I have read from various forums the pros and cons of getting an extended warranty, but I really needed the peace of mind considering these MKX's have so much electronics on it. If you really want to obtain an extended warranty, I wouldn't go with anything but a Ford warranty. With that said, I found that Troy Dietrich at Ford of Greenfield in Greenfield MA had the best price out there. I even gave my dealer in the Milwaukee, WI area to match it and he wouldn't it. I normally don't get extended warranties since I do all of my own mechanical -- (my '02 F-350 dually is going 178k strong), but if the navigation system dumps, that alone will cost me some money. It's an individual thing, but wanted everyone to know where I found the best price.

Thanks for the answer and I will search deeper into this. I am in Law Enforcement and believe me, I have seen some crazy stuff being done while people were going down the road. I just feel that there should be the option for the owner, after all, there is more than just the driver in the vehicle at times.

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the feature that shuts off the ability to do certain tasks with the navigation system while the car is moving? Frequently I am riding as passenger in the MKX and want to enter a different address or find a certain POI and the ability is disabled until the car has stopped. Obviously, this isn't an option on the freeway. I am able to override this on my Garmin Street pilot.
