  1. Same issue with mine. 2010 Ford Edge, just over 5 years old (not that it would matter). Here is my pic. Unbelievable, and embarrassing as I keep my wife's truck in great condition. Ignore the little stone chip next to the bubble as that is recent, likely because the paint is so weak there now. Unacceptable for a 2010 car. My 1999 Toyota Solara that I gave to my sister 8 years ago to this day doesn't have rust, and she never waxes/polishes or even washes it very often. http://s1002.photobucket.com/user/sdpbc/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150419_093855_zpsallx995s.jpg.html
  2. Hope so, now that I've read up on it, appears to be a very common and annoying issue with the roof dating back to the 2008 model year.
  3. So now that winter is over, and I'm 1400km past warranty, and decided to try and open my panoramic roof, well it doesn't work. Pushing either button results in nothing. No sound. No clicks, and no moving of the shade or panoramic roof. Once I did get the roof to tilt (shade was closed),and it took me several attempts of pushing the tilt button to get it to close again. Now nothing works. Anyone else have this happen? Really frustrating that it is literally 3 weeks past warranty, and I likely would have ex noticed this were it not for winter.
  4. Agreed, but a 30% or more difference seems outlandish, plus, as I said, my wife drives with a light foot as do I when I'm in the Ford (embarrassingly light foot to see if I can get the mileage down). In any event, it is what it is, just thought I'd vent!
  5. Actually, the Edge is "rated" at 12.5L/100km according to ... http://oee.nrcan.gc.ca/transportation/tool...SP&Mfg=FORD Not sure how that correlates to MPG. The same site rates the Lexus a tad worse at 12.8... http://oee.nrcan.gc.ca/transportation/tool...SP&Mfg=LEXU So to be achieving 14 to 15 is ridiculously high. My wife has a very light foot, and even when I drive it I try to be much less aggressive than I am even with the RX330 to see if I can get better gas mileage out of it. Something seems off. Others have mentioned that the mileage "gets better with age", hence the question. But thank you for the suggestion to purchase a Hybrid. It was helpful.
  6. Not sure if this is covered somewhere, but is it possible to change the "road name" settings on the Nav? I live in a suburb outside of Toronto Canada and I'm finding the majority of streets aren't listed by their name but by their "number". E.g. Bathurst Street (which is a major street running north/south throughout Toronto) is listed as "38" on the map, many other roads are the same. Just bought a garmin nuvi 765t for my other truck, and it has all the correct names of roads, etc (actually, it's a much nicer nav unit overall except I can't figure out if I can put POI's on the map like I can with the Edge's Nav). Anyhow, is there an option to change the street names to the actual names instead of the odd numbers? It's really annoying as 99% of people aren't going to know the numbers (e.g., I had no idea that "Road 38" was Bathurst!).
  7. Lex, love the look. I'm doing the same to my '04 Lexus RX330 next week. Have some new rims and tires on the way and the shop said they'd paint the calipers red as well. I too asked about white, but they said they'd never seen "white" on a car because it would get dirty so fast. Might do it with my wife's white Ford Edge as well given how cool it looks on yours!!
  8. Well, my wife has put about 3500km on the car so far, and while I enjoy the ride and love the vehicle, we are getting 14L/100km and over on it. Grant it, very little highway driving, but this mileage seems ridiculous to me in the suburbs. My 2004 Lexus RX330 (also a V6, albeit only about 230hp and 17" rims versus 20"), gets 10L/100km with say 60/40 hwy/city split. That means the Ford is getting 40% worse. A couple trips we took early on which were 90% highway and I was only getting about 11L/100km and wasn't impressed, but thought it was because the car was brand new (I can get into the low to mid 9's with the Lexus on similar trips). Note, yes, these are all based off the computers for each truck (though with the Lexus I have confirmed the results when I used to track km versus amount of gas at fillup). I sure hope this gets better with age!!
  9. Found some Chrome AC vent trim pieces through Sherwood Innovations. Unfortunately the distributor wants $90 for the 4 chrome pieces. Unreal. The entire kit is about $150 on line (44 pieces if I recall), but of course I don't want the other 2D pieces.
  10. Weird, wonder why that thread didn't come up when I searched "antenna" and "stubby antenna". So, that antenna works okay in terms of reception and no issues with car washes? BTW, I too hand wash my cars 90% of the time, from April through about Sept/Oct. Unfortunately with snow/sleet/ice and negative temps from Oct/Nov through to end of March that isn't exactly an option!!
  11. NYEdge, any chance you could take a pic of below the seat where you hooked up the power to the 12V "source"? Tx
  12. Searched stubby and antenna and nothing came up?
