Didn't realized you were running 20's with 265s.. I bet that would suck up some gas. Also, from what you described, I think the factory airbox with the exhaust will probably yield better MPGs and restore the missing low end you were looking.
I have a K&N drop in filter in my CX-9. Granted it's not the edge, but it does have a 3.7 Duratec V-6. For $50, I am very happy with the results and low end grunt is definitely noticable. BTW, it's the same filter for the Edge as well.
I am looking for a local Edge owner in the area (wash/dc) who's interested in coming with me to a manufacturing/engineering firm to have our vehicles looked at closedly for possbile product development. I won't mention the name of the company but they are very reputable and top notch engineers. Currently, they have expressed interests in looking at the CX-9 and Edge.
Thanks larry for the clarification and backing up my point. BBKs are not desgined for 60-0 stops. They are designed for higher speeds stops and most importantly low-fade consistent braking. I have owned a few cars with aftermarket BBKs. They are great for the track and slowing quickly from high speeds.
FWIW, Eibach is generally more friendly with OE struts. I have a CX-9 and the CX-9 forum(s) are lame. No one wants to mod. Hanging out here for ideas and hopefully whatever new performance parts are available for the Edge will bolt on to the CX-9 even if a little bit of modifications are required.
