  1. Posted this on some Facebook Edge groups yesterday, but wanted to share it here since I would love to see someone put this to good use!

It's time for me to sell this grille as much as it hurts me to get rid of it! I went through a lot to import it from Europe to the States; but it's been sitting here for a year. I had plans to paint it black and install it but eventually my current setup grew on me.
It's the Vignale edition Honeycomb grille for the 2015 - 2018 Edge. It's not perfect as some mounting points are broken but I do feel like it'd still work in the right hands. More details on the eBay listing, auction-style:

Also including an edit I made of what I was going to do with it on my car with it painted black.

    READ DESCRIPTION IN DETAIL:

    • I bought this from someone overseas from the European version of the Ford Edge (Vignale Edition) and imported it into the United States - Honeycomb style with chrome surround
    • Some tabs are broken
    • I had planned on painted it all black and installing on my 2016 Ford Edge Sport but decided against it for visual reasons - so I have never actually installed this grille on my car.
    • Fitment is not guaranteed - but should work on any 2015 - 2018 Ford Edge
    • Ford emblem is loose and would require just 3M tape should you choose to keep it
    • Chrome has some rock chips and scratches (which didn't bother me since I was going to paint it)

This is an extremely rare item to find in the States due to it being imported.
    • Has mounting hole/point for the front facing camera (I haven't tested nor guarantee you'll be able to keep your camera or the camera wash system)
    • I've owned this for a year and it's been sitting here - as much as I hate to sell it I need to let go of it

No Returns - purchase at your own risk expecting you might need minor fabrication since some of the mounting points were broken. Good luck bidding! Would love to see the final outcome.

This is an official/OEM Ford part.

I got the taillight tint done at Six 0 Nine tint on state rd 7 and royal palm blvd. Was really the only shop that wanted to tint the tails with their weird design and were affordable. Exhaust is an X pipe with 2 borla mufflers. Got it done at G Exhaust. They have 2 shops and are very well known down here for exhaust. Thanks for the compliments. I got a crazy good deal on the wheels. Did the springs myself. I want to eventually get the coilovers one day and a tune.

You're awesome thank you so much. What kind of tint did you get on the taillights?

Saw your Edge last night in LBTS...looking good...needs some low

I apparently missed a ton of posts lol sorry for the delay. I know...I want to get new wheels too eventually since my tires barely have thread left. So rather put that money towards new wheels and tires or see if I can find anything used. What wheels are yours I love them! (I promise I won't steal them)

Just thought......the downside to an awesome looking sport build....it looks less like a sleeper and might draw the attention of law enforcement.....just a thought.

Just know.... I think its the best looking sport Ive ever saw!

Wow thanks for the kind words! I appreciate that.

You are right, definitely get a bit more attention but not as much as you might expect. Only got pulled over once and was found not guilty for it lol - so fingers crossed it stays this way.

Nice! I'm from fort lauderdale too! I'm lowered with exhaust. White with black 22s. Just recently put on a trailer hitch20210415_152457_capture.thumb.jpg.7e11aec95c4d0f7d33fcf8d116276406.jpg

Giving me competition down here! haha. Love the wheels and the lowering kit, super jealous! I'm going to be tinting my taillights soon as well.

What exhaust work did you do?

I love the racing stripe and lower accent stripe.  Can you let us know your source.  Were they made custom or are they available somewhere?

I would love to apply a similar treatment to my 2016 Edge Sport, but in a different color.  It looks naked without those cool stripes

Nice Sport! I had them custom made - I knew exactly what I wanted and had a local vinyl shop recreate them.

I'm attaching the official Edge logo for you or anyone who might want it for the side treatment in a vector format which is beneficial for any vinyl/graphics shop.

  7. Update 12/10:

I've had my car like this for a month. But got the stripe done! I wish I went a bit thicker on the pinstripe but I'm still very happy with it. I also recently installed mudflaps on the rear which you'll see are only in some photos. Next will be sequential mirror signals that I already have but need to install. And also side splitters I bought from Aerotekk.

For some reason I don't have many day photos. I guess I need to get better at that.

I'm super impressed...great looking ride! I can see we may think alike in a few ways. I love to mod my cars for a personal touch and I'm pretty sure I'll want to black out any chrome trim after I finally get mine. The model photos at the start of the thread are slick looking but here in VA you have to watch tinting/paint on any lights...it get frowned on at inspection. I think I'd like the splitter better without the center "scoop" section but thats personal taste. The lights look great! I'd like to do actual fog lights in the center of the lower DRLs

    Keep up the fantastic work!

Thank you I really appreciate that! Exactly, I'm the same way. Sometimes I dream and see what works and then don't execute - light the taillight stuff. But everything else I did move forward with. And agree, I'm not the biggest fan of that scoop - unfortunately there are so many limited options out there and I had a bad experience getting that splitter and the install process, so I didn't want to modify it any more lol. I've thought about the fog lights too! But it's more work than I want to do because you also need to get a different light switch for inside the car if you want it to look OEM.

  9. UPDATE 11/3: Finally got my car back from the body shop after dropping it off 15 days ago...what a nightmare. I do not recommend the SS Tuning spoiler to anyone because the bodyshop  had a pain installing it. They first told me multiple times it was made for a different car and it wouldn't fit. They had to make severe modifications to it. But they were really great as far as they did it done and I absolutely love it. Wanted it to be two-tone satin + gloss black, but the satin came out pretty close to gloss looking. Which is fine. I'll likely be getting a center stripe down the entire car as well.

    • Wheels painted black
    • Rear diffuser custom painted body color + accent black gloss + black exhaust tips
    • Front splitter paint + install
    • Euro headlights are working fine for now, DRLs I still have to play with to keep them on

    Coming soon:

    • Center stripe + rocker panel stripe
    • Aerotekk side splitters
    • Mudflaps
    • Tinted rear bumper reflector + rear trunk emblems wrapped in black
    • Small things, like I ordered dynamic LED turn signals for the side mirrors

Super happy with how it looks!

If you want to try things your way, check the BCM codes in the F-150 sheet, it has several mentions of LED lights in the BCM that might have an affect to your project.

What changes did you do in ForScan?

In this thread, a member installed Chinese (aftermarket) lights and had to make some changes. Maybe it will be helpful.

Thank you I appreciate the information. My car is getting worked on right now for other work, but once I get it back I'll play around with that and see if I can get something working. I honestly changed so much in FORScan I don't remember lol. But I know I changed the DRL settings from Dedicated DRL to Turn Lamp - and changed DRL includes parklamps from Disabled to Enabled. Along with some other ones to play around with it.

  11. I got both headlights installed (Ford extended the wiring harness for the driver side so I could install it).

I finally got the DRLs to work by changing some settings in FORscan...however they only work while the car is off. As soon as you turn the car off they stop working all together unfortunately. And permanently unless I reset the system in FORscan again. I think it might have to do with the power outage or voltage, I have no idea. I'm glad I know how to get them to turn on but they don't last.

Going to have to find a automative light professional/aftermarket wiring professional to see if they can help wire it separately because I'm stumped. Because I absolutely love them I think they look amazing with the regular DRLs.

The Euro light looks quite good.  Is this LED or halogen?  They have adaptive LED headlamps available across the pond.  Are you still using the U.S. lighting module?

I had HIDs stock, but the Euro ones are LEDs. I am still using the U.S. lighting module. The high beams don't work and neither do the DRLs fully - Ford couldn't help so I likely need to go to an aftermarket shop.

  13. Soo I got the headlights in...and they're not 100% plug in play. I'm probably the only crazy person to try this but if anyone else has any insight that'd be greatly appreciated.

So I got the passenger headlight in fine. Except only the low beam + blinker works. The high beams and the DRLs do not work at all. Which is primarily what I bought these for what the white LED daytime running light strip.

The driver side headlight I can't even install...so the location where the wiring harness plugs in is on the European headlights is a lot further away than the stock lights. Meaning the driver side stock wiring harness won't reach at all. Needs to be a good couple of inches longer to reach.

I happened to have a scheduled service appointment already at Ford. So I dropped the car off to see if there's anything they can custom do to A] extend the wiring harness and B] see if there is some sort of code or programming that has to happen in order for the car to recognize the DRLs and High Beams on the Euro lights. If anyone has any idea on how to possibly make those functions work that would be great. I just got a call from them saying they probably won't be able to change the computer settings (FORScan related I'm assuming) because it's of a different country.

Pics below without the DRLs working. But you can see the comparison between the stock Sport light (on the right/driver side) and the oem Euro light (on the left/passenger  side).

    Welcome to the forums.

The photo with the top of the taillights in body color looks best, in my opinion.

But, the more interesting bits, where did you get the model from? Also, please do update once you get the Euro spec headlights. How much did they end up costing?

Thanks! I had to purchase it (wasn't cheap but made it easier for me to visualize some things) - it's from TurboSquid.

The Euro headlights I had to go onto the German eBay site to try and find them. And messaged a seller willing to ship them to me internationally. They were about $950 total + $200 for shipping.

I did a lot of research because there are other non-OEM lights on eBay and Alibaba from China - and they actually advertise many of them using OEM photos, when in fact the style they sell was a bit difference. You don't notice it until you really inspect the photos posted on the listing. So I had to make sure I bought used ones and that the part numbers were legit from Ford. Hopefully I get those in this week or next week and I'll post some photos! I'm hoping they will be just plug and play.

This Fender Flare kit for Ford Edge is so wicked!  I think SS Tuning manufactures it.

Yes they do! I only did the front Splitter since it's too pricey to do everything. It looks great in a wrapped scenario - but not sure I really want to do it to my car. But after 12 weeks of waiting the splitter from SS Tuning should be arriving this week!

  16. Update 11/3: Updated photos on top of Page 2.

EDIT: Initially I made this post about wrapping or painting my headlights - but it's turned into a build update thread.

    -

    Hey everyone!

I'm new here as I just picked up a 2016 Ford Edge Sport in April. I'm an addict to modding cars and go too extreme. For example - I ordered a front splitter from SS-Tuning to install on my car and also bought the Euro version of the headlights to install on my car (and paid too much for both of them). Still waiting for those. In the meantime, I purchased a 3D model online of the Sport and have been playing around with it. Initially I bought it to visualize blacking out certain parts and maybe some vinyl graphics on the car, but then I found myself working on the rear of the car.

I edited this so the top half of the taillights would be painted body color to go with the lines that are already there, but it slims it down and makes a pretty cool look in my opinion. Now I may be crazy and probably will never ever do something like that - but does anyone  have any experience with anything remotely similar? Whether that's painting headlights or taillights to tint them. Does this even seem like anything realistic? I just did this all right now - so it could still be one of those "in the moment" things and tomorrow I'll wake up and wonder what drugs I was on.

P.S. I also played around with the rear diffuser to see what painting part of it body colored would look like, while putting a gloss black on parts + the exhaust tips. Remember, this is all just for fun.

P.S.S. Now I could pull this off with a wrap, so I imagined my car being another color too ??
