    Marccoms 2007 Edge in Germany

Some Selfmade-Pictures from my Ford Edge bought in August 09. It is still mine and there are, were and will be some changes...
  2. Did I understand it right....this lights are working on 08-10 Models, too? What about the costs including shipment to Germany? Greets Marc
  3. Hi, thank you for the links. Very helpful! Guess, we are talking about the same... I attached a picture from the side above and marked the part what i mean. The control arm itself is still in quite good condition but this rubber thing is looking old and squeezed. My Edge has been running 65.000 miles (103.000km) now. Should i really exchange the control arms completely?
  4. Hi folks, it was a long time ago i was here. But i have to say that my Ford Edge is still mine (since 2009) and i am very happy about that. But i have a question: I am regularly watching after the chassis of my Edge and try to keep it in good condition. During my last inspection i realized that the part that is mentioned in the title is not in good condition anymore. i am from Germany and i tried to find this part in search engines...but i didnt find it....maybe you can tell me the correct name of this part i am searching for. If you dont know what i mean, i will take some pictures of it. Two further questions i have are...: 1. is it sure that taillights for the 2011-2014 model won't fit at 2007-2010 model...if yes...why? 2. Do 2011-2014 suspensions parts fit at 2007-2010 models? Thank you in advance Marc

  10. the technical matters of the ford edge are not so really strange for an europe Ford technician. Edge has Duratec 35 engine. the Duratec engine familiy is known in Europe from Ford Maverick/Escape (Duratec 30) and Ford Mondeo (Duratec 25 and 30) the transmission is the 6F. this transmission itself is unknown in europe right...but not so strange and different to its predecessors that a europe mechanic couldnt handle that. I am not a mechanic but i guess the problem is the transmission, too. Greets Marc
  11. Hi, on Friday, the 28. May i was on the FORD Regional Tour 2010 in Leverkusen. This were an official press conference of FORD Germany and presentation of - Ford RS500 Limited - Ford S-Max 2.0 EcoBoost with Powershift-Transmission - Ford Galaxy 2.0 EcoBoost with Powershift-Transmission At 0900 was the beginning with the welcoming and breakfast buffet. After that was the first period of test driving till press conference at 1200 and lunch time. From 1300 till planned end at 1500 was second period of test driving. So I took the chance to testdrive 4 cars. First i drove the Ford Focus RS with 300 HP 2.5 TurboEngine...very impressive car. Second was the limited Edition of the "normal Focus RS"...the RS500. This edition is some louder, faster and more pure....the same 2.5 engine has a larger turbocharger with 1.7 bar turbo impact instead of 1.4 bar. So the engine has power of 345 HP and more torque. RS500 is limited to 500 produces and already sold out. 4 of them were on the regional tour. RS500 is always mat black because of highquality 3M-foil ex works. Most other is as like as on RS, but with red 500 on the back under the RS-logo, production number on center console below navigation system and red leather seating. RS and RS500 are real sports cars with extreme impressive driving qualities. accelaration to 60 clear below 6 seconds and topspeeds around 180mph-area. Especially driving RS500 is feeling amazing. The next car was the Ford Galaxy EcoBoost and after that the S-Max with same engine and PowerShift...with that we come closer to the main topic. With the 2.0 Ecoboost the Galaxy and S-Max come to the following extraction of technical data: Galaxy.........................................................................................S-Max ............................................- engine: 2.0 Turbo - 1.999ccm ............................................- engine power: 200HP - 203PS ............................................- torque: 221lb-ft - 300Nm - curb weight: 3807lbm - 1727kg.....................................................- curb weight: 3695lbm - 1676kg - gross weight: 5401lbm - 2450kg....................................................- gross weight: 5302lbm - 2405kg - topspeed: 136mph - 217kph...........................................................- topspeed: 138mph - 221kph - acc 0-60: 8.8sec...........................................................................- acc 0-60: 8.5sec ............................................- mileage: ............................................21.6mpg [11.0L/100km] city ............................................37.2mpg [ 6.4L/100km] highway ............................................29.3mpg [ 8.1L/100km] combination ............................................(european standard calculation NEDC) Impressions The S-Max is quite more sporty as the Galaxy...the Galaxy more comfortable. The 200HP engine in combination with the new PowerShift-Transmission (Dual-Clutch-System) makes both vehicles feeling light and agile. Even the Galaxy, which is looking and feeling roomy with (...not too...) soft suspension is reacting quick and easy after pedal orders. Engine is also quite silent and smoothy running in all situations and accelaration is possible without disturbing turbocharging gaps. The dual-clutch-transmission PowerShift is changing gears in quick and smooth matter...so also satisfying. Manual input is completely unnecessesary...all in all quite senseless and tryings in fact disturbing. Guess cause of weight and room the Galaxy is most comparable with the Edge. Edge is heavier, but will get something about 30HP more as the Galaxy/S-Max. For Europe more versions of the 2.0 EcoBoost are anounced, too...below and above the 200HP. 2.0 Ecoboost is feeling agile but not real strong. That will be the main difference to the V6 TIVCT and V6 EcoBoost in other models. V6 TIVCT and V6 EcoBosst will not be available in Europe...in any model. Same is assured for the Edge. Guess the 2.0 EcoBoost is a quite satisfying engine and in S-Max, for example, even something like very facetious and sporty to move. But for vehicles like the Edge the TVICT-Engines will be the better choice cause of more kicking ass from low engine speeds and more complete souveranity with weights...especially with 3.7 305HP TIVCT. So i made an comment on press conference against the german Ford Marketing Director Wolfgang Booms that it is in my opinion a quite big mistake not to launch any of the V6 engines (3.5 and 3.7 V6 TIVCT, 3.5 V6 EcoBoost) and further to resign of offering models in premium class (f.e. something similar to Taurus) and crossover classes above Ford Kuga in Europe. Kuga is quite small because of C-segmant-base (Focus) and bigger crossovers like Touareg, M-class, X5 are still sucessful enough in Europe, too. This class and premium would be able to confirm strong image in Europe...especially in Germany. Greets Marc
  12. Yes. will do it this way. But thanks for reminding anyway.
  13. Hi klc317, thanks for your recommendations. I think that all is sounding quite reasonable. Guess i will hold it with that matters similar. The calculation with quarts and Liters is because i am from Germany. And engine oil is sold here in 1.0, 5.0 and 20 Liters canisters...but qts are quite similar (1quart = 0,946Liters) So i will buy one 5 Liter and 1 Liter canister, too. Thanks again for infos. Greets from Germany Marc
  14. Hi, very good topic, because latest in 2000km i am going to change the oil, too. How i just found in forum...it is very recommendable to go with the manual and to use 5w20...not other versions. I will follow that... But i have some questions anyway. Somewhere in tech. data of Eddie i found the engine oil displacement of 5.5 quart. guess that means quart liq. that leads to 5.5 x 0.946 = 5.203 Liters (1,37 gallons). Is that quantity exactly necessary (or even more) or is a standard 5Liters standard canister enough? My dealer recommends oil change all 20.000km (12500mi). Do you agree? Think i read here something about 7500mi (12000km). What would you recommend how often to change the transmission oil? Thanks in advance Greets Marc
  15. Only fitting 20" and bigger! And in my opinion not very nice looking. Is someone to answer my question about the differences between the brakesystems of EDGE with FWD and AWD? Or if AWD brake discs (320mm) are fitting on FWD (295mm)? Thanks Marc
  16. Okay...that is the welcome forum...so... Welcome to this forum! :happy feet: Wish you much fun with your Edge ...although in your place i had waited a few month. :shades: Don`t have any answer to your questions though...i`m sorry. Greets from Germany Marc
  17. Hi, thanks! don`t understand the security function, too. That would be a trick. Clearly visible is that the open/close/stop-positions are steered over relais that seem to be internal of the roof-e-engine (the left one). Changing that engine would delete the positions. But two positions have to stay:...fully open and fully close! Otherwise the e-engine would stay under permanent load and would be not very healthful for car`s electronical system (heat production, battery,...) Greets Marc
  18. i am happy about full operating edge
