To the OP -> Be patient. read my thread on my issues, which are getting worse: IA keys not working These cars have many issues that havent been resolved so hopefully by the time you get yours, they will have been. And once you do get yours, before driving it off the lot, make sure your keys work. If they don't, then don't accept it as you'll have a mountain of headaches coming.

So here is my update after just over a month of owning the vehicle. Its been in to service 4 or 5 times already. They have replaced parts, they have tried a slew of different things to no avail. I am in communication with ford Canada. I am pushing them to do something b/c this is their problem, not the delearships. This car should NEVER have left the factory in this condition. I made them give me a rental and told them to hang on to my car for days until they can figure something out. So now i dont even have my new vehicle. I have a bottom line fusion, no where near the class/safety of the vehicle i purchased. My edge now also has the white screen problem, which is common in 2011 edge's, which you can research on syncmyride forums (just search white screen). I am IRATE as a customer! This is absolutely ridiculous the amount of effort I am being asked to put forth for a brand new vehicle. If anyone reads this, i highly recommend not buying this car as their are too many problems. Build me a new f#$%kin car Ford!!!!! I am NOT your beta tester! Anyone have any advice on how to proceed here? I got a call from service to swap my rental for my edge (still not fixed) b/c they now think its the keys and have ordered me new keys, but there is no stock in North America and it'll take about 2 weeks to get in new keys. F!k you Ford, go 30kms to Oakville and pick up a set from there as I am SURE they have them there, otherwise they arent producing cars every 50secs. Bullsh!t! You are actually the second person to mention the antenna. I've contacted service to see if they have tried/checked that. The keys lock out everywhere, not just at one location. Both keys lock out, not just one or the other. It's not a battery problem b/c once the doors have been unlocked, you can take the keys far away and they will work, so obviously the strength in the battery is there.

Where can I get all weather mats cheap in Canada for my 2011 Ford Edge?

They do stop working after a certain amount of time of inactivity. I'm not sure what that time is, but i would say its about 10mins. What do you think this means? No interior lights are on as I would see these lights as i leave the car correct? Thanks. Tried this in the car. The isnt the problem. Is there a way to put the key fobs into valet mode?

Exactly, the remotes are being locked out after a certain amount of time (not sure how long) after the car is shut off and locked. The car recognizes the keys but they are locked out until i manually open the door. Then they work fine. I can then remote start, lock/unlock and power liftgate. Once i shut off the car engine, i can still lock the doors using the remote or any other method. Once some time has passed, the remotes are then locked out.

Can someone please explain to me how to check if my car is in valet mode? Maybe thats the problem here. I've read through the literature and nothing there explains how to turn it on/off or check. THX.

Since the car doors have been opened manually, locking the car from the key fob does work. I shoul;dnt have to create a mykey since at this point both keys should be admin keys. Neither work properly though. Both have the same issue.

Hi All, Just got my 2011 edge. We love it!!! Absolutely love it! BUT The IA Key just isnt working. We have the drivers entry package so we have the remote start, and the power liftgate and push button start. The key does not power start the car, it does not lock the doors or unlock the doors, it does not open the power liftgate, and it does not sound the panic alarm button. None of these features work remotely. If i have the key in my pocket, and grab the door handle, the doors DO unlock. The car does start with the keys in the car. Thats the reason we didnt notice this while at the dealership, b/c the car was working. It just seems like remotely the IA keys have been locked out or something. To make things more confusing, once the doors are open, all functions on the IA keys work. I can remote start, lock/unlock, open liftgate and panic. What do i need to do here to fix this? Help please. The dealer is 350kms away, so i hope i can fix this easily myself. Thanks.

It's out of town so I cant get there until Sat Oct 30th, but at least i know i'll have it in less than 2 weeks, not in Dec. which is what Ford told me. Yippie! What do I need to make sure of when I go pick up the car? i.e. Fluids topped up, etc. What's the break in period for these cars and what does it entail? I need to drive it about 400kms just after i pick it up to come home. How fast can i drive it on the highway? Thanks.

When you say ordered, do you mean ordered from the dealer or when the dealer placed the order with Ford? How do you both know when it was assembled?

Called Ford today to get an ETA on the delivery of my EDGE. She told me that it takes 8 weeks from when they get the order, whcih they received on Oct 4th. So instead of end of OCT beginning of Nov, now it looks like end of DEC for delivery. Is that correct? She said the dealer should have told me 8-12 weeks, not 6-8.

Same with me, except i did put down a deposit. I agree. That is ridiculous. What's the point of signing a deal if you don't really know what the final price is? I am in Ontario as well. I understand that the rules in Ontario (and maybe Canada) are different than the US. I would really hate buying a vehicle in the US if those were the rules. Come to Ontario to buy your car...or...remember that we pay a sh1t load more for our vehicles than you do. AND the Edge is assembled 30kms from my house for *$%^ sakes! Signed happily/excitedly waiting for my Edge.

I wish it would be ready in a week. Realistically i think I am looking more at end of Oct - beg of Nov. Any earlier is welcome. i actually ordered it from a dealer out of town (windsor) b/c the salesman gave me a far better deal than anyone else. Over $1000 cheaper than the next closest dealer. It was a no brainer. We purchased the 2011 SEL AWD Driver's entry package Canadian Comfort package (as I am all about the Vista roof) Sync White tri-coat exterior Black leather interior (mainly so my 9 month old and baby on the way dont ruin the seats. )

Hi all, Was looking at a used Edge for a while, then accidentally stepped into a 2011 and there was no going back. Plus all the incentives and rebates just made the deal a must. We purchased about 2-3 weeks ago with an expected delivery of 6-8 weeks. I now have the VIN number. Just wondering if there is anywhere beyond the dealer to get a more up to date delivery date? How long are people waiting for their Edge's to arrive. I'm in Vaughan, ON about 40kms from the Oakville plant where they are being assembled. BTW - Anyone lucky enough to go to the plant to see theirs being assembled? D

Hi all, I ordered my 2001 Edge about 2-3 weeks ago. I have the VIN number now. Is there any way to find out what the estimated delivery date would be? I ordered from out of town so i would need to plan to go pick it up so as much notice as possible would be great since i would also need a few days to get my finances prepared before leaving to pick it up. Plus i'm really excited. The delearship doesnt know yet and i called Ford Canada and they gave me no useful info, plus they said to contact the dealer. THX

Ordered my 2011 SEL AWD with drivers entry package, canadian comfort and sync. White with black exterior. Very excited!!! Will take about 6-8 weeks to arrive. Can't wait! Does anyone know if the rear-view camera is included in the SEL or is that only in the Limited models?

Can anyone confirm that the SEL AWD comes with cruise control? From what i remember the buttons are all there on the wheel, but i don't see it mentioned in the brochure. Thanks

Hi all, First time posting. We've been looking at an edge for a while and were looking recently at the 2010's. We accidentally stepped into a 2011 model and couldnt believe how much nicer it looked on the inside so we're now considering that. We got a dealer quote yesterday for both (no haggling at the time) and the difference in price was about 2800, which to me is just the depreciation of one year. I'm going to post what the quote was and see what users think of it and how much play we have on the 2011 model. The quoted us on a model on the lot. Black on black. -AWD SEL -Canadian comfort package -sync Ford employee price of about $36000, about $40,700 after tax -$1000 costco discount -$1000 finance credit -$2000 RYR (we are giving up a 2001 grand am GT with 280000kms) Total of about $36700 on the road. My questions: -how much play do we have on this? Taking this number down to about 35000 would make me happy. Would i be able to get it that low? -This is a car on the lot. Would we get the exact same pricing if we ordered one, since black on black isnt our first preference. -Would we be able to make a better deal for both us and the dealer if we ordered one and added the $1000 driver entry package since my wife wants the remote start? And by better deal i mean more than 35000, but we get more features. -anything else i should ask for in lieu of dropping the price like free floor mats, free oil changes for a year? Thanks. Great forum! EDIT: Forgot to mention that my plan was to pay most of it cash, but leave a small amount to their financing so that i could get the $1000 discount. The minimum they say you need to leave it in their is 3 months, at which time i will pay it all off and use my own line of credit where the interest rate is A LOT cheaper. Any problems doing this? I figure the interest i would lose in the 3 months will be about $100 - 150 depending on how much they say i must finance to qualify, which means i'd still be ahead about $850-900 with the $1000 discount.
