I was wondering if Ford has a PTU cooling duct for the Edge like the Explorer one. I have a 2018 Edge Titanium 3.5l. I also saw a thread where some PTU's had an electric fan attached to the PTU. Have you climbed under and inspected your PTU? I guessing your year is before they started addressing the PTU heat issues, but maybe worth a check.
