  1. I have the creme - and it really looks a soft yellowy white.... definitely not white.

White Sand is white - but not a stark white..

The pearl? - do you mean the sage ? - its greeny grey - often pretty in the sun - I have seen a few and its actually a good colour if you like silver colours but don't want the usual steely colours..

    Hope that helps

  2. Check out my pics - I have the creme brulee with charcoal...

    http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?aut...um&album=26

I initially wanted the camel - but I wasn't crazy about the shade when I saw it.

I previously owned a red car with tan interior - that was stunning - and I kept it immaculately clean - when I sold it.. it still looked brand new.

I prefer the charcoal esp with the contract stitching and trims inside.

But its all about personal preferences.... good luck

  3. if you catch yourself saying...

"I'm going for a ride in the Edge" instead of "I'm going for a ride in the car"

    OR

"Let's take the Edge" instead of "Let's take the car"

I find myself referring to my vehicle as if it were a "type" of vehicle.

Just wondering if its just me... or has anyone caught themselves in a change in the speech pattern.

  4. Hey.. another 5'1 here too - and I love it.. the seats are great, I can see fine from all angles, and reach the liftgate just fine.

Just remember - ya, some of us had problems with our Edge (I have none) - but any new car will have issues - esp within warranty period.

You really want a car that rides great (edge), suits your needs, looks great etc. etc. The Edge has a great engine, good tranny and lots of nice features including the awesome roof ( I love this).

No car is perfect - I personally had my sites on a Murano before an Edge - but the Edge is fab...

Go with your gut instinct... Im sure it will "edge" you in the right direction.

  5. That's my preference tooo!!!

My Edge came the same way - and yes, name printed on the window sticker as it was also an Employee Plan Purchase - that car was mine and mine alone.

I grew up in a house that when dad bought a car - one the first thing he checks is odometer - and his usual comment to the salesperson - How many people been in that car and I don't want it played with while its been prepped. So he checks the odometer again on delivery pick up.

The second he commands - no dealer badging on the vehicle.

That reminds me - I need to take the dealer license plate of my Edge.

Enjoy the ride - everyone who gets in my Edge for a "ride" loves it. They are all very impressed.

  6. That was State Farm's estimate and the dealership met it. Parts alone were $711 cdn for upper cover, $304 for lower cover - the rest of the bill is labour and paint. (taken straight from estimate).

The actual cut into the bumper covers was maybe 2 inches cutting both pieces. No other internal damage.

Even on the police accident report - they estimated $1500.

Brand new bumper covers - painting the top half - approx 1.5 days work.

Dealership did all the prep ahead of time and only took my Edge for half day.

  7. I had a collision - fender bender - I was hit from behind

Collision caused cracked bumper covers on both parts - luckily nothing else - internal structure fine including no damage to reversing sensors. Just to replace the covers cost insurance $1600 Cdn.

On my insurance policy - I have a depreciation waiver - so I got all new parts and it had done at a Ford dealership that has a body shop.

It drove fine afterward - but I would have it checked out - you have a brand new vehicle and I would not hesitate.

  8. Ok.. after much thought.... I decided not to do the remote starter... WHY?

    1. Idling fuel consumption

    2. Idling bad for the environment

    3. Heated seats - make the short cold wait bearable.

    4. Just ain't worth it for the few times I would use it.

Much thanks for all your advice... I did give it serious thought.. and I just couldn't justify it to myself.

    Happy New Year everyone

Hello boys - check out the string above - Edge owners post their reasons for buying etc...

It's a good place to start - I had a Toyota Solara and didn't think I would/could like the handling on a crossover - but the Edge handles great... much better than I could have imagined.

If you already like the styling - then a test drive will show how great a ride the Edge is.

    Good Luck

  10. I know your pain.. I waited 6 weeks for mine.. incl a week when it sat at Ford Factory lot and I was only 20 minutes from the plant.

I have the creme brulee.. and I love it.. the white sand colour is very very sharp ...you made a great choice.

To ease your pain.. head over to www.blueovalforums.com - post your VIN (the dealer can provide you with yours) under vehicle locater by employee.. the very kind gentlemen can update your Edge's progress through production.

    It's well worth the wait...

  11. My Sirius works fine - but the attenna is mounted on the front of the roof above the windshield - but my Edge is a 2007.. they may have moved it for 2008.

I occasionally get no signal in tunnels or underground parking.

On a occasion it cuts in certain road spots...as if there was a blocker somewhere nearby.

For the most part, it runs great.

  12. Calling out any Ford Techs who can help me...

I am considering installing a remote starter in my 2007 Edge.

A dealer wants to charge $700Cdn - a little more than a half day labour plus $300+ for the starter.

An aftermarket spot, recommended by another Ford dealer = $249Cdn installed.

Do I have warranty issues with an aftermarket install ? and is the Ford installed price just overpriced?

Calling out any US Ford Tech in Buffalo NY area - can you do it for cheaper?

    Thanks in advance

  13. Indeed. Well said. All that stuff, along with chromed light-alloy wheels and white stitching on black leather, is just garish to me.

All I have to say.. to each their own.

In my opinon.. I don't like your rims.. I think they overpower the overall look of your Edge.

I love my charcoal interior with the white stitching - I think its hip but subtle. As for the chrome rims, they are different... I like them.. I like the little bit of bling...

Who knows, when my tires finally wear out, maybe I will replace them.

Style is a personal thing.. so.. those are my 2 cents - (although I do agree the red inserts available - over the top for me)
