Let me proceed my comment by saying I do not recommend the following actions.
I have readThrough the thread about 2008 Ford edge is shuttering Possibly being The OSS failing. The following is not recommended by OSS started filling on interstate I 10 at 80 miles an hour on mast the gas pedal and get my speed up above 70 after 80 miles I exited the interstate stopping at the nearest gas station at this point the edge did not want to leave what seemEd like a higher gear possibly overdrive. Angry and tired of pouring money into an older vehicle I decided to put the vehicle in drive and floor the Accelerator, the vehicle started to slowly get speed and at about 30mph at nearly 6000 rpms my edge jerked aggressively into a lower gear and accelerated as if power braked. Now this was just dumb luck that it actually workEd because I was ready for it to blow up and force me into a new vehicle. I have since done this twice more and now have 164,545 miles on the vehicle. My 08 Ford edge still shutters in between 1500 and 1800 RPMs But without fear Dropping my transmission I might actually get 200,000 miles if I’m lucky
