  3. See that's the problem is that I don't want to spend $170 US or over $200 CAD on the weathertech mats. I'm in Toronto so not sure how much is a lot of snow where the ford mats wont work. Is it b/c they don't cover the whole area like the weathertech ones? So i may get salt stains?
  4. Where in Canada or US can i get good all weather mats that fit well in my 2011 Edge? I don't want to spend over $100 on the WeatherTech ones. The Ford mats are $91.43 for the set of 3. Are they good? How do they compare to the ones from WeatherTech? Thanks.
  5. I'd like to know what the latest version is as well. Everytime I bring the car in they either don't do the sync update or do the wrong one. Last week when i was in there they said they installed the latest one. I ran the checker on suncmyride and all items in my history now say Gen 2 v1.8. I've seen others talk about v2.4. I don't know what the latest version is and my nite lite is still there. I refuse to bring it in yet again just for sync as i've spent WAY too much time there in the 3-4months i've had this car. Can someone please confirm what the latest version is? I am in Canada. Is there a different version for Canadians and Americans? THX
  6. Had the car in service for about 8hrs today. Came home anc used the checker on suncmyride to check my status. All items in my history say Gen 2 1.8 now. WTF! Nite light is still there and isnt the most recent version 2.4? Why aren't they installing the right file? I am SO annoyed with this.
  7. In Canada, does the SEL AWD edge have an option to get the park assist? I assume it doesn't come standard. I don't see the option on any trim level on Canadian versions of the edge.
  8. I agree. I wouldn't mind the computer telling me when to go but i haven't had good experiences with that on other cars. Our trade-in car had the same system and it was shotty at best, so i would just go by time/kms anyways. What level should the oil be at before the warning comes on? ~30%? 0%?
  9. Hi all, I just hit 5000KMs and 3 months with my edge. I see in the manual it says to wait until the indicator int he car tells you to go in for an oil change. I'd prefer to know how long that would/should take. The norm on every other car i've driven is 3 months or 5000kms. Especially the first should come sooner rather than later. Can anyone tell me what the proper sched should look like? Obviously i'm in Canada. Thanks.
  10. Service manager confrimed on the phoen yesterday that the update i wanted was NOT done. When i brought it in, supposedly Ford pulled back the update for some reason so they couldnt do it. Whatever. Next time he says he'll make sure to get it in.
  11. Hi all, Can someone please help give me the contact info for someone who can actually do something at Ford Canada? I'm closing in on 3 months of a problem in a car that should never have been delivered (link) and I'm just sick of chasing the dealerships, going back and forth, calling ford customer service and not getting any results. I want to get LOUDER and make more noise b/c I want this problem taken care of yesterday. I want to send a letter to someone (or more than 1 person) at Ford Canada, the owner of the dealership that i bought the car from and I will end up forwarding the letter/results to the local newspaper and give them bad press so they will do something about this.   12. I did the USB checker again last night and got the same results. So i guess that means they didnt do the proper update. :S tsk tsk. Why oh why do we have to walk these service guys through everything? I even gave them the printout showing what to do, like c'mon!

  14. I was using firefox and now just checked it in IE and the same result on both. I did use the USB status checker tool and thats what shows that AJ was instaleld yesterday and says that nothing else is in the queue for me.
  15. All other lights are off, interior and exterior, but the white screen remains. So they should all go off at the same time or within seconds of each other. I'm sure the 10min (or 20min whatever) power saver does eventually turn off the screen, but its still a glitch that should be fixed. It looks liek the sync update i got from the dealer yesterday was AJ, not BD or BE. But syncmyride isnt showing anything ourstanding for my vehicle. :S So confused!
  16. I just did the dealer install today. The update number is BT4T-14D544-AJ. The number on the sheet I printed from syncmyride and brought to the dealer was BT4T-14D544-BD. And my update page says this in the bottom right corner: Sync Version1.3 Confirmed installations BT4T-14D545-BA BT4T-14D546-AD BT4T-14F496-AD BT4T-14F497-AD Waiting to download 0 items. I don't understand if I received the latest update since others posted it took hours to install and mine didnt take very long at all.
  17. ^^^Many who have had the software upgrade have said that it did solve the white screen issue. I just got the update today and the white screen issue still occurs for me. :S Now i'm not sure if they actually gave me the correct update and will need to check that as all my settings were retained.
  18. Latest update: Ford ordered new keys which took about 5 weeks to come in. Tried them, and of course that wasnt the problem. And now we're back to square one. ^^^I took a look in the fuse panel for something along the lines of what you are talking about and could not find anything. I asked a friend who works at a subaru/hyundai dleaership and he said the only switch that he can think of is the showroom switch, but when this is turned off nothing works. Was it just your keys that weren't working or was your dome light and radio etc not working as well? Can anyone tell me if such a switch exists in the 2011 Edge? Please, i'm desparate as i've been driving a defunct car since Oct 30, had it in to service a bunch of times and am just plain sick and tired of thinking about this and there is no resolution in site.
  19. Thanks all. I'll contact my salesman. The memory seats were not a selling feature for me anyways so if I dont have them on my SEL AWD I wont be upset.
  20. 1. Thanks for the info, i don't have this explanation on pg 149 of my owner guide. 2. The question is relevant to this thread as there are posts of button 1 and 2 but make no reference to where they are. I was searching on my drivers seat for them so this clears it up for all instead of someone having to search another thread. 3. It looks as though the memory seat option is available on the limited and above only. Can anyone confirm this please as my salesman told me that I should have this option on my SEL AWD. Can someone please confirm where exactly on the instrument panel these buttons are located? Thanks.

  23. At least you got 3 weeks out of it. I never got one day. And i've been trying to have mine fixed now for 6weeks. Absolute b/s! I wanna get the press involved and bring some bad attention to these guys so they start doing something to the customers they are screwing over.
  24. In Canada you can get the remote start (drivers entry package) on an SEL model, you dont need to spend the extra on a limited if you dont want to. I have an AWD SEL with drivers entry package. It has ush button start and remote start. I liek the fact that i never have to take the keys out of my pocket. BUT please be warned of my issues. Very unique, but hopefully no one else gets this problem that has persisted since day 1 and now 1.5months later they are still trying to fix it : KEY fobs not working Once they finally get it all fixed, it will be great to have in colder climate and def worth the extra money. I Wont buy a new vehicle without remote start ever again.
