  1. Hi folks, I know that extensive research has been done on this for 2007 and 2008 Edge models, but what about the 2009 Edge with the hard drive Nav? I recently took a golf trip and the driver had a 2009 Expedition XL with what appeared to be the exact same head unit as that on my Edge. The back up camera could not have been any nicer and I would love to have my Ford dealer retrofit the camera to my head unit. Anybody out there in Edge land done this yet? Wow what a toy!!--ce
  2. I've got 4500 miles on mine purchased in March and the A/C is not very good. Can't believe my cabin air filter needs replaced. Love my Edge, but the A/C doesn't work very well. I keep the sunshade on the BAMR closed in the heat, turn the fan all the way up and set it on Reycle. Still it isn't very good. Oh Well nothings perfect, but the A/C worked good on all my other Fords. Go Figure--ce
  3. When I went to pick up my new 2009 Edge Limited back in March the headliner was in the same state of disrepair. I took the car, they ordered the parts and within a week it was fixed perfectly. I think I got lucky, I still could be fooling with this. Good luck and if they can't fix it, try another dealer--ce
  4. You don't need no stinking 6 cd player, you have a hard drive. I love my NAV with hardrive!!--ce
  5. Hey, congrats, that's exactly like mine. Picked it up in early March and have 3500 miles now. Love the BAMR and hard drive NAV system. Another nice Ford :happy feet: --e
  6. I've had the Weathertechs in 3 Explorers and bought the black ones for my dark Grey 2009 Limited. I also recomment Autoanything. I'm sure you will enjoy your first Ford, I've had 3 Explorers, 1 Mercury Grand Marquis and 1 Mustang GT, all fine cars and just as good or better than any Japanese car that I've owned. Enjoy--ce
  7. When I picked up my new 2009 Edge with BAMR, the headliner would not retract properly and the material just bunched up falling toward the back seat. My car was also one which was transferred from another dealer. The salesman noticed this before I even got there for delivery and had ordered the required parts. One week later I got the call and after about 8 hours of labor the headliner was in perfect working order. Haven't had a problem since. I could have rejected the car, but made a quick decision to take it. Worked out for me, but I had no guarantees upon delivery. I don't know!!!, good luck, it appears my dealer is pretty good. This is my first experience with them.
  8. I've had my 2009 Edge Limited since early March and I am very pleased with it. I got the BAMR, Nav with hard disk drive, chrome 20 inch wheels, trailer hitch and after 2500 miles it has been trouble free. I've owned 4X4 Explorers since 1991 and the Edge has been a nice change. I can squeeze 22 mpgs out of it which is way better than the Explorers. I'd say, go ahead and pull the trigger if you are happy with the deal. Good Luck--ce
  9. There was a bunch of the available colors that I liked. So I gave my salesman a few to check on and he found a dark Grey Limited, Black interior and 20 inch chrome wheels. Dark grey doesn't sound to good, but wait till you see it in the sun, man it pops with those metal flakes. It also may be a little easier to take care of than black. As nice is black is, I just couldn't keep it nice. Good luck on whatever you choose and stay away from any extras that the stealership tries to sell you. I put a coat of Rejex on mine right after I got it and it looks terrific(except for the pollen now) eddie
  10. I put a coat of Rejex on my Edge right after taking delivery and the metalflake in the grey really pops. Coming from the Corvette forum, Zaino is also highly recommended. I'm sure all of the big names, Mequires, Adams, etc, will perform nicely--ce
  11. Well, took delivery on Saturday the 7th. The salesman immediately informed me that the headliner for the moonroof was defective. Seems that when you opened it up, it would just sag down toward the rear seat. Not good. At least they were up front about it and I still had the check. I decided to trust the dealership to fix the problem and took the car. That certainly gave the control of the situation to them. They had to order some parts and today they worked on it for 8 hours and it now retracts correctly into who knows where and closes properly also. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem but it seems to be fixed at least for now. Love the new vehicle and Sync is eons better than anything else I've seen or heard. The bluetooth connection to my phone was a snap and that really works great. I have XM in my Corvette and the Sirius is even better in the Edge. Already received the Weathertech mats and cargo liner. If you are looking for good made in America stuff I highly recommend Weathertech. I've had their products in 3 Explorers and it really holds up. Already got 1 coat of Rejex on it and looking to do more. Thanks again for all the good threads, I'm learning a lot about this vehicle--CE
  12. A beautiful Sterling Grey CC Metallic with Black leather Limited. 20 inch tires trailer tow package cargo package BAMR Nav remote start Wow this car is really fun, my Lexus buying sister even likes it. I took her a Lincoln MKX brochure just in case she wants to go American. As life goes most of the time, the vehicle which was driven from another dealer in another state, has a malfunction in the BAMR. The headliner does not smoothly retract and closed it is loose and wrinkled. Of course I had the option at the time of refusing the car until it was fixed, but decided the chances for further trouble were much less in my garage than theirs. They are ordering parts to fix the issue. Anybody out there with a BAMR have this issue and how was it resolved? Put a 100 miles on it today and the first thing that I noticed was the transmission shifted very smooth and there was next to no torque steer. It is a FWD model. I made sure that I got the latest NAV with the hard drive and since I haven't read the manual yet still don't know much about the system. Can't wait to pair up my bluetooth phone and start learning the system. It does sound very nice, listened to Sirius, have XM in my other car so nothing really new here just have to learn the interface. Other than the BAMR issue, I'm really pleased with this car. I'm coming from a 2002 Eddie Bauer Explorer, and although it is smaller on the inside, it certainly seems much more refined. Oh yea, it has Pirelli tires. Anybody out there have any experience with them. I was hoping that it would come with Michelins but the Pirelli's seem to look nice and it rides just fine with not much tire noise. Appreciate your thoughts and comments on the BAMR issue, thanks--ce
  13. The 09 Edge will be my 6th Ford since 1991, 3 Explorers, 1 Grand Marquis and 1 Mustang GT. All fine cars, with a minimum of problems. Enjoy the MKX, a bit out of my price range so went with the Edge Limited--ce
  14. I'm taking delivery tomorrow, thanks for the headsup, good luck :beerchug: --ce
  15. Thanks for the suggestion, as a matter of fact I asked the salesman today about ordering and his response was 8 weeks. I would have thought that in this economy they would be able to turn an order around faster than that. That was just too long for me to wait. I do have a garage queen(C6 Corvette) but would rather not have to drive it all of the time. The vehicle which I bought did have a few things on it that I didn't care about, but it was the best one available within a reasonable distance. I did learn that some early 09's were built with NAV systems not including the 10 gig hard drive. The one I purchased was produced in January and does have the latest and greatest NAV. I figured if I was going to pay that much for a NAV it better be the latest. I have a Garmin Nuvi which works just fine, just liked the integrated Factory Nav. Wasn't crazy about the 20 inch rims but do like a firmer ride so I bit the bullet on that one. Actually the only Edge wheels that I really like are the standard painted wheels on the SEL. I'm quite excited about taking delivery, looks like a nice vehicle and it'll have lots of toys to play with :hyper: CE
