ctrcbob Posted February 16, 2007 Report Share Posted February 16, 2007 Cost. Simple as that. I have the "Extra cost option HID (low beam) headlights in my MKZ. Would rather have had the standard QI Bulbs, but the car had them and the car was in stock. It is my understanding that it is a lot easier changing the QI lamps, but then again, it is also my understanding that the HID bulbs last longer. HID lamps may be nice, but I'm really not impressed with them. I see just as well at night with my Continentals QI lamps as with my MKZs HID's.
