  1. And how does this relate to the Ford Edge????

I'm not knocking your opinion on a totally different topic than our vehicles, but I for one visit this site to talk about my car and relax a bit.

I'm sure that some members can relate to your frustration, but lets keep things a little more on topic.

Get out for a ride, enjoy your Edge, and relax.

The Lounge is specifically for Off Topic discussions. They don't have to have anything to do with the Edge. Just a place to chat or vent, whichever may be the case.

  2. Hi,

I got my 2008 Edge, AWD, Limited for about 2 weeks now. So far like it, the handle, driving and the brake is working very good. :yup:

There is a strange thing confuse me a lot:

When the engine is not start, under the Driver Controls. I did a System Check, it give me a warning: Oil Pressure Low.

But when the engine is start, I did a same test, no warning at all, everything is perfect. Also, the little Engine Oil light in the Instrument Cluster is not comming out when driving.

I checked the engine oil, it is within the range, but in the low end.

    Should I warry about it?

If I understand you correctly, when the "oil pressure low" warning comes on the engine is not running. Since the engine is not running, there would be zero (0) oil pressure since no oil is being pumped through the engine. When the engine is running, you get no warning about the oil. You get the warning only because the engine is not running. Perfectly normal. You will want to monitor your oil consumption as it is normal for a new engine to use a little oil when brand new until it gets broken in.

  3. does anyone know if the sync system can be added to a navigation system from the 07 edge? any info is helpful!!

I don't think there is any way to add SYNC to a 2007. It is far too interconnected and has new buttons on the steering wheel and the voice mic. on the rear view mirror.

  4. '08 Limited AWD, red w/ charcoal int. & red seat inserts, w/ everything (except DVD Entertainment System), including 20" wheels, power liftgate, tow package, premium sound, SYNC, NAV, smoked bug-shield on hood nose, vent shades, front mud flaps, rear cargo management system, cargo protection cover, Ford floor mats.

Stickered at $38,698. $30,133 out the door, and that is after the X-Plan pricing and Ford rebates.

Can you give us a line by line summary of that deal? That seems too good to be true. Can you list the X-plan price, and each Ford rebate and incentive by name and amount? Even at A Plan pricing that seems too good to be true. I want to make sure I am not missing something on my upcoming purchase.

  5. There is probably an aftermarket solution using the aux input on the factory stereo. It just won't be as integrated and easy to use as the factory Sirius set up. Maybe once the merger is approved, if it is approved, they can combine the two services so we can get the best of both services on both systems. They should be able to add more chanels on XM to add the Sirius channels, and on Sirius to add the XM channels. The let popularity weed them out or down over time. I prefer Sirius also, but have friends who swear by XM, so it is great we have a choice.

  6. I got to see a 2008 Creme Brulee Edge Limited with the camel leather today when I was visiting another town about 70 miles away. I like the black dash, lower console, door & rear quarter trim a lot. Looks sportier to me. I agree that the black weathertech cargo liner will be a better choice than the tan. Will probably go with the tan weathertech floor liners though as they should not show the dirt as much as the black ones will. I will probably try both tan and black to see how they look before deciding. The weathertech floor and cargo liners are actually made here where I live so I can go out to the plant and try both of them to see how they look in the car. Actually, it will be my wife who will go out to look since it is going to be her car. Even though it is her car, I was really stoked after seeing the one today. She is really going to like it. Looks like an ipod and/or a bluetooth cell phone for Christmas for her so she will have new little toys to go with her new big toy!

  7. Usually the deals in December get a little better because of Christmas, when people are not usually buying cars. In years past December is when the first set of decent lease deals pop up. Since our Edge is to be built next week and to arrive the week of December 10th, we will be dealing with whatever December brings. I figure it will be no worse than November and hopefully a little better. I guess we will see in a few weeks! Maybe the Christmas 50% off sale!?!

    ;)

  8. Thank you for posting the excellent pictures. I can show them to my wife to see what her thoughts are. My dealer asked Ford about it and they told him the change to the black dash was to address the windshield glare issue that so many 2007 camel interior owners complained about. By tying it in to the door uppers and the lower console it gives the interior some contrast. The contrasting stitching in the seats is black and it looks like the contrasting stitching on the steering wheel is camel.

  9. I just picked up my 08 Edge SEL AWD - so far I love it! Only question I have - has anyone else had trouble programming the HomeLink feature (to open garage door). We have HomeLink on my husbands Lincoln and love it but my Edge is not accepting the programming from my garage door opener. (have tried the American and Canadian methods).

Some garage door openers only accept a limited number of remotes operating at one time. Mine is that way. Had to reprogram all of them and "delete" one to add the Homelink equipped car.

  10. Well, we will obviously see what it looks like when it arrives. I went to the Ford web site and pulled up the on-line brochure. The pic of the Limited interior in camel sure shows a black or very dark dash. Other pictures also show darker trim on the doors. Can anyone who actually has a 2008 with camel interior take and post some interior pics? If the changed the doors and are going for a two tone look then it may well be fine. It should certainly help with the glare issues reported by 2007 owners with the camel dashes. We ordered before the 2008 brochures and on-line info. were available so we had nothing to go by but what they were doing on the 2007 models. We wil keep an open mind and see what it looks like. If anyone can post pics of the entire interior it would really be appreciated. Ours is supposed to be built the week of 11/19 before Thanksgiving so we should have it by early December.

  11. WHAT!?! The dash is black on a camel interior? My wife's ordered Creme Brulee Edge Limited has the camel interior and we are expecting a CAMEL dash. I will call the dealer this morning to find out what is going on. She will have a cow if her dash is black because the 2007's we saw that were the Creme Brulee with camel looked so coordinated. Is it possible the black dash is only on the black exteriors with camel interior????

  12. So I just picked up a new Edge Limited. It has most of the bells and whistles but was missing a surprising option considering everything else...no sirius radio. Even the salesman was a little surprised. I had asked if it could be added at the dealer ship and he couldn't (didn't get me answer). Does anyone here know if I could get sat radio added? The window sticker listed the radio as sat ready. It is the 6-disc navigation unit with sync if that helps.

If obviously wasn't a deal breaker since I brought the car home, but it would have been nice.

    Thanks.

You should be able to have the dealer add the Sirius receiver and antenna to your system and have it integrate seamlessly. However, it will cost more than the $195 option it is from the factory. I could not live without Sirius and am excited that the wife's new Edge that is coming will have it built in. We use the plug & play in our other cars.

  13. Thinking of adding Cargo liners, and floor mats. Any thoughts on which of these is more elegant, but also sturdy for NYC snow, slush and rain? lloyds, catch-all or weathertech?

    Thanks.

They all have pro's & con's. For pure protection, I prefer the Weathertech products. They can get really nasty then clean up very nice. The catch-all products look nicer clean, but then so do the carpet mats that are standard. It all boils down to personal preference. All I can say is that when my wife's Creme Brulee Limited arrives, we will have a complete set of weathertech products ready to put in. The digital fit front and rear floor mats and the cargo liner in tan to match the camel interior.

  14. They are also killing the Dodge Magnum, which is sad. Just returned my 2005 Magnum RT at lease end and it was one of the finest cars I have ever driven. Incredible power, great mileage, room, looks (either you love it or hate it), and that MB chassis and transmission that made it drive so nice. However, the wife is really excited about her Creme Brulee Edge Limited that is supposed to be built the week of 11/19 so domestic bliss wins out. UNLESS I can talk her into letting me get the 2008 MKX black limited monochrome edition that should be at the dealer in less than 2 weeks! :hyper:

  15. Annie:

I'm not a "anti anything Bush" person. I'm a life long Republican. I would say a "really tired of THIS Bush" person is a better description. The Peace, love and Bill pic is sort of scary too. But not as scary as your "Dick as President" scenario. Even though Dick has been the defacto President for 7 years, he has had to show more restraint that he would if actually he was the official president. Of course, on inauguration day 2009, I fully expect W to pardon his entire administration for any and all illegal acts, resign, Dick is sworn in for an hour, in which he pardons W and then nukes some other nation. Please keep up with the fun pictures, however. We all really need something to make us smile! Happy Halloween.

  16. I love the way the headrests tilt forward. Much safer and I like having the headrest right behind my head for comfort. To each his/her own. Too bad they don't adjust fore & aft as well as up and down. That would be the perfect solution for everyone. Are you listening Ford????
