  1. Thank you so much for breaking that down for me. I just don't understand why Ford would do that, unless there is a safety issue?? I am recently questioning why I bought a Ford product, other than the fact that it was in my heart to buy an American built (assembled) vehicle, Especially with all the reliability issues compared to the foreign competition. I really love my Edge ST! I am blown away EVERY time I drive it. I sure hope I made a good decision.
  2. Sorry for being ignorant, but what does this mean in journeyman's terms. What would the reason be for ford to do this? I have a 2024 model, so I am curious to what is going on with Ford.
  3. There's a very good chance that the new tires and alignment will cure the issue.
  4. I bought a 2021 ST and it was delivered to me in September of 2021, which means it was probably one of those timebombs. It had some weird transmission issues which scared me and they could never resolve, so I traded it in for a 2024 last year. Looks like I may have dodged a bullet.
  5. Jetboy 47, I recently acquired a FT4Z-581178-C and have a 2024 ST. A big Thank You to rafeeki for selling me his extra one! I have not yet installed it, but from my measurements and visual observation, it will work. The screw holes and light plug cut out match up. I may have to do some slight modification to the center area around the hitch, but it is plastic and can be cut out very easily. I am planning an install soon and will post my results. If you can get either one (-C or -D) I believe the D would be the exact fit and no modification would be needed. But since they no longer exist, get whichever one you can at this point. I was just at my local ford dealership and there were 2 2024's on the floor. Both of them were missing this part. Shame on Ford for doing this to a brand-new vehicle.
  6. Might have got a little off track. I was referring to the hood insulator blanket. Not the engine cover, although it does look pretty nice. The hood insulator blanket doesn't do much for sound, but it looks so much better. Also, I think it protects the paint from heat damage. Thank you to this forum!!
  7. So sad to see Ford delete needed items from newer model year vehicles, shame on Ford.
  8. I agree. With tires you get what you pay for. I was lucky enough to attend the Ford ST/SUV experience in Park City Utah and put the ST with P Zero tires to the test. It was about 75/78 degrees, and they are awesome in warm weather. They stick like glue. Hard to break free until you force them. I only have about 6800 miles on my ST so I don't have much input on the lifespan, guess it depends on how hard you drive. I live in so Cal so they are good tires for year around use. They do seem a bit rough riding and noisy, but I don't have anything to base that on. I do plan on replacing them with Scorpion Zero all season tires when the time comes. From what I have been able to research they are a good all-season alternative and give good all-around performance.
  9. Thank you for all the great info. Haz directed me to another thread, and I was able to locate one through another forum member. The part number he has is KT4Z-5811778-C which I believe can be easily modified to fit. I too had to order and install the missing hood insulator blanket. In addition, the little rubber mat that goes in the forward passthrough of the center console was missing. It was about 45 bucks! And the little plastic tray that goes in the center console wasn't there. What a joke. Shame on Ford for doing this. Do they really want vehicles out on the road with missing parts? Let alone parts of the vehicle flapping around while driving down the highway? Sad.
  10. Davidoo could you give me the part number. Mine has the factory installed tow package.
  11. Rafeek, I just noticed the same thing on my new 2024 Edge ST. and I too have temporarily secured it with cable ties. My St does have the tow package and could you give me any additional information on where to get this part. Thanks so much
  12. I have a 2024 Edge ST with the factory installed tow package. I was under the rear of the vehicle doing an inspection and there appears to be a missing part. A heat shield. Where the rear muffler pipes branch off and head out of the trapezoid exhaust trim pieces. It looks like it would protect the rear lower bumper and lower trim pieces from excessive heat. There are attachment points to the lower bumper trim panel but no shield. I tried looking up parts diagrams and cannot find this rear heat shield but have seen it in exhaust installation/removal videos on YouTube. I am thinking Ford may have discontinued installing this part on newer ST models but didn't know if anyone had any additional information. For reference it would attach to the back side of the lower gray bumper trim piece that has the exhaust tip diffusers.
  13. I am pretty sure the little 4 banger is going to be louder and vibrate more than your V6 was. I have watched a few YouTube videos and you can hear the difference between the 2.0 and the 2.7 in the ST. My 2021 ST came without he hood insulator. apparently they stopped putting them in at a certain point. I ended up ordering one from the dealer and installed it myself as it came with the clips. Even though it is under the hood, it just didn't look right without it. Even though I did it for cosmetic reasons, I may have noticed a small amount of sound reduction, but the 2.7 V6 is pretty quiet so I am not sure how much difference it would make. But worth it if you ask me.
  14. Found it! Tighten the bolts holding the fabric material to the fender well and it is gone! I sent you a personal message and here are the pictures. Jiggle the area where my hand is and you should hear the sound. tighten the bolts about a half turn.
  15. Not to get off track here, but did you notice the electric motor in line to one of the cooing hoses attached to the cooler? I was more curious about it and one day I climbed under the car right after I shut it off. I heard the electric motor running, circulating coolant through the PTU. Hot coolant is circulated through the PTU after shutting down. I don't have any info at what point the electric motor turns on and off and what temperature, but if the Hot coolant is used to cool the PTU, that thing must get pretty darn hot! Interesting...
