  1. Definately looks good. Good job on sticking with the project, sounds like it was a real p.i.t.a.!
  2. There is no effect on performance and it will not damage the engine. All these intake resonator are supposed to do is eliminate certain tones from the intake. Ford has this on here because they are selling a product to families. Most people like having a vehicle that they cannot hear. Myself on the other hand( and Im sure a few of you members) like to be able to have a little growl(hence the intakes and exhaust you can buy for the edge). I just couldn't be bothered to spend $300-$400 for an intake that I would need to run a tune with(another $400+). Sure the performance with a tune is probably nice but at the moment I do not have $1000+/- to spend(With out my wife being pissed). So there are my feeling on the mod I have done to the intake. Yes it is noticable(sound only at higher RPM's), no there is no performance gain, and no you will not cause any damage(unless you drop something into the intake hole's when the resonator is removed).

    Hi

Hello, I am fairly new as well. Hope you learn alot from your fellow Edge owners. I have learned quite abit in the short time I have been a member.
  4. Thats what the original plan was, but decided to try something different. Looks good though. How do you like the sound, did you notice it?
  5. Well I had the idea from doing this to my Fusion. I ended up just plugging them off with the Steeda plugs on my fusion. This time I just decided to try something different. I like the fact that you would never know anything has been done to it other than if you drove it at full throttle. So yes the mod is just for sound(a very nice deep tone at WOT), not a lot but enough for me to notice.
  6. Here are some pics I took. Seam that I split Intake tube without resonator
  7. I will make sure to take some photos when I get back home. I am on holidays in B.C. untill May 11th so it will be a few days. Not really much to photograph though, because I won't be re-splitting the resonator. Just so you guys know, this is a wife approved mod aswell. Next up I am going to try and split the rear exhaust resonators and remove some of the packing. See if I can get a little more exhaust noise without being too loud. I am sure there was a member on here that did this with success. I will make sure I have a camera when I do this one guys. Sorry about not having pics for the intake.
  8. So i got bored yesterday, and pulled the air intake resonator off the intake tube. What I ended up doing was splitting the resonator in two at the seam(it is just glued together, used a utility knife). After it was split I just glued a couple pieces of plastic over the holes on the inside. I then glued the two pieces back together and re-installed back into the intake tube. Everything looks stock except for the clamps now(no crimp on clamps anymore). What i can say about the mod is that it does not sound any louder other than at wide open and then it has a sweet growl from the intake. So to me this was a worth while free mod. Sorry I don't have any pictures, I didn't have my camera with me when I spit the resonator. It is definately a simple mod to do with basic tools.
  9. Just curious if anybody has gone the cheaper route and just removed the front muffler and left the rear mufflers or vice versa. How did it sound. Also, has anyone removed the big intake resonator on top of the intake tube. I removed the resonator on our Fusion and it gave it a nice mean growl when you got on it.Thanks
  10. Well be sure to let us know how the tuner brings everything together. I am very curious to hear.
  11. Has anyone ordered the smoked headlight or tail light tint from ebay. I am curious about the fit and finish of it. I like it because it is removable and not too dark looking from the pictures. I am just wanting something to tone the chrome down abit. Thanks for any input.
  12. Thanks for the update. Lets the rest of us know the truth about these mods. I would love to do both but I don't want to lose the low end. I guess a guy just needs to make sure he has enough saved up to do a tuner as well.
