  1. There's a post in this forum from several years ago.  A shelf was created inside the console.  Unfortunately the photos have all vanished for some reason but you can probably follow the instructions.  Just a couple of thin boards on each side of the console then a lid that spans those boards at whatever height you choose.   Under the lid create as many dividers as you need.   Here's a link to the post: https://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/28578-add-a-shelf-to-your-center-console/?tab=comments#comment-210243

I need to find a fuse that is always hot and one that is powered when the car is on! Any advice?? Thank you in advance ??

Here's the layout for a '16, it 'might' be the same for your later model.  Be sure to check using a multimeter or test light.   Note, the left side of the photo is actually the 'top' of the fuse box.image.png.955f38659c4413a6fa81bc5bac07d201.png

Guess I will have to spend so time in the owners manual and see what else I have missed.

Since you're just beginning the exploration process with your Edge you might find the following pages handy.

This one will help explain some things  in the manual and add a few items that 'should' be in there: https://www.gadgetjq.net/edge/tips/quick_tips.html

This page adds a few other things that are handy to know (and aren't in the manual at all: https://www.gadgetjq.net/edge/stuff/stuff.html

And here's a link to the main page that'll help when you start modifying your new Edge: https://www.gadgetjq.net/edge/

    Have fun!

Has anyone had a problem with the liftgate closing on them while loading??

<snip> and what you have done as a result of it.

    Thank you.

Yes, it's pretty well documented in this forum and assorted Edge groups.  Try doing a search for "liftgate close" and see what pops up.

The liftgate closing unexpectedly is usually caused by the owner/operator placing their feet under the bumper while loading or unloading then moving a foot toward the rear.  This is the exact motion that triggers the sensor (as opposed to side to side movement).   Two possible fixes.   1. Open your liftgate and pretend you're loading/unloading groceries.  Note where your feet are.  If the toes are under the bumper move back and be conscious of where to stand the next few times.  Try standing to the right or left of center. Eventually it'll be automatic (muscle memory)
    2. Unplug the sensor.  I don't know exactly where the plug is in the '20 but for earlier models it's on the right side and slightly in 'front' of the bumper.  You might be able to see/reach it without disassembling anything but it's easier if you remove the panel under the rear bumper.  If I remember correctly, someone posted a photo of the plug in this forum a year or so ago.
    3. A third way requires the use of Forscan.  You'll find that 'how-to' on my Edge tips page here: https://www.gadgetjq.net/edge/forscan/forscan.html#lgate

Unfortionately the Links don't work. I also can't find anything on your Homepage about this thread.

    Hi John,

That's odd, the links don't work and all the photos have vanished from this thread.

No problem, the tutorial 'is' on my web page ( https://www.gadgetjq.net/edge/index.html ) It's the first item on the left  Here's a direct link to the camera page: https://www.gadgetjq.net/edge/Front_Camera_Edge/front_camera.html

The link to the camera at AliExpress is https://bit.ly/3s2CTGp and for the module it's changed to  https://bit.ly/3duMZM6

just bought an 2020 edge sel yesterday, woke up this morning and had condensation in the right tail light, salesman said the have vents in them, i think BS

The salesman was actually correct and the condensation issue is mentioned in your owner's manual (page 85).  If you're under warranty and 'if' the moisture is very heavy (puddling at the bottom and large drops on the lens) you can probably get a replacement.  Otherwise, just fix them.  You'll find a 'how to' here: https://www.gadgetjq.net/edge/stuff/stuff.html#conden
Since you're a new owner you might want to check out the rest of the site (click the back to home page link at the top of that page) for some tips/tricks that'll make your ownership a lot more fun.

    Cheers!

I had exactly the same reaction when I opened the hood on my October-made 2020 Ford Edge Titanium - disappointed.

Life lesson learned. BEFORE taking delivery of a vehicle (new or used) open every door, look under every cover to make sure everything you expect to be there really is.  A lot of buyers are surprised their vehicle doesn't have a spare tire (sometimes from the factory) or tools are missing or items you had on an earlier model of the same vehicle are gone like....engine cover, hood insulation, storage space top center of the dash, storage cubby lower left in the dash and one of the two horns.

Now,  I will start locking the gate, install motion sensor lights, and add more cameras to get better videos.

What you need is this little guy:  https://amzn.to/3eMxZrN

It steps 5 volts up to 40 kilovolts, enough for an eye opening shock but the amperage is really low so you won't actually kill anyone (probably).  You'll find 'how to' videos on YouTube showing how to rig your door handle(s) with a switch so when someone gives the handle a tug (with the vehicle locked) the current flows from their hand to ground.  It has the makings of a really fun video. ;)

I have also asked several members  who were scheduled for the experience to specifically ask their instructor to demonstrate manually shifting in the S-mode.  No responses.   Other ST owners must not be interested and just don't care.

Or you're asking the wrong forum.  Check out https://edgestnation.com

I tried running this with forscan this afternoon but I got an error that the module reset could not be completed- what am I doing wrong?

Are you using a code reader known to work well with FORScan?  Some of the cheap eBay readers can't see a lot of Ford's modules (computers) so can't make changes/adjustments.

  11. Hi Gary,

Good news, Gen 2 wheels are interchangeable with any other Gen2 Edge.  We just can't swap between Gen1 and Gen2 (different stud measurements).  Swap away!

Edit to add: If you ever want to compare car-to-car in the future you can always visit tirerack.com .  Click for 'wheels' then input information for one vehicle and see what the stock measurements are.  Do the same for vehicle #2.  If they match you're good to go!

Does anyone know specifically what Ford installs with the "trailer tow" option?

Receiver, 4-pin wiring harness, sway control, heavy duty cooling system (note the fans are different and use a pair of fuses instead of a single fuse), higher output alternator.  With all that you're still limited to maximum 3500 pounds.  With your current setup you're limited to 1500 pounds.

Been hearing a lot of ramblings online that say the coolant loss problems from the 1.5 ecoboost are also showing up in the 2.0.

Correct.  Ford issued a TSB in June of 2019 advising of coolant intrusion in 2015-2018 Edge with 2.0L engines (see attachment below).  It's actually been posted quite a bit in those forums you mentioned with some owners receiving new engines under warranty but others having to pay full freight if they're not covered.   There's another TSB for the 2.0 involving the flex plate that can detach from the crankshaft.  I don't have a copy of that one but you can search all the TSBs for your year by visiting this site: https://www.carcomplaints.com/  .  Navigate to your year/engine etc then click the TSB tab.

  14. You actually have several things going for you.  The 2013 has the improved (new seals/bearings) water pump for starters.  You're also aware of the potential issue so I'll guess you've changed your coolant at least once with the correct color for your year and are using pure synthetic motor oil.  Those two items go a long way toward protecting not only the pump but your entire engine.

  15. If you like the car and the price is right don't let the roof stop you.  The problems you've seen with the BAMR are mostly due to lack of maintenance.  That's not really the fault of owners since there's no maintenance schedule or procedure mentioned in the owner's manual.    Can they be shattered by a rock?  Sure!  Just like your windshield so glass coverage is a good idea.
By the way, the moon roof maintenance doesn't have to be complicated.  You'll find a how-to here along with a benchmark for testing that newly replaced roof: https://www.gadgetjq.net/edge/roof/bamr.html

  16. If you're home you probably have a breaker bar and 21mm socket to break the lugs loose.  For road emergencies I replaced the OEM lug wrench with this: https://amzn.to/2ZJz6Ct
It breaks lugs loose fairly easily (it extends out a ways so gives you extra leverage).  If it's used just to loosen the lugs slightly your impact wrench will have a much easier time spinning them off the rest of the way.  It collapses to a compact size and stores away in its own pouch with the spare tire. image.thumb.png.4fbc93a7dc6f32fadf31af81cad6fad7.png

Has anyone else experienced any of these issues-primarily has anyone else had the lift gate open on its own with the vehicle in motion?

The liftgate shouldn't be able to open if the vehicle is in gear.  Note page 64 of your owner's manual says "The liftgate only operates with the transmission in park (P)."
The best way to diagnose random opening in the garage (or when the car is shut down) is to remove triggers one item at a time to see if the behavior stops.
    1. Make sure both fobs are more than 3 feet from the vehicle (preferably much further)
    2. Find the liftgate checkbox in your left menu and uncheck it.
    3. Disconnect the 'kick to open' sensor (are you sure a cat or rodent isn't running under your car with the fob left inside?)

Beyond those items I'd suspect a short in either the liftgate or dash buttons.
