Yesterday I was reading a few posts on the forum and read that someone had an ETA of September 6th. Well after further searching the internet I was on the Ford Media site and they officially announced yesterday August 17th that this past weekend Ford started shipping the new 2011 Edges to dealers in the US and Canada. I tried last week to get the sticker with my VIN number and it said that it wasn’t in the system yet. I tried today and it says that there is an error and that I can’t do it due to a security thing to prevent people from "scrapping large amounts of data" any insight? Also I called the CRC to check and see if they had given an ETA yet only to find out that my build date has been pushed back a week to the week of September 6th now. Anyone else get pushed back?

Just checked with the CRC again today and they said that I got pushed back a week so now I am scheduled for the week of September 6th to be built but there is still no ETA yet.

Glad it worked out for you and you were able to get at least a little more information. I actually called last Friday and they were able to give me my VIN and they told me that mine had just been scheduled to be built the week of 8/30 so it sounds like we will both be getting ours at the same time. My dealer called me last week and said that he should be able to get my VIN to me sometime soon so and they just called me last night again to say that he had just checked and still hadn’t received any information as far as VIN or anything...which I was able to get last week. I didn’t let on as to what I was able to find out I just said let me know when you get anything so I am interested as to how long it will take for him to find out what I have known since Friday. My cousin has an 09 Limited and swears by full synth. saying that she gets 28 Hwy and 21 City which is 3 MPGs over EPA on both. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this or has anyone had the same experience?

Pat, I am from Ohio Between Cleveland and Akron. I may just not know any better but I thought that when they assigned your VIN # that ment that it was scheduled into production at that point. Regardless I would refer to what Akirby and Waldo have posted in the past about the fact that with a later build date you may end up receiving your vehicle prior to those who's were made in July due to any quality control issues that might come up before yours is built. Right now I am just keeping my fingers crossed that if any issues come up that need to be corrected that this happens prior to the end of August so that mine won’t have to be retro fitted and will hopefully ship faster. Frank, I just called the CRC and they said that it was last updated yesterday and it now has a VIN assigned to it. My production date is scheduled for the week of August 30th. I would suggest checking with either your dealer or the CRC to see if yours has been updated yet. If they have it in there they won’t have an ETA on it yet but at least you might be able to get a date for when they are actually making it. Does anyone know if there is a way to get the window sticker now that I have my VIN #?

Where are you located? I ordered a 2011 Kona Blue Edge Limited FWD on June 17th and have yet to receive my VIN. Each time I call to find out they tell me that it is still in order processing. Any insite on how you were able to order yours more than 1 month after me and you already have your VIN and Build date?

Grey, They told me that it was entered and accepted into their system for processing on June 17th which is the day that I ordered it at the dealer. How does the priority work? My order confirmation sheet says Priority: 10. Is this the priority that you are talking about, or is it more of an overall priority that Ford gives to that specific dealer? Thanks ahead of time for any insight that you might be able to provide.

Sounds like you really had twist his arm on that one, lol. You and I are in practically the same boat I had to get rid of my truck the last week of June so I am driving a 2000 Buick Lasaber for the next month which belongs to my 92 year old grandfather who doesn’t drive anymore. Last time I called CRC they told me that my order was received and accepted into processing on June 17th which was the day that I ordered it at the dealer but she said that due to it being summer time and them receiving a lot of orders for vehicles they have been backed up. She also said that it is possible that they have assigned a VIN# and production schedule but there system just hasn’t updated it yet. Anyway the CRC number is 1-800-392-3673 press 1 for English then 5 at second menu 3 and third, 2 and forth and then just stay on the line. If you call early in the morning you can usually get right through but if u call in the afternoon then it is usually a 7 minute or so wait. the dealer code and order number is on the Vehicle order confirmation sheet that you dealer had you sign off on. Mine gave me a copy of it but if yours didn’t you could probably just call and ask them for it.

When did you place your order for your sport? I ordered my 2011 Limited on June 17th and have yet to receive my VIN #. If you placed after that then I would bet that they wont be able to provide you your VIN by Friday as they have promised you. You can also call the CRC if you have your dealer code and order # and they can tell you more accurate information.

Frank, Did he print off the Vehicle Order Confirmation sheet for you? They made me sign it to verify that everything was what I wanted and it should have the pricing on their including the X,Z,A, and D plans the only reason that they wouldn’t be able to give you an exact price would be because they don’t know what the incentives and rebates will be yet. If your dealer did print off the Vehicle Order Confirmation you can call the CRC at 1-800-392-3673 then press 1 at first menu, 5 at second, 3 at third, 2 at forth and then just stay on the line. You will probably have to wait about 7 or 8 minutes on hold but then you can give them the Dealer # and the Order # off of the Order Confirmation sheet and they can tell you when it was actually ordered and where it is at in the process. I think they might also be able to do it with just the dealer # and some of your information but I am not sure. She also said that once the VIN is received you can either have your dealer track it through production or just call them back and they will let you know exactly where it is at. Even give you an ETA once you have the VIN. JGilles

Well the thing is I am starting to get the feeling that my dealer didn’t order it right away after I put down my deposit and signed off on it. I don’t want to sound like I am being impatient but I ordered it the middle of June and haven’t gotten any information yet. How long does an order usually take to get through processing and get assigned an VIN#?

Has anyone received any updates as to when we can expect delivery?

LOWESDELL, Grocery Getter, I was in the same position you both are in. I was tired of waiting and each time I asked my dealer if he had any new info he had nothing. Finally after reading tons of info and posts about pricing and other info I found out that even if the pricing isn’t on the website or the dealer doesn’t have order sheets yet they can give you a price buy doing a preliminary order for you. The only thing that they won’t be able to guarantee about the pricing are the incentives, if any, that will be offered at the time of delivery. What I ended up doing is going to Cars.com and priced it on there, just because I was curious if it was accurate, and found that the price was only off by a couple hundred dollars which was mainly due to the delivery fees and other misc charges. If you are looking specifically at the Sport then you are going to have to wait until they hit the showrooms to see if you are going to like it because of the different engine and slightly different suspension tuning. If you are considering any of the other models then you could probably just test drive a 2010, seeing as the differences in handling are going to be negligible to the average driver, and seeing as how most of the changes in the vehicle its self are the new grill/ front end appearance and the dash/center stack equipment. Also as long as the plant does start full production of the 2011's today as scheduled then they should have some rolling off the line in 2 days. The dealers are able to get updates on production on Fridays so hopefully we should all have more of an idea of timing by early next week. Hope this helps out or at least gives you a little insight.

Blue oval had an article saying that the 2011 Edge was going to have the best in class fuel economy at 18city and 27 highway but if you go onto fords Blackberry site they have the EPA listed at 18 & 25. Anyone have any insight on this? Also has anyone heard of a target ship date for all of Job1?

My dealer confirmed with me yesterday that Job one does start July 12th but he wasn’t sure as to what the delivery date will be. He said that when the Fusions came out they were delivered a lot later then they had originally thought because Ford wanted all the dealers to get them at the same time. He also told me that he hadn’t received pricing guides yet for the 2011's so if I were to order it today I wouldn’t now what it was going to cost me until he gets a pricing guide. Where you able to get all of the pricing information prior to ordering?
