My Edge is a month old and the vista roof has started rattling too. I took it to the service department at my dealership and the mechanic told me that it's a design flaw and there's nothing they can do about it. He explained that there was a piece of plastic tapping against the fixed rear sunroof glass and that Ford simply designed it that way. For what it's worth, I work at that dealership as a salesman and even after explaining that I've probably driven 20 other Edge's with non-rattling vista roofs, this mechanic insisted it was a design flaw. My next stop was at the dealership's body shop. They kept it for an hour and a half and returned it to me sans rattle. Turns out it was the 'trim ring' for the rear roof glass that probably wasn't properly attached at the factory. No big deal - $147 billed to Ford for warranty work and I was on my way. I passed the info on to our service manager in the hopes that customers would get treated a little better than I had if they come in with a similar complaint.
