  1. I picked up the vehicle and now they say it is a tranaxle seal leak. They say the part is on order but none have made it to canada to date and they have no idea when they will. They are just now starting to be availble in the US. Donna
  2. I took my 2008 Edge Limited in to the dealer today because it had a transmission leak. The answer I got was "It is a known Edge problem with no known solution and I would have to live with it". I am in Alberta, Canada and they say Ford is working on the problem. He also said "there may be something available in the States but not Canada". It seems ridiculous that nothing can be done to fix it and that it would make any difference if it is a Canadian Edge vs a U.S. Edge. Any comments would be appreciated. DonnaB
  3. Hi - If anyone could track my 2008 White Sand Edge Limited I would really appreciate it! VIN is 2FMDK49C58BA14823 Thanks! DonnaB Calgary Alberta
  4. Thanks - as we have read, the accessory has not worked for people and the idea is to hide luggage, laptops etc. What about a net or something to prevent all your groceries falling on the ground when you push the auto liftgate button? Thanks
  5. Hi - I see by the 2008 ordering guide there is a "cargo management system". I am hoping that this includes a cargo cover that was missing as an option on the 2007 model. Can anyone comment if this is the case, or what exactly the cargo management system is? I see some people are using the solution of a blanket thrown over the contents of their car. To me, that just makes it more tempting for a break-in as it makes it obvious that you are hiding something valuable. The after market cargo cover clearly doesn't work either. Just waiting on pricing and then I can order my 2008 Edge. Does anyone know when that will be available to the dealers?
  6. Here is a quote from media.ford.com Edge offers even more choices for 2008 with the addition of the Limited Series, a new Interior Appearance Package that includes leather-trimmed seats with premium red seating surfaces and contrast stitching, a new 18-inch wheel option and new class-exclusive 20-inch wheels. Four new colors are available for 2008: Vapor Silver Clearcoat Metallic, Light Ice Blue Clearcoat Metallic, Dark Ink Blue Clearcoat Metallic and White Sand Tri-Coat. Finally found a salesman today that would talk 2008s and not try and sell me a 2007. He had all the order info except pricing which should be available in a couple of weeks. The MKX will call PV code White Chocolate and the Edge will refer to PV as White Sand. Either way I should be able to order my White Edge Limited with 20" wheels very soon. The red accent interior package is available with the red, silver and black edge. Sync is standard with the Limited model. Thanks to everyone on the forum that helped.
  7. The lady from Ford was kind enough to call me! White Chocolate and White Sand are the same colour (PV). One was probably Lincoln and one was Ford. Dealers should have order info for the 2008 Edge as of July 9. Scheduling is August 16th and the first Edges will be built starting Sept 17! Thanks to everyone that helped in figuring this out.
  8. Yes, the MKX came in White Chocolate Tri-Coat. That makes sense that they would now offer it in the Edge for 2008 - just like they did the power liftgate! We may indeed be into the Dodge "In-Violet/Plum Crazy" scenario here. Two names for the same colour. Now I just need someone from Ford to confirm and I am ready to order my Edge. I also notice that usually White sand is listed "White Sand Tri Coat Metallic" and chocolate is listed White Chocolate Tri Coat (without the name Metallic) at the end. MMMMM - need to check on that too. Thanks everyone for helping me figure out all this. It will be 10 years before the dealers can tell me
  9. Interesting - Ford just responded to my e-mail and gave a paint code for White Sand Tri Coat Metallic. They gave me PV, which you are saying is "White Chocolate Tri-coat. That supports your theory that they are the same colour!!! IF that is the case it makes traking one down a whole lot easier. Quote Thank you for contacting the Ford of Canada Customer Relationship Centre. We received your message sent on 7/10/2007 regarding your request for the paint code for the 2007 Explorer limited. In an effort to assist you, I have looked into this request on your behalf. According to our resources the paint code for the 2007 Explorer Limited , color White Sand Tri-Coat is PV. I hope this information proves to be informative. Thank you for your interest in our products. If you have any other inquiries or concerns, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to address them. Thank you for contacting Ford of Canada.
  10. I checked the 2007 Explorer brochure and it does list "white chocoloate tri-coat", but if you go to ford.ca, click on Explorer, build your vehicle, choose Limited for the model, "white sand tri coat definetly is there as a choice (not white chocolate). Same goes if you choose 2007 F150 Harley Davidson. Not sure how I am going to figure out what this new colour is, so that I can put in an order! There won't be any on the lots here for months and months and they sure did not bring in all the 2007 colours.!! Hate to order a colour sight unseen. The Edge is using the White Sand for 2008 as well as creme brulee. The complaint was that 2007 did not offer a white or a blue. They added both - too bad one blue is almost black, one blue is almost silver it is so light, and know one can figure out what exactly the "white sand" is.
  11. I saw that it was available on the F150 but it when you go into ford.ca it only comes up with the Harley Davidson model. Again - hard to find around here. White Chocolate Tri Coat and Oxford White seem to be the more commom white colours.
