  1. My wife calls it a "killer hatch". (2018 Edge Titanium) While sorting something in the rear cargo area, she was hit by the descending liftgate (I inadvertently activated it not knowing she was there) coming down on her neck and not reversing...she managed to drag herself out and it slammed shut. She suffered a bruise on her head and a few days with a stiff neck. Called the dealer to have a service representative tell her it was her fault, asking whether she would not look both ways while crossing a street. Took the car in to dealer, where it was investigated and proven that the tailgate would intermittently fail to reverse when blocked. All sensors were replaced and problem did not occur. Wife still afraid. So...last month we traded for a new 2022 Titanium. The foot activated switch on the new car is super sensitive...with the tailgate coming down frequently while we load or unload the car. It reverses OK, but is a pain in the a**. Asked dealer to deactivate, but apparently not possible. Any suggestions?
