  1. I have a '07 MKX and mine acts the same way. The seat feels pretty good, more towards the legs, but I don't feel anything on my lower back. I'm not 100% sure how it's designed to work and it still feels OK so I just figured I'd be living with it. Plus my warranty expired in May and the first time I ever tried them was just last week (purchased 09/2010) when the temp went into the 100's.
  2. I'l answer the bit I know - hopefully someone can shed more light on other questions. I purchased a '07 MKX so I can tell you a few things from my perspective. The changes between 07 and latter years include; 1) Sync didn't start until '08 & it's standard from that point on from ny knowledge. 2) Differences to the navigation unit from year to year. For example my 07 w/o Sync has an iPod input but no controls available at the headunit. They get better each year. 3) Interior modifications past 07 include better looking seat trim, change in the color of the interior switches, a handle above the passenger door (drives my wife nuts that it's missing from ours), hooks in the cargo area, and the blind spot mirrors (not sure what year that started). 4) Exterior modifications past 07 include the Lincoln badge on the front fenders, chrome door handles, and the ability to get 20" rims. To my knowledge HID's are available on some models but I do not know which/how to get. The reason I know they had them was I've seen them for sale on e-bay & I was looking at swapping mine out. I have FWD so the PTU isn't an issue to me. The only other issue I've had is a few months ago the ingnition switch locked up and the key wouldn't turn. Had to be towed in and switch replaced. I also stayed away from the panoramic roof because of some of the issues I've read. Most people love them though it seems. I personally don't care so it worked out for me. Personally if you're looking for the first gen styling I would recommend starting at '08. Oh, and if you want the cargo management system then get it with the vehicle. I thought since it was only a $65 option that it would be cheap to add on since mine didn't have. Nope. It's expensive to add on after the fact. Best of luck!
  3. Maybe someone on here that has this could take some detailed pictures for you. I saw a picture of one on e-bay the other day but now I can't find it anywhere. Here's what I found on-line that helps a bit.
  4. +1. I recently bought an '07 MDX that didn't come w/ the cargo management system. I figured since was originally a $65 option that it would be a cheap add on. Was I wrong - the only way I found to get it is to buy the OEM pieces and then it turns into a $250 item. Some may be in salvage yards but I haven't found any yet (though I haven't search too much).
  5. Man, Sesame Street is getting to be a tough place to live! I'd see where Oscar the Grouch was at Seriously though, sorry about your Edge. I've been broken into a few times over the years so I know it's no fun.
  6. Wow. Now I'm really glad I didn't consider a Journey while looking. I'm betting you love the Edge. We bought our MKX because we've had our Lincoln Zephyr for almost four years & had one issue with the steering that was fixed per a TSB. Other than that it's only been oil changes - the best overall vehicle I've owned.
  7. Congrats. The first two items I ordered for mine were the cargo liner & bumper protector. The other item I miss from my Lexus RX300 is the the retractable cargo shade. I have an employee that just loves her '09 Journey. I believe she has around 25k on it & the only thing I know of that needed work was side view mirror had to be resprayed after the paint stripped during a high power wash - I understand that is a known problem w/ that model. Not a big fan of it personally - she spent some time trying to talk me into one when I was looking but it wasn't for me. However I really liked the cargo storage areas.
  8. LOL because I was thinking you should go first It's looking doubtful that I'll try this fall. I'm thinking this may be more of a spring project. However if/when I try I'll be back w/ information & pictures.
  9. Yeah, I was thinking about the possibility of swapping out the entire trim also as a 'worst case scenerio'. Wouldn't like the idea of the total cost though. Here are pics from a '07, '08 and '09. The '07 and '08 are easeir to compare since they were taken from close to the same angle (black seats = '07 & tan seats = '09). The '08 pic is the one you can see the door. If they're not the same size then they're really close - but like you said the only possitive way is to personally compare. Thanks for the link to the cheaper sills.
  10. I thought that picture looked bigger also but if you look at the installation guide it does look like it's smaller (though it is a drawing). What I found (and I would suggest double checking everything) is that the part numbers for the oem sill area are the same from 07-09 (I didn't check 2010). Therefore unless there's a total curve ball anywhere, the illumated sill should, in theory, work ok. Also if you look at the pics for all the years you'll see the oem sill plate is the same size/style. My guesses are: Either there could be a slight wiring difference where the installer would have to think outside the box to get hooked up, or the oem sill was redesigned in '08 & the part guides only list the redesign part number for all years. If I get serious I'll pull the sill area and sill if the metal plate is clipped in per the installation instructions. I would prefer to find someone w/ an '08 and pull to compare but I don't have that option.
  11. I found the installation instructions here: http://www.lincolnaccessories.com/GfaWeb/techSpecs.do Then enter: Selet Type = Installation Instructions Select Description = Interior (sills) or Electronics (light kit) Choose Catagory = Trim (sills) or Lamps, Lights, and Treatments -- Truck (light kit) You can see the parts by clicking on 'Home' and using the selection process to find the accessory you want. I used the model year of '09 instead of '07. The bad news is I haven't been able to find any quality pics of an install or final product so it's really hard to determine if it's worth the $.
  12. I'm the opposite from most as I wanted nothing to do with the Vista Roof. I had a Lexus RX for the past 5 years and I think I opened my shade a hand full of times & maybe opened the roof all the way two or three times. I also wanted the stability/sound quality of a solid roof. We have a SLK for when the weather is really nice & my wife has a sunroof in her Zephyr. If the MKX was our only vehicle then maybe I'd have a different opinion.
  13. I bought the OEM cargo liner & I can say that anything is probably better than what I got. I wouldn't recommend the OEM product but it'll have to do for me right now. Can't answer about the mats. I'm looking also for a '07 MKX & will probably go with WeatherTech DigitalFit - something that doesn't seem to be available for the '11 Edge/MKX yet.
  14. I think I have my answers. I found the installation instructions for both the illuminated sills & the interior lighting kit. From what I can tell they can both be installed in the '07 MKX. If/when I install I'll come back and post information & pics for future reference.
