try removing battery again and wait 60seconds before reconnecting

my 2013 edge ltd w/mft and nav was receiving text messages and now it does'nt. I tried resettig, removing the phone and re-installing.I made sure my iphone 5 has push notifications on. Any ideas?phone and car have latest updates.

if u are using the factory remote then u have limited distance to start with.I don't know what u paid but for about $350. your ford dealer can install a ford remote start which replaces your keys has extra distance has settings in the instrument cluster and is covered by a ford warranty

no it will not work. the remote start would see two by-passes and they would cancel each other out. If it was an OEM unit it would have key in ignition circuit to prevent the remote srart from activating.

you have an antenna problem

on the screen to the left side of the steering wheel go to settings,vehicle,remote start and you can select what u need.

that would not work because to program a transponder key you have to insert an unprogrammed key in the ignition switch which a push to start car does not have

when the theft light flashes fast it means the bypass for the remote start is not working.it could need reprogramming or replacement

after the unit is installed the tech has to program it with the IDS software. once the car is hooked up to the computer it reads the ford acess system,vehicle info, and it generates a pin number.

if u have it set to temp memory u have it it set to last settings. Set it to auto and the heated seats should come on when needed with remote start

I have not had not had any problems installing any of the bi-directional units.If you do not need bi-directional I would recommendthe series 100 where you get 2 new keys with the 4th button for remote star. you get all the features you are looking for.automatic heated seats,front and rear defrosters and settings in the cluster you can set the way you like. Or you can get the remote acsess unit which can start your car with your smart phone from around the world with confirmation.

I am confused.You post you have a 2013 Edge Limited but the lmited comes with push button start and remote start.

yes,it defenatlely can be wdded to your car after the initial cost to your dealer($500-$600) there i a $50 yearly charge.

The new ford remote starts have a built-in safety feature. You can only start the car twice within 60 minutes unless you cycle the ignition switch on and off. If not on the third attempt to remote start the car the horn will beep to let you know.

you say it goes into programming mode but you cannot code anything else to the car? how was the remote start keys programmed? did you use the IDS and remove all so that when you try to open the doors remotely they do not respond? do this and program the keypad first and your remote start keys next. let us know what happens.

if it was installed correctly the outside will disable the alarm. your ford dealer can order remotes for you or you can check ebay for about half the price.

it sounds like u have an alarm/remote start combo.to make sure of this see if there is an antenna mounted to the windshield some where behind the rear mirror. there should be an .L.E.D. mounted somewhere on the dash. if u do not see it check on the top of steering wwheel cover. I have even seen them mounted in the lower kick area.If youhave all this,it requires a seperate remte which has 4 buttons..

try this sitting in car hold door unlock switch during entire procedure. turn key on and off ( 4,6,or 8 times) when the door locks and unlocks you are in programming.press lock on the 1st key,press lock on the 2nd key press the last 2 buttons on the key pad ( 7/8 & 9/0 ) now you can let go of the unlock button on the door and turn the key off. hope this helps.

if u have access to an IDS go into security , pats programming (which takes 10 minutes) remove all keys and start from scratch. it will tell you u need 2 keys at this time . there is a maximum of 4 keys.

you can add the module and seperate antenna and have two additional 1 button remtes as well .that would incease range to about 700 feet

the edge with the 1 button remote can be made to work with the 4 button intergrated key. since your vehicle already has been activated with an IDS all that has to be done is have the new keys cut and programmed. Now the other edge that has a 4 or 5 button intergrated key w/remote start installed you would need a complete remote start kit (minus antenna and hood switch) installed.

try sitting in the car with all doors hood and tailgate closed.turn key on foot off brake hold button in till horn beeps press and release again you get 4 beeps drivers door unlocck and lock increases and decreases sensitivity.. If this dose't help call 1-800-ford key during business hours
