  1. I dropped mine off at the service department today. (08 with 3000 miles). The noise from the brakes has gotten so loud I scared a pedestrian.
  2. ... and akirby once again defends retarded dealer pricing with no facts.
  3. Just some notes on the X-Plan having just spent a lot of time researching it and using it for a purchase... 1. X-Plan doesn't mean a good price -- just a fixed price. I (or anyone really) was able to negotiate under X-Plan pricing even on an 08 pre-order. I got an X-Plan quote from one dealer, showed it to another and he offered me $150 below the X-Plan price. 2. The X-Plan can become a good deal if there is a particular incentive at the time of purchase you can apply on top of X-Plan. In that regard it's better to use X-Plan rather than just a negotiated deal if you foresee using any lease incentives or discounts. 3. The X-Plan calculators and sample invoices from Ford sites are deceiving. "Invoice" includes non-invoice items like regional advertising fees. 4. Remember when you're buying a Ford edge you're buying a value car so treat it like a commodity purchase. Buying a Lexus where you get service loaners, a very well built car with high residual values, and a glossy broshure from a suited salesman that must have cost $15 to print, will be quite different than your Ford purchase. My point is that your bottom line purchase price is probably all that matters because it's a commodity. 5. The X-Plan beats the Coscto plan by a huge margin. In fact the Coscto plan is really, really bad and should never be used.
  4. Ordered an 08 a few weeks back: Copper/black Sync (reason I waited for 08) Limited AWD Moon roof Navigation 18" (can't do 20" with the very rough gravel roads I drive on) Sirius (although I'll not keep this after the trial runs out) Aftermarket I bought the Weathertech liners and I have a hitch and bike rack on order. I had the GM write an additional line on the contract so I could opt out with no costs if delivery didn't happen by the end of Nov. My assumption is that I'll see the car by year-end but I won't sign contracts with no end date -- especially considering how long the 07 was delayed.
  5. My 2008 order says "Priority: 15" - how bad is that?
  6. Ordered mine yesterday. I suppose I could try for '3DG3'
  7. A couple questions... the White Sand cost surprises me. Is that particular paint color an extra charge? Also, your prices look to be exact MSRP pricing. I assume that's the case? Cheers, Macaw
  8. Well now I know to purchase that option and Ebay it! That's a helluva markup.
  9. It is included with the limited but a comprehensive list would still be cool to have.
  10. One other thought... isn't it interesting how small the margin between "invoice" and MSRP has become? It's now under 6% and I remember it being closer to 20%. I suppose it speaks to how commoditized cars have become and maybe how silly the term "invoice" has become.
  11. Akirby if I could gently disagree. The pricing is a formula so you should be able to add things up and indeed they do add up - and by adding it up you can see FDAF is an additional charge to the invoice pricing. My example: $30,134 base + $3329 options + $15.05 gas + $443 FDAF + $705 delivery = $34,626.05 $34,626.05 * 4% + $75 = $34,562.55 x-plan price The X-Plan price on my invoice exactly matched the calculation above. My point earlier was that you need to throw in gas, FDAF, and delivery if you want to be able to calculate X-Plan. To say X-Plan doesn't include extra charges is a bit misleading because, in my mind at least, FDAF is an extra charge. BTW I'm not making any judgements on the value of the deal. It certainly beats Costco but then again the deal is pretty easy to calculate as well. In my case it would be: 5.8% cheaper than MSRP and 0.2% cheaper than "paying invoice" -- which you can usually pay with or without a plan. That doesn't account for any rebates or deals that might come up during the transaction though.
  12. Invoice prices AWD Limited Base $30134 FWD Limited Base $28,525 Panoramic Roof $1186 Nav System $1696 Int Appearance Package $447 Rear Lift Gate $417 20" Wheels $761 Sirius Radio $166 Rubber Mats $47 Trailer Tow Package $336 Cargo Mgmt System $55 Sync $395 Would be interesting to know the other base model prices if anyone can post them...
  13. My question is: does X-Plan always include the advertising charge? The posts above indicated it did not.
  14. I got a quote today but didn't buy because the salesman said he didn't know what the "FDAF Assessment" was and I told him I wanted to go find out what it was first. Invoice pricing: Edge AWD Limited $30,134 Panoramic Roof $1,186 Nav System $1,696 Int Appearnace Pkg $447 (the two-tone seats) Gal Gas $15.05 FDAF Assessment $443 Delivery $705 ------------------------ Total $34,626.05 A/Z Plan $33,254.30 D Plan $33,354.30 X Plan $34,562.55 So X-Plan is getting charged for Gas, FDAF, and Delivery while the other plans seem to escape those charges. Everyone else seeing the same?
  15. I heard the detailed pricing was released today for the 08. Anyone have it and can post?
