  1. If you do it in your garage with the right tools (i.e. a spring compressor) a few hours. It's a bit of a pain on our vehicles because the bolts to the front struts are under the cowl and you have to wrench them out slowly. The rear helps to drop the cradle. I had a shop do mine for $225. They had the rear done in 30 minutes and the front took a bit longer (hour or so). I've done so many on my other cars I just didn't feel like messing with this one as its a touch more of a pain.
  2. Wow all of those look really fantastic, i don't think you would go wrong with any of them... The blue on blue looks great and black on silver is just classic, love it. I even like the red on red one as well...
  3. No alignment needed and no negative camber issues. That's what I love about the Eibach setup is you can pop them in and not have to worry about anything. The ride is great nice and supple, not harsh and on the interstate you can't really tell. Flattens the corners nicely too.
  4. You mentioned the LTD light housing was different than any other Edge, but I have a limited and a sport and they look identical? what's different? Love the idea though might have to give it a try. What's $25 to tinker with it right...
  5. I am really interested in doing this, looks great. One of the things that kinda puts me off on doing stuff like this is the steps that usually involve removing some really nasty sealant and baking crap in the oven to reseal it
  6. Cool, glad I didn't have to mess with this on either of my Edge's. Remote start works as I expected. Start the car, get in, push start button and go. Stays running the whole time. Though sometimes I forget to push the start button and when you grab the shifter to go the car shuts down, good safety feature though...
  7. Are these upgrades to the Sony 12 speaker system? Has anyone done an upgrade to that?
  8. Wow great find! May have to order a set.
  9. No go on tuning the '11 and up. Seems the PCM and the SCT tuner at least aren't yet compatible. Not sure about other tuners.
  10. Welcome. Not a lot of mods available for it. You can do Tune (pre '11 models), exhaust (Magnaflow), CAI (Steeda has a nice one for the 3.5) and springs and such (Eibach, H&R). There are some nice wheel options and of course you can go nuts with audio in the thing..
  11. Took your advice, I'm now up to 18.4! I'm gonna make a run at 19 :happy feet:
  12. Sent you pictures and an audio clip via email. Let me know. If you look closely at the pictures I sent you can see the factory system leaning against the wall of the garage
  13. No problem. I'll make a video in the next day or so. The factory system will be here Friday so I'll make sure I get it done before then. It needs to be a 3.7 Sport because the 3.5L Exhaust is single all the way back, the Sport is duel, well until it hits the X and then singles into the big rear muffler... Then again it probably could be modified to fit with a little creativity...
  14. Lots of good suggestions here I'll add mine: 1. Auto up/down on all the freakin windows not just the drivers 2. Dimming side mirrors 3. Active cruise on the Sport 4. Bigger brakes (why do Ford brakes alway suck) 5. The 3.5L TT Ecoboost with 400+HP and good aftermarket support 6. Cargo Cover - This is easy come on Ford 7. Better Stereo ala Shaker 1000 8. Fog Lights 9. Heated Steering wheel 10. A/C Seats like the MKX 11. Better side bolsters for the seats (maybe a Recaro option) All of that is doable without adding to much more to the price. And all of it is already available on either Ford products so it's already in the parts bin. Could be an SVT vehicle package. I say they go after the SRT8 with a vengeance...

    2013 GT500

Looking hard at one of these as well. I do like the ZL1 Camaro too. Kind of on a SUV kick though so maybe a Porsche Cayenne next or Jeep SRT8 (new one is sharp)
  16. Current 2012 Sport for me on Eibach pro kit: Well I traded this on my new Edge Sport, 500HP: I also ride one of this about as much as I drive the Edge: This is Wifey's current ride: For giggles I had this just before the Mustang above, Stage 3 450HP: We traded this Edge for the new Limited: Yea we like cars...
  17. I think it easily fits both and that's pretty much why I have 2 of them We have a Bordeaux Limited with chrome 18's for the Wife and I have the Black Sport for me. This is actually our 3rd Edge We had the burnt orange one with graphite wheels. Only an SEL but even that one got loads of compliments. Now the guys at work rib me a little because my former car was a 2011 5.0 that was pretty badass, everyone's like why did you get rid of it. But after awhile of driving a manual in sucky traffic, of course the noise, harsh ride and no room I wanted a change. Love the 5.0 but love the my new Edge as well. Of course I have automotive ADD so I change cars about every year.
  18. yea I wasn't really looking so much for performance i was a cool exhaust note. I like to hear a little of the engine, give it a little character. Oh well lesson learned. Stock exhaust should be in by Friday so I'll have it installed by the weekend and back to quiet. i've had a few people listen to it and they like it but I'm stuck on the sound of a V8 if I can't get the tone i want quiet works just fine. I'll be selling the custom system if anyone is interested I'll try and get some video clips of how it sounds before I take it off...
  19. Plastidip is another option if you want to black it out, and you can replace the Blue Ford logo with any color of your choice. Even better if you don't like it Plastidip is completely reversible.
  20. How's the power in it, was curious to see if it feels anemic? Should be good on gas though, I'm only getting 18.2 in my Edge Sport, a very minor improvement over the Mustangs 17mpg...
  21. No need for a live wire here but $300 shipped and it's yours. They are $380 new.
  22. IT LIVES!!! Thanks to the guys at SCT support for getting the truck running again. I called them first thing and explained what happened. After getting some files from the unit they uploaded a force return to stock file and had me try that. On the first attempt it failed as did the subsequent 5 tries after that. So I sent the guy I was working with a quick email about the failure and that I was sitting in the vehicle did he have any last minute suggestions, otherwise it's new PCM time. He emailed back about a minute later (he was on the phone with another customer) and said to try it without turning the vehicle on or start the upload and then turn it on. I figured what the hell nothing to lose. Plugged in and picked return to stock and when it prompted to turn the key on I just hit go instead. Damn if it didn't unlock and start uploading the stock file!!! Hit the button and she fired right up with no warnings. I was thrilled. The dealer was super cool about it because they already ordered a PCM from Ford rush delivery. I paid a $50 restocking fee and that was it. Didn't even charge me for diagnostics or anything. So while I was there I ordered the factory exhaust system ($400) and that should be here Friday and I install it this weekend and put this bitch all the way back to stock. The only thing I'm leaving on it is springs! So lesson learned this vehicle apparently programs differently then my other cars and being so new no one (even Ford it seems) knows how to properly make it work right. I'm glad the tuner isn't messed up as well. No more performance mods for this one that's for sure. Now Audio and appearance stuff muhahahahaha.... I'm just so flipping happy to have it back and running. fingers crossed it stays that way... Anyone need and SCT Tuner for a Ford? I recommend using it on all 2011 and below vehicles and not on a 2012 Edge
  23. Thanks... Gonna make some phone calls tomorrow and see what pans out...
  24. Well got the news from the dealer. It won't accept the stock programming. It needs a new PCM, $650. Of course not a stocked item either so they have to order it from Ford Monday. You can bet I'll be on the phone with my tuner and SCT first thing Monday.
