  1. Hello Janice. Yes the Edge was fixed. I will have to ask my husband or call the Ford dealership where we took the car for it to be fixed. After taking the car to Mossy Ford about four times, the mechanics were finally able to witness the issue first hand. As I recall, it was a $2 part and the end of it had frayed. I'll get it figured out and respond.
  2. Hello, only one time did a check engine warning light come on although the acceleration issue has been happening for at least 4 months. The code that popped up was P1016 (turbo wastegate control) in the PCM memory. The Ford service tech/mechanic cleared the code and was unable to replicate the acceleration issue. Unfortunately, the acceleration issue occurred again a few days later when my daughter was driving on the freeway! Also, I can't seem to upload the video no matter how short I make it. The attachment option must only be for pictures. 3. Hello and thank you for responding to my plea for help. Unfortunately, I can't seem to upload the video on this platform as the file is too big - the video is about 10-15 seconds. I tried cutting it, but it still doesn't load. I tried attaching it to this email, but it didn't work. I've been trying to get ahold of the Ford dealer where we took the car for repair and they are not calling me back. I'm going to go there in person tomorrow and get answers. So, hopefully I will have an answer for you regarding the check engine code soon. Thanks again! jennifer

  4. Thank you so much for your reply! I will give this info to my husband and will see if this could be it. The road was dry, a normal sunny CA day. But, I will have him check it out. Thank you again!
  5. Hello, I really need help. We bought our daughter a used 2016 Ford Edge in May 2020 and it had roughly 35,000 miles on it. It currently has 46,000 miles. This summer, while driving on the freeway, her car lost acceleration. Although she could maintain for a little while (without acceleration the car naturally started to slow down), but she couldn't accelerate! She pulled off on the shoulder of the freeway and turned her car off. She restarted it, got back on the freeway and it did it again. Eventually she got home (thank you, Jesus!). We tried to recreate it, but it didn't happen for me. Since then, the problem has occurred a handful of times (see video). We've taken the car to Mossy Ford three times and they can't seem to experience it so they can't investigate the problem. I sent them the video, but unless the problem happens when they drive the car, they can't do anything about it. In the video you will see the check engine light on which was the first time the light ever came on when the car was experiencing the acceleration failure. Mossy Ford cleared the code but didn't think it was related to the problem. It must not have been because the acceleration has failed since then. We are so frustrated! Our daughter is 17 years old and can no longer drive the car anywhere on the freeway. Does anyone know anything about this? Any advice or recommendation? I'm very appreciative and grateful for any help! Sorry...apparently I can't upload an 8 second video. If you are interested in helping or might think you have an idea of what's going on, I can email the video to you.
