I installed the rails onto my 2011 mkx, it was easy. I had to reuse the screw that came out of the middle bracket when I removed the plastic under original rail. Kit only comes with 8 screws, so you'll need top reuse the middle one. I am unsure if I will add any cross bars mostly I just liked the look and the option of maybe adding something else down the road. It was like 221.00 on amazon for the two rails via amazon.
