I'm another one in this boat. I've got the same smell, and it's been happening since I got the vehicle. (now at 12,000 kms) At first I assumed that it was just something burning off of the exhaust, but since it hasn't gone away I assume it's the same issue.

My Edge gets about 19.5 mpg in the city/commuting, and our last road trip (about 1500 kms) I averaged 21.7 mpg. I have about 8000 kms on it, and it's an sel awd
