  1. I wouldn't be disappointed if you didn't get the Sony system. My 2015 Sport has it and it is the one major disappointment. I don't care for high powered over hyped bass and tweeter. But, this system is REALLY boring. Maybe you got lucky and got a different, better system.
  2. I assumed that the Sport mode meant manual paddle shifting only. I will have to give it a try. Thanks.
  3. I love this car. Had a 2010 Edge then 2013. Both nice cars but 3.5 engine a little buzzy, 2013 shifted a lot better than 2010 but still sometimes had to stomp the accelerator to get car to downshift when it should. Also had FWD in both. The 2015 Sport is a completely different car, especially with AWD. Plenty of power, transmission shifts easily and the AWD just feels so much more fun accelerating around turns. I haven't enjoyed a vehicle like this in a long time. Very quiet too. Mine is silver with standard 20" rims and pretty basic - no moon roof, no power lift gate no blindspot mirror. Quite a value for the money, imo.
  4. Thanks for the responses. Regarding the wheels, I heard from a Ford mechanic that they get complaints about those wheels making noise - sort of a hum. Another reason I may do as suggested and see if I can get some different wheels. Unfortunately I'm not currently leasing a Ford but could probably extend the lease on my VW Touareg but that car, as much as I will miss it, is waaaaay expensive to maintain. If I have to put another set of tires on or brakes (both possiblities) the cost would probably be 3 mos. payments on an Edge.
  5. I don't even own an Edge yet BUT I'm looking at leasing one and my wife mentioned this to a patient of hers who is a Ford mechanic at the local dealership. When she asked if they were good cars he said, "Yes, but don't get those clad wheels. We get lots of complaints about them making noise." If you have those 'chrome clad wheels' that might be your problem.
  6. I'm looking at the 2010 Edge. Wish I could hold out for 2011 but my lease expires end of this month so I have to do something. I was hoping to get an SEL but without the so-called chrome clad wheels which look like plastic to me. What is underneath those covers? Is there an alloy wheel beneath that could be polished. Also, my other concern with Edge, in general, is the transmission that has no sport mode or way to get to another gear manually. I live in California and drive over a relatively long grade every day to work. For years I have always had a car that I could kick down into the next lower gear to keep the revs up and stay with traffic. I was considering the Sport model with tighter suspension and bigger wheels but it seems like the inability to use the gears a little would make that option much less attractive. The Edge is my first choice in appearance but these things concern me. Any comments from owners would be greatly appreciated. Bill
