  1. Hi,

it's me from Germany again :-)

I couldn't find anything about that so i am asking about all light standards of Ford Edge.

I know that the Brake lights need 4157K or 4157LL.

    What about the other bulbs?

    - Front turn lights

    - Back turn lights

    - Back light

    - Reverse lights

    Thanks in advance!

Can't get those standards here in Germany so i have to purchase in USA (not a big problem anyway).

    would you recommend the 24-, 32-, 36-LED-Lights?

    f.e. this one

    LED bulbs 4157

    Another question:

my left brake light is down since a few days. today i took a look at this and saw it is a Sylvania 4157K. bulb base and also the slots have clearly visible brown burning signs on the grey plastics.

The right one, too but is still in function. Is that normal?

    Thanks and greets from Germany

    Marc

  2. oops, just saw the STEEDA edge. like that. lol.

    really awesome, yes.

Only missing some more heavier interieur updates in those cars.

    @igcitng

    you're welcome.

Jokes away. Guess you all confidented me.

My Eddies appearance will be most impressive when i will do the planned measures

like complete colored body parts and some chrome accents.

Either the airbrusher will be jobless or will only have to do a very small thing on tank flap or back door.

Thanks for all opinions, astir interest and all jokes...was well amused, too ^_^

  3. Okay okay...guess i get that.

    CLEAN...copied.

    @scootertoo21

Hey scooter...are you crazy? what are you doing with my car? :finger:

use your own pics for your floffy toys...and next time dont forget the sun and rainbow above and a second bear.

Dont you know how lonesome such a bear can feel all alone on a big big car hood? Shame on you!

    @sabtaj1

i like the original grill...so it will stay. Vinyl stripes is not so fine cause of the glass roof.

Think it would only look nice if the stripes would reach from front to rear.

    @all

because of the opinions i come to the following decision

    post-8323-12677797471092_thumb.jpg

  4. Hi,

okay the opinions are quite in one direction.

    Thanks for all comments. :shades:

Have to say i am quite surprised that so many of you (til yet) would prefer the clean hood.

You have to know that i am quite unsure about that, too...well, you can see it with this poll.

But i have some further ideas to take that offer anyway.

How about some small subject only in the front drivers side corner of the hood?

Or on the fuel tank flap?

Do you have any other ideas to set some accents or would you all say:

"Do nothing and let all clean!" ...?

    Thanks so far

    Marc

  5. Hi,

i met an airbrusher who wants to make a tribal and some pinstribes for my Edge on an FORD Meeting in may without or with low costs for me.

So i am trying to decide if i should take this offer and when yes what kind of subject (only know that i think an animal would be best)...but what.

So i am searching for some decision help now.

In the poll you can see some different versions of possible tribal subjects.

Please choose that where you think that is the best for the Edge.

Additionally it is possible to choose the hood without a tribal. When you think Eddie's hood should stay clean, than take this.

    2. gallery_8323_214_102590.jpg

    6. gallery_8323_214_308193.jpg

    7. gallery_8323_214_245264.jpg

Please keep in mind that the tribal subject will not stay alone on the hood. Some pinstribes and small details will follow. What in fact is not fixed yet and depends on the final decision with the tribal subject.

The pictures above can only be a rough preview.

Thanks in advance and have fun with looking and choosing.

  6. definitely not to knock your work (because you did a great job at doing this), but that last edge you did looks more like a santa fe which, is what i traded in for mine

Thanks. But I agree with you a bit. when i finished i thought the same thing "looking like Santa Fe or Sorento a bit" and was little unsatisfied but tired.

  7. I saw the website and there is some pretty amazing chnages in the edge 2011 from exterior and interior as well .. does any one knows anything about the pricing of the 2011 limited version or still there is no news about it at all ...

though i love my edge but I would love to have the new feature in my car !?

My 2007 Eddie is loved, too but i can understand that.

Like the new Edge very much, too and would like to have that.

But I know that the Edge will come on market in summer...heard in June, so i guess the price information will come in March or April.

  8. I just picked up my Edge today, I'm quite stoked. The mileage is awesome so far, and the truck really does drive like a big car. I'm a car guy, and I drive the Edge every day so that my 04 GTO can stay in the garage all winter. I'll be doing some style mods and a sound system on the Edge, so I"ll probably be in those forums frequently. Happy to be a part of the community, and I'm glad there's sites out there for us Edge owners

Welcome in this forum! :happy feet:

What kind of Edge is it in detail?

    When builded? New?Used?Trim?Color?

Tell us something more about you and your Car.

  9. Well, with smaller headlights the grill looks too big. So either (I think) they should have enlarged the headlights by half or narrowed the grills by a quarter. That's just me.

The Taurus headlight idea is interesting, I think the same could have been done on the MKX with the headlights from the MKS I think. Either way the grills would have still been a little too large.

    Hi,

hmm...maybe i`ll find some time to play with this idea, too.

Will make an update here then.

  10. Ok guys,

before some said i have too much time.

Guess now you will be thinking that i am gone crazy. :hysterical:

Made my own Edge or maybe a "possible" model above.

Body-style as known but with a face more oriented at the styling of the Taurus.

Further i stretched the car a bit to longer length and wheelbase to be more spacius and variable like his halfbrother

CX-9. It is also now a fullsize-crossover with 7 seats and more comparable with CUVs like Saturn Outlook and his brother models.

The space of the regular Edge is ok...but that would be the perfect Edge for me.

Take a look and have fun :D :

    show-image_org-10012416586387.jpg

Yes, i know that i am crazy

  11. I think Ford made the mistake of going with smaller headlights on both the Edge and the MKX . They should both be larger by almost a half.

The interior seems to be spot on for the new versions/models tho.

    Why do you think that?

I would say it just the other direction:

They should taken headlights from the actual Taurus and should made the grill a bit more in V-Form

to make the "face" a little bit more sporty and aggressive.

    I would like that.

  12. Hey,,,

i was just wondering if there was a problem with my Fuel tank or something :S

    cuz i saw the fuel average and it was " 30,6 L / 100km "

if anyone know what to do with it please tell me !

i'll add a photo in the attachments thing

    Hi,

the first measure in my opinion should be to calculate a complete tank filling per comparison with the driven kms.

Then you will know the true fuel consumption.

After that it is quite easier to say if it is a heavy technical problem with your Edge is consumpting too much or only the BC has

    a failure.

As far as i know the calculating behavior of the BC is programmable over a variable in the Diagnostics (OBD II) .

Maybe someone played with it and the variable is totally nonsense to calculate to high values.

  13. nice job on the photo but I think 07CRUSH is correct about the lower area being chrome.

Will make a second version with it soon.

Am afraid a bit that it will be too much chrome and where will be the numbersplate then?

But we will see it when it is ready.

    Other question:

Do you know that it will be chrome or do you think or hope?

  14. Hi all together,

was bored a bit and made this little photowork.

    What do you think?

Am I right with my thoughts that the chromegrill will be similar like at actual model?

Or will it generally be in black or in body-color or will it depend on trim level?

    Take a look:

  15. Well, thanks a lot for the answers.

Any other forums that you can advise me to check before making the decision?

    Greetz

    Hi,

actually i see two problems for that...no matter in which forum you will ask:

    1.

When you will ask what kind of LPG System is recommendable you will get 10 answers with 15 opinions.

One has good experiences with Prins and bad with BRC.

With the next it is vice versa and one another has a friend with STAG and the friend of the neighbors dog has a turini, but would recommend Vialle. and so on.

    2.

No one is knowing the Edge and its engine and is really sure if the engine would work fine with LPG.

If it would need flashlube or not. Is a dynamically Gas and LPG mixing system better...yes or no....and so on.

Here in Germany is a quite well known website for calculating car driving costs named www.spritmonitor.de.

It actually has 220.000 registered vehicles and 180.000 Users. Many with LPG, too. There is not even one single Edge or other car with Duratec 35 with LPG. Only one Edge with normal Gas-Engine: Mine.

So it is quite difficult to get a usable opinion if it is a good idea to get a LPG system inserted in the Edge and when yes...which one.

The only way is to phone different shops to get many different offers. Then a mix of heart, head and price have to make a decision and after some weeks or month you will know if the decision was right.

  16. My wife and I were recently on vacation in Europe and, as usual, we rented various vehicles, in different areas of Europe.

We were in Euorpe years ago and rented an Opel Vectra and we loved it.

But, this year, we were very, very impressed by the Euro designs. The Ford Fiesta & Ford Fusion are totally different than they are over here.

    http://www.ford.co.uk/

The Opel (GM) Corsa, Opel vehicles in general were really beautifully designed.

Other vehicles from Renault, Peugeot, etc...were equally beautifully designed. Almost all were hatchbacks or wagons which are so practical, but, were so sleek and sporty. We just don't see these kinds of designs over here.

If GM were just to use the design team from Opel/Europe, I think they would immediately rebound from disaster.

Seems that the human being is always loving what is hard(er) to get :hysterical:

According the europe Ford-Models you are not meaning what you are writing.

The Ford Fiesta may be quite nice for a small car...would say thats right, too.

But with the Fusion i guess you mean the Mondeo instead.

    The american Fusion

    2010-ford-fusion-hybrid.jpg

is not really comparable with the european one

    01262-gross.jpg

because this one is based on the old Fiesta, but more practical...with higher roof for a bit more space.

Would also really want to know who had the idea with the same name for those different cars...is looking like

Ford-Modelname-Designers in Europe were not knowing whats the matter on the other side of that big puddle.

    Seems quite stupid.

so i guess you mean the Mondeo

    ford_mondeo_11_25634.jpg

this is the european counterpart to the US-Fusion in one class with similar technical bases...but not with completely identical platform, how i just learned.

But i can understand your arguments. Mondeo, S-Max, Galaxy and some more are well designed with quite modern technology and high driving qualities.

On the other side (i am from Germany) i like many american models and think some are missing here in Germany resp. Europe. Especially the bigger models. Why is here no official european counterpart to the Edge...instead only the smaller Kuga on Focus-base. Models like comparable Touareg, M-Class or XC90 are quite successfull here in Europe, too and some like bigger cars like that resp. need them.

Well, i guess we dont need an Expedition here in Europe, but models like the actual Explorer, Edge, Taurus with some minor changes for special regional european needs would be not unsuccessful and would find their buyers, when not too expensive.

Well, I like them....effectually that is quite enough :yup: :hysterical:

  17. hi,

i still know that you already asked me about it, but i want to answer here in your thread again anyway.

Guess you won`t get any further answer here, because the most of the members here are from USA and Canada.

There LPG isnt playing any role yet on the continent of North America.

Members from Europe are here only just a few people.

As i already told you i would like to insert a LPG-System, too. But the costs for that operation are blowing my financial reserves at the moment.

Just when that is changing i will do it.

After some investigation i am quite sure that the Duratec 35 will easily take an LPG-system in long term without big problems.

Cant imagine that this engine will have problems like some european Ford-Models with the Zetec-Engines for example.

Here in Germany some Mondeos with Duratec 25 and 30 Engine with LPG are driven without heavy disadvantages...some with and some without flashlube.

At last i would say you can the LPG insertion be made without any sorrows.

Actual i had some reccommendations for STAG 300 and Vialle-Systems. Costs here in Germany are between 2500,- and 3000,- EUR, when it has to be quite serious.

  18. hmmm...who is interested in wheels? :sos:

when i like a car i dont mind that i will change in disliking cause of some wheels

or if it is a real chrome layer or not.

When i dont like the wheels i will give them to a well known big online auctioneer and purchase some other.

I was an Audi driver by myself and i didnt bought it cause of the wheels.

When that is all of faults that the 2011 MKX and Eddies will have than we should all be quite happy. :shades:
