  1. I don't have an explanation, but on my 2021 St, it had the 401A and performance brake and tire package. It did have the heated steering wheel. In 2021 the Edge came with the new 12" touchscreen, so it is different than the 2020. Make a post to the Ford Edge Forum, you will get a lot more info.
  2. I'm going to be so far of base, only because I am guessing. But if at any time the Evap Canister got saturated by fuel, (topping off, stuck solenoid, failure etc) it could cause the symptoms you mentioned. Being that it only happens when you fill up, could the canister be an issue????
  3. I purchased the Ford extended warranty and one of the items that is not covered, the Flywheel Ring Gear. Red flag to me. If it saves you money on fuel that is definitely a plus, although at idle there is hardly any fuel being used. I just can't imagine that over time, the mechanical wear and tear would override the fuel savings. I read the system was forced on the automobile industry by the Federal Government to help with emissions and save on fuel consumption. Combine that with the erratic shutting off/starting of the vehicle (remember the transmission is still in gear) I'm just so glad we have the option to deactivate it on start-up. Especially in warm weather. Gotta be a bit taxing on the AC system?? Thanks for all the different opinions on this. Please correct me if I am wrong on any of this.
  4. I think auto start stop is nothing more than a way to prematurely wear out your battery, starter and flywheel ring gear. You don't save any fuel and it is nothing more than a scam. Be glad it does not work. In the end, you will save money.
  5. Also try double clicking the ESC button twice to put the Advancetrac into sport mode. Kind of a hidden gem of the Edge St that is not in the owner's manual. I live in warm weather (So Cal), and I got the optional performance brake and wheel package. The 21" Pirelli PZeros are like glue! My 2019 Fiesta ST handled like a go cart! But the Edge St is a performance beast for sure!
  6. Does it happen when the engine is not running, when power is on (in accessory mode)? I guessing something related to climate control system.
  7. Yes, Thank you for all the great information. One thing I don't quite understand, Ford recommends using their brand of Semi Synthetic oil. I know they want to sell product, but why wouldn't they recommend full synthetic. I asked the dealer and they said it is what ford recommends. Seems like with a twin turbo high rpm application, full synthetic would be the way to go??
  8. One thing that is kind of funny, by removing the EDGE badge a lot of people don't know what it is. Kind of mystery vehicle, had a guy walk up to me and ask what is that? I Jokingly told him it was a FORD ST. Special high performance! We had a good laugh. I would never remove the ST badge, proud to have it! One thing I see that I don't quite understand people blacking out the FORD blue oval. Not sure why people like doing it, looks funny to me. Guess it all boils down to personal preference.
  9. I think there would be a lot of factors attributed to how much oil you would see in a catch can. How many miles are on the vehicle, driving conditions, how the vehicle is driven and maybe even type of oil would be factors?? I have a 2024 Edge St and I plan to do more research before I decide if I will install one. One thing I thought about, wouldn't this oil have some benefit to provide lubrication to the intake valve? I know the carbon buildup is an issue, but the amount of buildup seems to vary greatly from brand of vehicle and model of vehicle. In other words, it seems to not be an issue with certain brands/types of direct injection vehicles. Maybe some would benefit from a catch can, and some would benefit from the lubrication??? I don't know much about it to give an honest opinion.
  10. Haz, thank you so much for the info. According to the PTU diagram, mine should have a drain plug. That sure would be nice with all the PTU horror stories I've heard about. I hear a lot of negatives regarding the belt driven oil pump, but from some of what I have read, it seems to not have issues as long as the recommended (Ford) motor oil is used and changed on a regular basis. I have been going about 4 thousand on my oil change intervals and the Ford dealer is using the synthetic blend. They claim it is the oil recommended by the manufacturer. Makes me wonder if low quality oils and long oil change intervals are a root cause of oil pump belt failures. Makes sense.
  11. I just recently purchased a new 2024 edge ST. How do I find out what model transmission I have? It is the 7 speed. Also, is there a way to know what PTU I have? It is the liquid cooled PTU. The reason I am asking, it looks like there are a couple different ones that could be used?? Maybe I am wrong. Also, does my 2.7 have the belt driven oil pump?? Thanks for any info. James
  12. It seems to happen so fast, it's hard to differentiate between each speaker. I sat in each individual seat and put my ear to each individual speaker (all 12) and waited for the test signal to 'pass by' so I could verify. Thanks, Haz for the speaker location breakdown. Nice to have.
  13. Well unfortunately It cannot be shipped to California due to our CARB regulations. What a bunch of BS! Not sure if someone makes a CARB compliant oil catch can or not.
  14. I was hoping you guy could point me in the right direction. I went on the J&L website. Looks like they are mostly for Mustang's and wondered what specific model to get. Thanks
  15. That's good news to hear. Nice pictures too! I hear so many pros and cons about the 2.7 but it seems to have proven itself over the years. Seems like if you DON'T follow the recommended maintenance schedule, they will go a long time. I get the oil changes every 4K max (not the recommended 5K). Plan on getting the PTU and RDU fluid changed every 20k (instead of the recommended 30K).
