil catch can system. I'll keep everyone in the loop with any updates.
  14. Hey folks. I received an email from Vinny earlier stating that someone from the forum has already contacted him about bringing their vehicle to JLT for a fitting. I wish I was in the area, however I am on the other side of the country and unable to do that at this time. So with that being said I truly hope someone does get to JLT soon, which would mean that everyone will be able to install a very high quality oil catch can without having to take out a bank loan or borrow from their kid's college fund in order to purchase one. I wish someone would have contacted JLT when they reached out to the forum looking for a vehicle to build the system from. I sent images of my 2.7 to Vinny earlier as well and with there being so much to see, he decided to wait until he could see a vehicle in-person. I was going to purchase a can and just run it myself, but I will wait and see when someone gets to him with a vehicle. I, as a builder, designer, technician and just all-round car guy wanted to do whatever I could to help folks with a reasonably priced kit that was not difficult to install. JLT are very good in that department so I'm crossing my fingers that this goes forward without too much issue. If you have any questions contact me and I will see what the status is. Take care all. Cheers, Howie
  15. Hi to everyone, I wanted to comment on the issue of the oil catch can since it seems to be a little confusing to some owners. However at the same time I am also commenting on my experiences with this issue as I have installed various catch cans on a number of vehicles over the years. The main point at the end of the day is that 'YES' this is a VERY IMPORTANT piece of equipment to install into your vehicle whether it is turbocharged, supercharged or normally aspirated. They do an amazing job of keeping residual oil from being introduced back into the engine where it doesn't belong and causing major damage. I have installed catch cans on my 2012 Boss 302, 2016 Shelby GT350, 2014 SRT Jeep Grand Cherokee, and my 2013 W204 C63 AMG. The only one that cost an arm and a leg was the unit for the AMG. It was a truly beautiful piece of kit and was built to very high standards. The catch cans I installed into the Boss 302 and GT350 were JLT pieces, and were so easy to install it just wasn't even funny. They offer a catch can for both the driver and passenger side, and come in black anodized or polished aluminum. Plus JLT do a very good job with their catch cans. I highly recommend them, which brings me to my next point. The JLT units are also very well-made and of very high quality. All you do to empty the oil residue is unscrew the bottom of the can and empty it. You then screw it back on and your'e done. I have a good relationship with JLT as I have purchased a number of their products. I contacted Vinny at JLT this morning and he told me the only reason they haven't completed a kit for the 2.7L Ecoboost is because they need a vehicle for a day as a template to tweek the hoses and put the kit together. The great thing about the JLT kits I have installed is they all have direct connect OEM fittings. This means you pop off the OEM hoses and pop on the new ones with the oil catch can. You mount the can and it's done. Also ALL of their catch cans are billet aluminum and hold 3 oz of oil. You just don't need anything bigger. Also there is no reason to plumb the cans to every part of the PCV system. That is one reason for the water and gunk that is coming out of so many of the current kits some folks have installed. Being a remote kit is a huge issue because the hoses are so long and temperature differences then play a part as well. The JLT catch cans are mounted close to the engine so this isn't a major concern. I am being told that once a vehicle is in their facility they will put it all together and then sell the kits. The great thing here is whoever will supply their vehicle for this initial design visit will get the kit for free. They are located in Chesapeake, Virginia. If anyone is interested you can contact Vinny directly and work out the details with him. I am not in the area or I would do it myself. The reason I am suggesting JLT is because their cans are all billet aluminum and all hoses have quick disconnect OEM style fittings. Vinny has reached out to several of the Edge forums, however nobody seems to be interested. For $139 or thereabouts for the kit I would imagine there would be a huge amount of owners wanting to make this happen. I am truly stumped at why manufacturers don't install these catch cans from the factory because it would save them a huge amount of money in repairs over time. However that is a discussion for a different time. Right now I am trying to get these done for folks who don't have $400 or $500 to spend on an item that is necessary. I am not saying anything negative about the kit folks are using now, but to be fair they are stating they are the ONLY company in the USA building a billet aluminum oil catch can, and that just is not true. JLT have been manufacturing these oil catch cans for a long time and have it down to an art. I urge everyone to consider this opportunity and contact Vinny at JLT. He will work with you to set up a time and date and get this thing going. He only needs one Edge 2.7 to get this rolling. To contact Vinny at JLT Performance, give him a call at 757-335-1940 x107. He is ready to get things started. I hope someone will help as this is a truly neglected issue and JLT Performance can make this happen and for not a lot of money. Good luck and please keep the forum informed if you should decide to put your vehicle in the capable hands of Vinny and his engineers. Cheers to all Howie
  16. Does anyone have any experience with the nGauge programmer? Unleashed has it with one tune for $550.00. I don't like that it only has ONE tune, but just curious about the overall package. I would welcome any insight. Thanks a bunch. Cheers, Howie
  17. Hey Mikula, Yep. You are correct. I wasn't thinking in those terms as I was really hoping for something a bit more modificationable. But alas I will take it for what it is and have what fun I can. Thanks again for the input. Have a great one.
  18. After some research it seems Koni and Bilstein aren't making an application for the Edge. I will wait for something else but still no H&R for me. They may actually work fine in the Edge, however their customer support and professionalism is substandard. I'm happy they work for everyone here. Good luck.
  19. I owned a business modifying most European sports cars or years. I used mostly Bilstein, Koni, and sometimes KYB. I purchased H&R springs for my C63 AMG a couple of years ago and they were terrible. Car pulled so much nobody could figure out why. I contacted H&R and they just gave me some crap story. My buddy owns a high-end shop and most of the guys are running BMW M3, M4, M5, M6 and Porsches. I was the only one in an AMG. As soon as I removed them the car was back to normal. So no H&R for me. I'll go with Koni or Bilstein first. As far as the tune goes, I don't want to spend more money on software just so I can download a tune once in a while. I had Parallels at one time and used it once or twice. I don't even have it on my Mac any longer. I know in some vehicles a thermostat does help quite a bit, however I'm not looking to race this vehicle so that really isn't an option for me at this time. I just wanted a tune and see how it goes. I have ordered an AFE dry pro air filter. I had two in the C63 and they really are worth the money. I want dry over wet mainly because I don't like the oil. Used it on K&N filters for a few years and they just gum up everything. K&N as far as I know don't even offer a dry filter. Their oil may work for some, but I'm not a fan. AFE and others offer wet as well, however where I am currently there is a lot of sand so the oil will work to help retain dirt in the filter and I don't need that for sure. I'll give LM a call this week and see what they have to say. I used SCT handheld programmers in the past and liked them. The one for the C63 was a MyGenius and it was pretty easy to use as well. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks again everyone.
  20. I just went to the Livernois website to research their tune. Looks like I am kinda out of luck as they don't support Mac, which is all I have at this time. Not much point in spending a ton of money on a tune if I can't even download it. I'll hold off for now but thanks again. I'll see what the Unleashed tune looks like.
  21. Thanks Mikula. I'm so used to driving my European toys, or most recently the Shelby or Boss 302, so not sure what to expect. The 2014 SRT Jeep would have been awesome if it hadn't been such a lemon. I test drove the Explorer Sport but it just didn't feel like it had the balls or the sound. This little 2.7 sounds great and it has the pep. Do the Livernois folks offer any discounts to the forum? How are your Pirellis holding up? I mostly run Michelin's, but will keep these for a bit to see how they go. They are a bit noisy, but I can deal with that for now. I may end up powdercoating the wheels as I don't like the grayish look so much, however better than polished or chrome. What other bits are worth doing to this little guy? Looking forward to having some fun. Thanks again. Howie
  22. Thanks for the replies. So what kind of HP can I expect from either of these tunes? I was wanting to wait for the 2019 Edge Sport ST, but think I can do ok with this one. Are the tunes loaded via programmer or do you have to purchase a chip? Thanks again. I don't want to lower it or do any major mods at this point since I need to know if I will even keep it. Just feels a little small for me at this point, but still working out the tweeks and seating adjustments. It is peppy and sounds pretty good though.
  23. Hi to everyone. I am the new owner of a 2018 Edge Sport. I am very, very new to the performance SUV thing since my 2014 SRT Jeep. Which by the way was a huge piece of poopoo. So am in need of some assistance from folks who are experienced and knowledgeable in the ways of the Edge Sport. Thanks in advance. A bit of history. I owned a company back in the 90's building, designing and modifying European sport type vehicles. In most recent of years I owned a highly modified a GXP Solstice, which by the way is and was the only GM product I have ever owned. It was fun, but not the highlight of my modification positives. I have owned a 2012 Boss 302 which was quite highly done up and ran numerous times at the Texas Mile. The SRT Jeep was just a huge mistake so moving on. Then came the exquisite W204 C63 AMG. Much mods performed and one of the most beautiful vehicles this guy has owned. With much stupidness in my head I traded it for a 2016 GT350. As nice as the car was I was very disappointed and after thirteen months and only 1905 miles I went in a totally different direction. Skip the last vehicle and on to the newest addition to the garage. So now the Edge Sport. I want to do some tuning, but not over the top. A tune is first on the list so I would really like to know what the options are. I am not interested in intercooler upgrades at this point as I need a place to start. I would have waited for the new Edge Sport ST, but well, I just didn't want to wait. Plus the discounts and promotions were too good to pass up. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I truly enjoy road racing courses, however I am ok with the fact the Edge isn't going to be great in that department. I just wanted something a bit more fun that my last vehicle and since I move around for work, it would help in that area as well. I look forward to some great ideas and from hearing about some awesome Edges on these pages. Cheers to all, Howie
