  1. When I changed my RDU fluid, I watched several videos where a pry bar was inserted between the cross frame and the RDU in order to get enough clearance for the socket wrench. When I tried this, I was getting uncomfortable with how much force I was using and still couldn't get enough clearance. Thought for sure I'd risk damaging something if I continued to force it. I solved the problem by getting a large bolt with smooth shank and cutting it down and grinding the shank to 3/8" square. Fit easily and now I use it on many other 3/8" plugs.
  2. After my mandatory safety inspection, I was told that I should replace my rear brake pads soon. I went to Rock Auto, and was going to select some Akebono pads, but it mentioned that they were for solid rear rotors. Turns out, most of the pads were for solid rotors. A google search said that if the car was ordered with the heavy duty towing package, it included the vented rear rotors, but my car does not have a towing hitch. I bought the car used, so don't know how the original owner ordered it, but I don't think it was after-market. Does anyone else have an Edge (around the same year) with vented rear rotors, and what pads have you used?
