  1. Pinstripes is all I would EVER put on an automobile...certainly not a big animal on the front.
  2. I bought the Ford one and when I first installed it the hood would not latch. I had to take it off and move it farther away from the edge. I just redrilled holes farther down and it fit perfect.
  3. I'm in a wheelchair, so I need a little bit more protection that anything I have found on the market. The protector I bought from Ford barely covers just the top and is THIN! When I load stuff in my car alot of times it is coming from my lap or from the ground and I scrape my bumper like crazy. I already have a HUGE gash on the left side from loading a box the other day. I need something that goes a little past the backup sensors and the only way I know how to do that is to have something custom made. I had those clear things on my last car and they do not last at all.
  4. Just a thought...I'm thinking about having Line-X professionally sprayed on my back bumper. Just on the top and slightly over the edge. What do you think it would look like? I saw a Jeep the other day with it sprayed all over the bottom half of the sides and it didn't look that bad. I think it would protect it real well and look good. I also was thinking about going to lowes and getting the DIY herculiner to save a few bucks.
  5. I'm sure they don't work well...I just don't see a company advertising that something doesn't work unless it 100% didn't work. Even if it "sorta" worked then they would say it did. As a company they would want as many sells as possible.
  6. Long story short why it took 6 months is 1 body shop that I had install it went under and never finished it....I had to pay someone to take it all apart (@50% done) and then start it all over again. A fabrication shop about 1 hour north of me took it over and did a great job...only took them a little over a month from the time they received the Edge till it was back in my hands. I still have some other mods to install....bug guard, front window tint, and few other small ones. We are still digging out of over 2 feet of snow from this weekend, and another 6 in. expected tomorrow! Complete nuts. I will have some better pictures and videos once the weather cooperates more.
  7. Try this out...not sure how to put it where it shows directly on here.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhyAa0_dwMw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPzYiyW-vOo
  8. I made a post about 6 months ago stating that I was getting an airbag suspension put on my Edge....well after a couple of tries and 6 months, I finally got it back. I've had it for almost a 2 weeks and all I have is a couple quick videos that I shot on my cell phone in my garage. I will have alot more pictures and videos once the weather gets better. We got over a foot of snow last week and it has barely gone above freezing during the day. EDIT---videos are below
  9. I like the placemats...those might be worth the investment. Especially since it is getting to be winter time here in VA..I track all sorts of stuff in with me.
  10. There is an obvious, and RIGHT way to turn off the seatbelt reminder and that is to just buckle up. I had a 99 Mustang when I was in college and was in the habit of not buckling up till I heard the seatbelt reminder. One night someone ran me off the road about 50 yards from my apartment and I had not buckled up yet and also had my windows down. 2 months later I woke up from a coma paralyzed from the bottom of my neck down. I'm not trying to act like your mother here....but there is a reason they have that reminder....don't ignore it.
  11. Just installed my smoke colored one on the 2010 Tri Coat White...will post pictures when I finish all my mods and have a clear day
  12. I'm talking about the handle that is located right above the window. Their is one on the passengers side, but not one on the drivers....and I need it because I use it alot, especially when getting in and out of my car . I am in a wheelchair and I break my wheelchair apart and put it in my backseat/passenger seat. I had a 2 door coupe for 5 years before this and it had one on both sides. I had to get my old drivers side one reinforced because I use it alot and with alot more weight than usual. It helps me get in and out, and I also use it unloading my chair.
  13. I want to put an "Oh Sh!t" handle on the driver side of my Edge...where can I get one? I'm guessing I should call my dealership and have them order me one? Thanks for any help...
  14. My Edge is at the shop that installs the hand controls right now. The guy took a look at it and couldn't really tell if you could. The door looked to have the clearance in the door jam to open wider, but you would have to mess with the hinges. Google is normally my best friend, but I'm striking out right now.
  15. I have a 10' Edge... and I want to be able to open the driver side door farther. Any way I can do this? Maybe get some custom hinges off the internet...or would I be lucky enough to find a bolt-on? A guy at a body shop looked at it this week and said he wasn't sure it you could. On the stock hinges they have a part that sticks up so it catches. Also there is that black piece that stops the door. Has anyone ever done this or heard of someone doing this? If I could get just about 10-20 more degrees it would be perfect. Thanks if anyone has advice on this!
