  1. Do a quick search of the forums and you will find a number of threads extolling the virtues of the sport wing moldings. I installed them on the wifes edge and they look great.

I had not seen their bumper protector, but I have been very happy with the bushwhacker model made for the Scion xb. One of our members found that it was a good fit for the edge. Do s search for Scion, and you should find the info on that item.

I did a quick look at the sport wing bumper cover, and I would recomend the Scion option instead. The sport wing model does not cover the lip of the bumper, and that is the area most prone to damage.

  2. In my thirty years of driving, most of them in the snowy conditions of the upper midwest, I have gotten into trouble with rear wheel drive cars much more often than fwd cars. As far as the awd system in the wifes edge, I tried playing around with it in a snowy parking lot last winter, and it is very difficult to get any wheel spin no matter how stupid I got.

I understand your concern about loss of directional control with a spinning fwd system, but I think it is much harder for the average driver to recover from a spinning rear wheel induced skid than a spinning fwd straight line slide.

  3. My wife has an 08 AWD Limited. Last winter we had quite a bit of snow in the midwest. The edge did very well in the snow. You really have to push hard if you want the traction control to kick in. I played with it a couple of times in an empty snowy parking lot. You almost can't make the tires spin.

  4. The only problem with the rest of us finding out you are a female is now we all have to hold our stomachs in while we read your posts. ;)

Thanks again for the work you did finding the Scion bumper protector. The one I put on the wifes edge looks and works great.

  5. I still think you are overblowing the hazzards true chrome wheels present. I have had wheel lip corrosion on aluminum wheels as well as chrome wheels in the past. It has always resulted in a slow leak that was cured by cleaning the inside of the wheel. I have never had a wheel go flat or blow out because of this problem.

  6. I think you are mistaking condescending for experienced. Many of us have had our fill of the chrome clad wheel saga that Ford has been spinning. When you come here without even having driven your new edge and tell us how much better the chrome clad wheels are than real chrome wheels, it hurts your credibility.
