Hi, I bought my MKX down south, and I saved I believe around 6-7k compared to a similar one here with aprox. the same mileage and options. In the US, the selections is much greater. Mine was fully loaded, low mileage and mint paint condition. I think its worth it for used cars, but there's lots of paperwork and some headaches.

If i drive strictly in the city, i get a heart breaking 13mpg, and that's even when I try hard not to get over 2k revs leaving red lights or stop signs. Is this normal?? 25mpg is unheard of, even when i drive strictly highway. What could be wrong wit this Lincoln MKX 08?

I'm sadly joining the club... I do not understand how such a poor decision can be made about wheels. If there's something in a car that is subject to most impacts and hazards after the tires, it's the wheels!!!! My MKX is amazing, I like everything about it, except those disappointing wheels. Don't forget that the Navigator has the exact same 20" wheels (but 6 lugs) but in chrome alloy and NOT chrome-clad! Thanks for the reply... where can I find the vitals on those rings and wheel diameters? Its very hard to find online As for Aluminium wheels, I have them on my 8 years old Taurus and I have hit it plenty of times on the curb and what not (with snow covering the curb its not always easy to see your way) and the wheels are still in great shape. Plastic breaks and can't be repaired, aluminium alloy on the other hand can have a wedge but still look good from a couple of feet away.

Hi all, Got my MKX a few weeks ago, and my front right 20" chrome crap (clad) wheel has already chipped from slightly hitting the curb. I'm looking for a definite OEM replacement and I don't want to do anything with clad wheels anymore. Anyone knows if those sick shiny alloy 20" MKT/Flex wheels fit on the MKX? How about that 19' inch on the MKS?? Please see attached photos! Thanks in advance for any tips.

I found out how to resolve my issues and writing them down in case anyone else have similar issues: 1- www.carchex.com will send an inspector on site and road test/inspect the car and send the report by email!! Perfect 2- CT-DMV will issue a in-transit licence for 30 days as long as I have a valid permit and insurance. -
HI everyone, I just bought a '08 MKX in the Hartford, CT area. Anyone from there could point me to a trusted mechanic where I could inspect it? I'm not from around and any help would be appreciated!! Also, if anyone could shed any light, I'm a Canadian but need to drive the car to the border, can the CT-DMV deliver a temporary plate? What choices do I have? Thanks!!!
