sportspice
PLEASE HELP ME WITH SOME ANSWERS -- Looking for some answers that seem to be impossible to find. Replacing the Rear Diff Clutch and there was lube in the case when I dropped it. I am thinking that case is supposed to be dry. I am in question as to if the clutch pack has lube inside it and that is what I am seeing OR is the seal between that housing and the diff housing leaking and I'm seeing rear diff gear lube? I bought a new clutch pack off ebay. Rear diff sounds good, we had the popping and shuddering in low speed parking lot maneuvers which from all I have read indicates the clutch is shot. I know what bad diff bearings sound like and its clean sounding. There is no highway noise from the rear diff. There seems to be no seal kit available that would seal the two housings from each other. All online info is pretty vague.
sportspice
OK, so I "THINK" I may be understanding this now but CAN SOMEONE CONFIRM? I think the coupler (pic below) is supposed to be oil filled and if you find oil in the front case that it resides in, it confirms the coupler is shot?
