  1. How long to install a whole set of springs?

If you do it in your garage with the right tools (i.e. a spring compressor) a few hours. It's a bit of a pain on our vehicles because the bolts to the front struts are under the cowl and you have to wrench them out slowly. The rear helps to drop the cradle. I had a shop do mine for $225. They had the rear done in 30 minutes and the front took a bit longer (hour or so). I've done so many on my other cars I just didn't feel like messing with this one as its a touch more of a pain.

  2. Welcome. Not a lot of mods available for it. You can do Tune (pre '11 models), exhaust (Magnaflow), CAI (Steeda has a nice one for the 3.5) and springs and such (Eibach, H&R). There are some nice wheel options and of course you can go nuts with audio in the thing..

  3. i would be interested. I live in the Augusta GA area. Can you send me some more pics and make a video of the sound? My email is cdpratt69@gmail.com

    Thanks

No problem. I'll make a video in the next day or so. The factory system will be here Friday so I'll make sure I get it done before then. It needs to be a 3.7 Sport because the 3.5L Exhaust is single all the way back, the Sport is duel, well until it hits the X and then singles into the big rear muffler... Then again it probably could be modified to fit with a little creativity...

  4. Lots of good suggestions here I'll add mine:

    1. Auto up/down on all the freakin windows not just the drivers

    2. Dimming side mirrors

    3. Active cruise on the Sport

    4. Bigger brakes (why do Ford brakes alway suck)

    5. The 3.5L TT Ecoboost with 400+HP and good aftermarket support

    6. Cargo Cover - This is easy come on Ford

    7. Better Stereo ala Shaker 1000

    8. Fog Lights

    9. Heated Steering wheel

    10. A/C Seats like the MKX

    11. Better side bolsters for the seats (maybe a Recaro option)

All of that is doable without adding to much more to the price. And all of it is already available on either Ford products so it's already in the parts bin. Could be an SVT vehicle package. I say they go after the SRT8 with a vengeance...

  5. Current 2012 Sport for me on Eibach pro kit:

Well I traded this on my new Edge Sport, 500HP:

For giggles I had this just before the Mustang above, Stage 3 450HP:

We traded this Edge for the new Limited:

    Yea we like cars...

  6. I think it easily fits both and that's pretty much why I have 2 of them  We have a Bordeaux Limited with chrome 18's for the Wife and I have the Black Sport for me. This is actually our 3rd Edge :shift: We had the burnt orange one with graphite wheels. Only an SEL but even that one got loads of compliments. Now the guys at work rib me a little because my former car was a 2011 5.0 that was pretty badass, everyone's like why did you get rid of it. But after awhile of driving a manual in sucky traffic, of course the noise, harsh ride and no room I wanted a change. Love the 5.0 but love the my new Edge as well. Of course I have automotive ADD so I change cars about every year.

  7. Not surprised by your comments. Some of these aftermarket exhaust systems will make a few extra HP at high RPM on chassis dyno, and lose a few ft lbs Tq in low to mid range. So in a vehicle wih stock gearing, there is no real world performance improvement. Factories got it figured out pretty well for most uses. On a 500-700 HP V8 Mustang, I kinda like a nice exhaust sound also, but on a heavy Edge with low HP, I prefer quiet stock exhaust. No matter what you do to an Edge, it's not going to be a performance vehicle.

yea I wasn't really looking so much for performance i was a cool exhaust note. I like to hear a little of the engine, give it a little character. Oh well lesson learned. Stock exhaust should be in by Friday so I'll have it installed by the weekend and back to quiet. i've had a few people listen to it and they like it but I'm stuck on the sound of a V8 if I can't get the tone i want quiet works just fine.

I'll be selling the custom system if anyone is interested I'll try and get some video clips of how it sounds before I take it off...

  8. IT LIVES!!!

Thanks to the guys at SCT support for getting the truck running again. I called them first thing and explained what happened. After getting some files from the unit they uploaded a force return to stock file and had me try that.

On the first attempt it failed as did the subsequent 5 tries after that. So I sent the guy I was working with a quick email about the failure and that I was sitting in the vehicle did he have any last minute suggestions, otherwise it's new PCM time. He emailed back about a minute later (he was on the phone with another customer) and said to try it without turning the vehicle on or start the upload and then turn it on. I figured what the hell nothing to lose. Plugged in and picked return to stock and when it prompted to turn the key on I just hit go instead. Damn if it didn't unlock and start uploading the stock file!!! Hit the button and she fired right up with no warnings. I was thrilled.

The dealer was super cool about it because they already ordered a PCM from Ford rush delivery. I paid a $50 restocking fee and that was it. Didn't even charge me for diagnostics or anything. So while I was there I ordered the factory exhaust system ($400) and that should be here Friday and I install it this weekend and put this bitch all the way back to stock. The only thing I'm leaving on it is springs!

So lesson learned this vehicle apparently programs differently then my other cars and being so new no one (even Ford it seems) knows how to properly make it work right. I'm glad the tuner isn't messed up as well. No more performance mods for this one that's for sure. Now Audio and appearance stuff muhahahahaha.... I'm just so flipping happy to have it back and running. fingers crossed it stays that way...

Anyone need and SCT Tuner for a Ford? I recommend using it on all 2011 and below vehicles and not on a 2012 Edge

  9. Well got the news from the dealer. It won't accept the stock programming. It needs a new PCM, $650. Of course not a stocked item either so they have to order it from Ford Monday.

You can bet I'll be on the phone with my tuner and SCT first thing Monday.
