  1. I purchased Ford Edge approved bug shield (says Edge on right hand side). Had my Ford dealer install at a cost of $50.00 Mounts with 6 screws under front of hood (holes had to be drilled). Plastic buttons are attached to bug shield to space shield away from hood. Does a great job of keeping bugs off the windshield.
  2. I have had mine since April, Blazing Copper does not show dirt like the darker colors. Usually use a California duster on it every couple of days, wash it every couple of weeks whether it looks like it needs it or not.
  3. Went to the casino, did not win a lot of money but EDGE ran great - between yesterday and today - (280.7 miles - gallons used 11.9 = 23.6 MPG (driving speed range on interstate 70-80 MPH - did not use cruise control)
  4. Took it to the dealer this morning: Conclusions from service tech: "Could not duplicate customer concern ran EEC test pass ok oasis no concerns CN found". (I need an interpreter) They said if it happans again bring it back which is undersood. Did not have a problem driving today, ran perfect (65 miles total today) At this point I think we may be seeing a computer glich in the software - will keep on driving and if it happans again I will be sure to let everybody know.
  5. I thought it had to be "Park" with foot on brake to start????
  6. Ijust turned 1000 miles (1016 to be exact). Dealer could could not work me in today but I have 7:30 appointment in the morning. I think I was lucky because I was on a residential street and driving at at low speed with no trafic. I still have to drive down to the dealer in the morning, about 17 miles in a busy part of Nashville, hope I make it. If it happans at a higher speed I think the best thing to do is shift into "N" and let it come to a stop because this car is towable behind a camper up to 65 miles MPH in "N" per a Ford product information sheet that I have seen (FWD only).
  7. Engine shut down this afternoon while driving about 35 MPH on a residential street. Warning lights came on and engine had shutdown. After car came to a stop I put it in park, turned the key off and restarted the car, put it in drive and went on home just like nothing had happened. I consider this a major problem. Will take it to Ford dealer tomorrow to have it checked out.
  8. Thanks for the information and I will keep an eye on it because it does get hot in Nashville in the summer time. Since I am retired it spends most of the time in the garage except when needed.
  9. It has a self adhesive backing with paper liner, top has a paper liner also. Instructions show you where to line it up on both sides, you remove the lower liner and press in place being carful not create wrinkles or air bubbles. Once you have in place leaving the top liner on you rub it out or roll it to insure that you have it flat and there are no air bubbles. Then you remove the top liner. Hope this information helps.
  10. The rear bumper cover has the raised Edge in the center, it is an official Ford accessory part which I ordered on the internet. It has good instructions and very easy to install, took less than 5 minutes.
  11. :hyper: Hello fellow Edge owners, Ordered EDGE SEL in Blazing Copper with the following options; Vista Roof, Sirius Radio and Towing Package. The plan is this is our retirement car for trips and week ends. I only have about 900 miles on it at this time but my opinion so far is this is the best car I have ever owned. I like to drive it so much that it is getting some weekday use also. Very comfortable ride, soft seats, excellant front vision, plenty of power when you need it and reasonable gas milage with normal use. I have added bug shield (dealer installed) which really works keeping the bugs off the windshield. I have also added cover on rear bumper to help protect from scratching paint. So far are only issue we have is the lack of a grab bar for the front passenger. Overall we love this car. :hyper:
