I recently had my 2011 Edge Sport in the body shop for a quote on some repairs. I have a slight crack where i must have hit something on the right hand rocker moulding near the rear wheel and I was told (correctly or incorrectly) that ford do not have a specific part for the 14 or so clips that hold the sport rocker molding to the body. They then said there was a 50/50 chance they could remove it to fix from behind without breaking the clips and was told i would need to buy the whole part to get the actual replacement clips. To be honest i find this a croc, but the body shop seems reputable. I've also had a look at a parts manual and it seems to confirm this. Someone in this great community must know of somewhere i can get the part. I did find Grainger Industrial supply out the us US (i am in canada) with part 5ZLY0, but i am not sure if this is suitable for the sport, it does mention 2007 Ford Edge MKX. There was a post by shantz who coloured the black limited moulding and a pic of a clip, so hopefully on the right track. You assistance is much appreciated, since i do not want to have to pay $1300 and complete moulding (with clips) that should only cost $20 Adam

I haven't tried that recently, but don't think it will make any difference. The last time i did, the fuse came flying out and i had no nav and a HVAC on max high until i found a dealer. $10 later No Happy. Could Ford include a fuse puller?????

Hey there Guys, So a few months ago i performed the since install 2.11 Upgrade. Previous to this version 2.7 i had no major issues. This current version has given me no end of grief. Constant SD Nav issues, long response times and recently constant System Maintenance. To the point today when it crashed, did a reboot, then crashed as soon as i tried to change the radio channel, then another reboot. I have tried to insert the USB stick to "Reload" the firmware, since i think there is a serious issue with the install, but nothing happened. On my computer, I have a file called autoinstall.lst and s SyncMyRide directory with a whole bunch of BT4T plus a cleancache, installationhelper and masterresetvcaflush. Do i need another files to force a reinstall? Adam

I've had 3 major upgrades, 1.8,2.7 and 2.11. By far 1.8 was the best for the nav. Since 2.7 i have had i take up to 5 minutes for it to figure out where the hell it is (funnily i cannot change channel with the seek button on the wheel also). Its getting quite bad now, have to do either master reset or fuse 29 almost every week. Yesterday i had to pull the fuse because i had this stupid box in the middle of the screen which would not let it search or drive to destination properly. In the process of pulling the fuse it popped out and i lost it, major headache and $10 from ford for a replacement!!!

I most certainly have had this issues. And it was especially embarrassing when this happens while people are watching and it is raining! I've had issues with the roof not closing all the way - Took it into ford and they re-initialized the closing setting - That problem was at least solved. The issue you have described has happened to me a couple of times???

I was running v2.8 and the Nav would take 5-10 minutes to kick in. I got seriously pissed with it. I pulled the fuse a couple of times and did a master reset a couple of times and wow what a difference it made. Fast, responsive and quick to load. You have to rememeber these things are running a computer with apps on top of it, sometimes it needs a good reboot etc for the glitches to be removed. I would suggest this before anything else.

It looks great. Is it better than when you got it? So, how many hours did it take to get it like this? I think with all the products etc, i would take the lazy approach and just pay someone to do it!

Just an update. After a sunroof initialization (wasn't told this was done), but believe so since i found the pages from the workshop manual on the passengers seat, I have no problems. Screw the idea of have my baby in their workshop for two days while the rip down the headlines to "fully investigate". Adam

I've just had mine in yesterday for the Sunroof to get looked at, as well as nav problems. They said there was no update and suggested the SD card fault problems were because the card was popping out while driving. One small problem when there is the fault before the car has moved. Taking the card in and out doesn't solve the problem.

I have a similar problem with my 2011 Edge Sport. Sometimes on the way home from work it slows and stops 1/2 to 2/3 of the way closed. If i wait and try again it may get 7/8 of the way closed, but never fully. If i leave the car overnight, then try again as soon as i start the car, it normally works. I have booked an appointment with Ford for next week, but wondering if this will work for the current model? Adam

I am not sure if i would count the first couple as unacceptable, but i can say i am having the same lag time on startup. Having come from 1.8 it is quite noticable and this is really bad if you jump in the car, nav to a favourite destination then drive off. Regarding the liftgate closing i can only say that i broke the back molding (above the licence plate) off when it popped back up when i started the car and i reversed out of my garage without noticing. THIS WAS MY FAULT, but not happy. Regarding your software bugs - software is software, regardless on the device etc. I guess since we spend soo much more on a car we expect better. But the only way to sort out bugs is to give it to the hands of users for them to do crazy and illogical stuff, that developers would never contemplate doing.

I recently came back from a long haul trip and noticed a fair amount of tar around the front wheels. I thought a good o' wash would fix it. Nope. Went to Canadian Tire and purchased Automotive Goo-Gone. Followed the instructions, but it did not remove the large amounts on the inside wheel arch. Any other suggestions? Euchalyptus Oil??

I recently had mine upgraded from 1.8 to 2.8. It had a ford recall, so i got my car cleaned inside and out and a loan car over the weekend since they had dramas downloading and installing from the server? I have not really noticed anything different in terms of speed. The Cross-Traffic now beeps and is very sensitive (a car approx 10m away set it off??) The one thing i have noticed is how slow it is to react when first switched on. If i start the car then go immediately into Navigation and search for a destination, it takes approx 2-3 minutes before anything happens. I used this many times on a recent trip and was wondering was it was SO CRAP. Or i would navigate to a previous destination and take the same time to show me where i was going. Lucky i also have Tomtom on my Iphone. Any other people seen this? or suggest a fix?
