  1. hmm.. I did not realize this myself nor ever read it in the manual or anywhere else. I merely assumed, wrongly I guess but logically in my mind, that once a key FOB was programmed to say #1 it stayed programmed to seat #1 even if I changed position of seat #1 and saved it to memory. since the programing sequence to get buttons 1 and 2 to remember positions is not the same as programming the FOB to recall positions, it never occurred to me that adjusting memory for just seats would adversely effect the FOB program. I think this fact totally explains my issue away. thanks.

    HE HE HE :)

  2. Same issues here. Easy/exit feature works when it wants to. On my wifes setting, she unlocks the door with her fob and seat moves into her position and allows easy entry because seat is back, puts key in ignition and seat never moves forward, she has to do it manually, when stopped and removes key, seat moves back for "easy exit". I never had a problem with my setting. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.... Problem unable to be duplicated at dealer.

  3. That's funny, as much as I speed(never in traffic) and do other things in various hot rods and bikes and what not, it drives me NUTS when someone doesn't signal, its the laziest fucking thing I've ever seen. If someone is within spitting distance in front of me and doesn't signal, its a good 10-15 seconds of horn for them, even if it's their driveway-hell I may stop in front of their house for a good minute of horn if I'm in the mood. If there's nobody around then of course its pointless to signal. But that's a real good way to kill a motorcyclist or cause an accident 5 cars behind your dumb ass. I've owned 36 cars, driven well over 20,000, been past 170mph many a time on 2 wheels and 160 on 4 and in 500,000 miles have never, ever, scratched a car off of a track. If somebody's around, use your signal. The biggest crackup is some asshole in an old Volvo who's creeping 10 under the limit clogging traffic, and at the last second turns without signaling.

In a hard light median left turn lane or something, sure, signal in and turn it off at the light until a couple seconds before it goes green. Obviously if its a green/yield you leave it on.

    LMFAO ! @ The volvo comment ! :lol::lol::lol:

  4. don't use them...or maybe turn the radio up...

I rarely use them so I really couldn't tell you how loud they are. If I do use them, it's only for a couple of clicks. If you really need to know what I'm about to do, I will let you know, but most times, you don't need to know...plus, what's the point of sitting in a turn lane with a turn signal on...as if you need a reminder you're supposed to go that way???

I loathe people who do not signal their intentions. If I can get next to them, I will ask them if their turn signal is broken. Many lives can be saved by signaling, and saying I don't use it because it's loud is incompetent and just plain reckless.

  5. You shouldn't get any 'crap' from your service manager. These wheels seem to be a fairly wide spread issue. Plus I don't think anyone has had a problem with the chrome cladding, only with the clear coat coming off of the wheel lip. From what I have seen and heard the problem only exists on the 18" CHROME CLAD wheels. The 18" aluminum wheels I haven't seen or heard of any problems with these. So when someone says they have an issue with their Chrome Clad Wheels, they aren't talking about the chromed plastic hub cap.

Also, for a little added insurance and for looks, when I get my rims replaced next month, or so, I am going to have them put the weights on the inside lip and/or glue them to the inner part of the wheel behind the face of the wheel. All the custom wheels I have had this is where the weights have been put on.

Thanks Izzy, I have the stick on weights on the inside of the rims on my "Stang. I think it is horrible to put the wheel weights on the outside of the rim....I wasn't sure if they could use the weights on the inside of the rim. If so, this is what I will have done.

  6. The issue is not with the "chrome Cladding" rather with the outside exposed metal rim which the wheel weights are attached to. I have peeling/flaking issues on all rims. The plastic is good. Was the issue of the outer lip of the rim addressed by the new manufacturer Lacks? I am about to take the car in for this issue, and do not want any crap from the service manager about replacement.

  7. I think you're wrong.

I have a 600 hp car already (Murcielago).

I want the effeciency of the turbocharger system (i.e. waste exhaust gases are spining the compressors for forced induction) rather than the rapid acceleration and low-end torque of a supercharger.

I don't want to use my Edge to street race. I want it to perform with vigor during highway cruising, lane changes, and acceleration while at speed.

    Garrett

What exactly was I "wrong" about ?

I f you can afford a lambo, why not just buy a porsche cayenne Turbo S ? Besides.....street racing is illegal.... :burnout:

The spent exhaust gasses spin the turbine, not the compressor. There is no "compressor" this is forced induction douche.

The helical gears compress the air, feeding the motor. Douche.

  8. They need to replace the camshaft position sensor and possibly the exhaust control valve solenoid.. I had the same issues, running rough and jerky idle with foot on brake. Is your car color blazing copper by any chance ? They have 3 now at my local dealership with same issues......all blazing copper :o Someone else on hhere has same issues.....also coppper !

  9. I had a PTO issue with my CX-7, there is a TSB issued on how to fix it. It's as simple as replacing the seals. The process to do that however isn't simple..

Really the issue is incompetence on the service departments side most of the time.

To garyedwardsmith, unless the PTO becomes an emissions or safety issue, this problem will never become a recall.

If the seals are installed properly, it will solve the leaking issue. The process is difficult, so I guess my tech is a good one.

  10. might buy the expansion joint theory. it started out as a cold day in seattle then became sunny. drove the edge out of the shade across a mile and a half or so of not so well maintained roads (industrial district)albeit no more than 30mph- end of the month lots of motorcycle cops trying to write a ticket :banghead: then entered the freeway, 1 minute later millions of stars instead of a sunroof.

I'm going to pep boys to buy that cheap ass window tint film to install on the BAMR. AT least this will hold the shards of glass if it decides to shatter !!! :censored:

  11. I have had the seals replaced.....the first and only repair done @ 12,000 miles. I have over 15,000 miles now and no smell. I also checked the PTU seal area, and all is dry. It really has to do with how the seal is installed. There' s a heat process that must be followed in order for the seal to seat properly. I know ford has a huge problem here, but if it was a design flaw, all '07, '08 and '09's will leak. It took 12,000 miles for mine to leak, which leads me to believe it is not a design flaw, rather the material they use for the seals and how they are installed. I for one would not put up with this problem and I haven't. I honestly believe through extensive research and mechanical work, there is no design flaw, rather how the seals are installed and the material of the seals. I am just waiting for it to leak again, but rest assured, ford wants to repair this problem and they 're working on it. Some resolutions come easy and some do not. Just be patient, and this must be dealt with on a case to case basis and not based on what problems others are having. I believe this is a safety issue and must be corrected and I feel all your pain. This is a new model car and my pops always told me, never buy the first or second year of a "new" model. I couldn't resist, I love this car, it is awesome in every way. I will always buy domestic and never foreign. Please do not let this problem ruin your view of american cars. They are at par or above their foreign counterparts in quality, and remember this is one problem that is being dealt with and will be resolved.......The Edge is the most comfortable and quiet car I have ever owned and it is leaps and bounds above my parents Lexus RX 330. Sorry for the rant, I have been drinking and although I pride myself on having no gramattical errors, there may be some in this post......hey , it's Friday ! Good luck to all and I hope all of your issues are resolved. :tequila:
