  1. sounds like a computer glitch and the car went into protection mode. The dealer needs made aware of this so they can clear the code, possibly fix what went bad (most times it's just a glitch and just needs cleared), and have it documented.

  2. Synthetic won't matter for warranty issues. Just make sure you're using the correct viscosity, otherwise you will have warranty issues if there is engine failure and they perform an oil analysis. If you are doing the oil yourself, at the very minimum I'd keep all reciepts for your oil purchases and write the date of the change on your oil filter with a Sharpie. On a diesel forum I visit manufactures are trying to blame owner neglect on engine failures. So, Cover Your AS$!!

  3. That's just your dealer. The one I go to is all computerized, set up appointments online, etc.. They write up your order, tell me approx how long, then they wash the car right before I pick it up. Can't expect much more from a non-luxery vehicle manufacture. Your Swedish and German makes are all high end low volume dealers, that is what you pay for.

  4. That's just wrong, your name is Bulldog you have a skull for your avitar and you drive a Hyundai????? WTF????????

J/K, poking a little fun at you.

"(we live on a dirt road, what was i thinking!) "........ The "Car Duster" is your best friend. I work at a refinery and I religiously use the car duster when I show up for work and when I leave. The CUV stays pretty clean that way. It's the dewy mornings that kill the clean Edge.

  5. "I havd an 08 MKX and it's junk. My best advice would be wait for the new Cadillac crossover to come out. I'll sell you mine for what I owe on it. "

Yeah Cadillac, then in 6 months there will be nothing but a bankrupt company claiming they'll take care of you.

It sounds like you got a lemon and that sucks, but don't visit every topic clamoring how bad Ford and Lincoln are. It gets old and your bitter post get ignored. If all EDGE MKX's were as bad as YOU claim they are, the vehicles wouldn't exist anymore and the customer satisfaction wouldn't be above average.

  6. sounds good. Intake is a waste of time and look at other tuners besides Steeda. All they have are canned tunes from SCT. There are lots of Performance shops that write their own tunes and make better power than a standrd can tune (they use the SCT X-3 also). There are more Cat back companys finally getting involved so shop around and have fun!!

  7. Well that may be in the past, but now they work diffrently, at about the six months period, they sent you a "service message" that you should call them to "activate the account", being the dealer or the owner need to call and activate it, (or extend it, as I supposed that the dealers may have a way of extending it if the car is not sold by then) otherwise you can only hear the weather channel...at about one month of being using my car they put the freaking phone number on the dash and period, I had to call them...

BTW they offer the "free internet service", that still doesn't work in Vista...

Thanks for the heads up. I'll let you guys know what happens. I wonder if I should call to "activate" my account around the 5 month mark. That way I can almost get 1 full year. It also has the Sirius Travel Link which is around $40/month. Neat feature , but no way I need to pay that much for it. If they can't cancell the travel link and only give me radio I won't subscribe.
