  1. Research has shown that the FM adapter will tune down to 87.5mhz. There are no FM stations below 87.9, and there are only 2 on that frequency-both in California. I am in the Southeast, and travel only to Texas, so no problem with local station conflicts.... USB cable has the best sound quality, so I will try that first.
  2. No, I understand what the device is and does. But, if your radio is tuned to the frequency of the adapter, will it not be interfered with if there is a local FM station on the same frequency? The ad states: "QUITE EASY USE - Insert the 3.5mm plug into your device just as you would a pair of headphones. Turn on the transmitter and set it to an FM frequency that's not in use in your area. " While travelling, FM stations come and go.....
  3. I just keep going further down the rabbit hole. An AB that I just copied onto the MP3 player only appears in an MTP folder... I will know more when my audio jack to USB cable arrives.
  4. Only fly in that ointment is that we listen to the AB's while travelling.....an FM frequency not in use here may have stations come and go as we traverse the territory....... That could prove to be a distraction while driving.
  5. Now I enter into yet another spec: audiobook file transfer protocol. I want to use .mp3 format. But, the transfer protocol in which the mp3 player downloads files from the computer is either MTP or MSC protocols. I do not know if the Edge audio system will recognize and play files transferred using either, or, of both... Geez I wish this thing had a CD player.....
  6. When we returned from traveling on Sunday, the driver's door handle lock bezel was missing.... I would have noticed if it had been gone when we last stopped, about 50 miles from home. Seems to me that those things have to be pried off........ Anyway, I ordered a new one...about $17.00. Not bad, but........... It is primed and will need to be painted... A can of Duplicolor costs as much as the bezel itself........
  7. Ii it was music, I would have no problem. I am doing audio books, and playing tracks in order is kinda important....
  8. The point be moot........the MP3 player with Bluetooth stated that it could not be played thru the car stereo via BT....... So, NEVERMIND !!
  9. I wish that it did....... I have renumbered tracks 01, 02, 03, etc, but the audio system still reads as 1, 10, 11, etc. This is using .WMA format I think...... The Edge audio does not like the #4 in MP3....... It will play track 1, then 2, then 3 then 5......It will skip 8 as well. Same goes for disc #..Disc 1, then 2 then 3, then move on to a completely different book !! I am considering an MP3 player, but need to connect to USB from an audio out (head phones ) jack. If I playback via Bluetooth, i believe I will not be able to use my cell phone for navigation... Why can't anything...... JUST WORK ?????
  10. Call me a dummy........but, I feel the only stupid question is one not asked... If I use Bluetooth for MP3 player playback, does this eliminate the ability to use my Iphone on the navigation on screen?
  11. .WAV files will play in order.............except............. The dreaded track numbering system rears its ugly head. Track #1 will play, then jump to Track #10,11,12..etc. I have put zeros in front.........the audio system just ignores them. Plays 1, 10, 11 etc..... I have even renumbered the tracks to start with 11,but the audio system ignores that. Must be something in the ID Tags.......... Next up will be an MP3 player thru USB Then using Blu Tooth. But I am concerned that using BT for audio will not allow using my cell ph. for calls or nav.............
  12. I am thinking that the problem may lie with the use of .MP3 files. I am going to try .WAV or .WMA formats. If that doesn't work, i may pursue copying software better suited to the task. Or, someone suggested using an MP3 player... Gotta be a way...
  13. Here is a new wrinkle: I can play tracks in order, EXCEPT playback will skip track 4 and 8 (no track 11, so dunno....) And, the Edge will plat discs 1,2,and 3 then omit disc 4 and 5..... I think it has a problem with the number 4.. I spent about an hour on the phone with Ford Customer Support today and HE can't figure it out, either.... WHY do these things always happen to ME ???
  14. Owners manual?? Useless.....it pretty much says plug it in and play.... Guess i gotta call Ford support again....
  15. My 2024 Edge SEL does not have a CD player...none do. We have a ton of audiobooks on CD that we listen to when traveling. I tried an external CD player but it would not work in the Edge. Sooooooooooo, I copied 25 audio books from CDs to flash drive. converting to MP3 format, FAT 32 filing system on the thumb drive. USB 2.0 When inserted, the files do not come up with the same structure as the USB drive displays on my PC. I do NOT have random play enabled. The playback started automatically with a book way down the list. I manually advanced the tracks, but, after disc 3 (out of 5) it moved to another book! But I cannot figure out haw to play the tracks in order. I have played with the repeat setting, and sometimes the book will move to the nest track, but then i twill jump 2 tracks the nest time.... When playing with this before, somewhere I had come across a menu of settings, one of which was "Play All" That had worked, but I am not able to find that menu now..... SOMEWHERE there is a menu............... How does the USB device interface with SYNC ?? Thanks for any help......
  16. I've burned a few MP3 disks for my 2010 Edge w/single play CD/MP3 player. If the desk contains more than 255 tracks, my player will not play anything higher than T255 in track mode, or F3 T57 in Folder mode. There are 495 tracks and 500 mb or so in the disk. I have it divided into 5 folders (source disks) each having 99 tracks. The owner's manual stated that, in Folder mode, the player should go up to F253 T 255, but mine does not. Is anybody else experiencing this? How about a suggestion for a cure? Thanks.
