  1. My old 2001 Corvette had a 350 with 350HP and on the freeway I averaged 33MPG. City driving I got 26MPG.

Very easy to do with the correct gearing, at 70MPH I was at 1100 RPM.

I haven't seen any claims of +40 mpg, that would be simply amazing. Most reviewers are pegging the mileage in the low 30's, which is still phenomenal for a 300+ HP motor. Can you imagine our Dad's big block V8's pulling that off! :)

    Here's a link I found, http://green.autoblog.com/2010/03/04/2011-ford-mustang-v6-gets-31-mpg-highway-first-ever-for-300-hp/

  2. Yep these people work at these oil change places for a reason, cause they cant get a job at a real repair facility.

I stopped going to them years ago when I owned my 1992 Mustang GT.

The 1992 5.0 had 2 drain plugs. I was under the car doing some maintenance when I noticed how filthy my front drain plug was and how clean my rear plug was. I cleaned off the front plug and applied a strip of paint on it to see if gets removed during the next oil change. After the oil change I pulled out and parked in the lot and looked under my car and sure enough the front plug was never removed to drain the oil out. I went to the Manager and had him question the employee who did my oil change and he insisted he removed the plug so I made him and the manager look under my car and the Manager fired him on the spot for lying to me and to the Manager.

I never went back and stayed away from these places.

I can understand why people use these places but for a few $$ more you can have the dealer change the oil and know it was done right 99% of the time, I have known dealers to blow engines too.

  3. Turn your heat or A/C on at home, now stand in front of the vent.... notice how hot/cold the air is? No go stand in the middle of the room.... you cant feel the air blowing anymore but your house is at a constant temp.

This is exactly how the cars climate control works but it is a smaller more compact version of your home system so that is why you can feel the difference easy.

  4. My 1998 Windstar has has been reporting mileage that has been increasing, funny how it has been sitting at the dealer in the same spot since October and it has no way to contact Ford by its self!

This is just an mileage estimate calculator that is on the Ford Website.

My 2011 Edge has been doing this too and I do not have the SYNC radio, just the base CD player radio I have.

  5. And that is where it ends.

Mustang is not front wheel drive so the Exhaust would never match up since the Edge engine is sideways.

'11 Edge Sport and '11 Mustang V6 both have the same motor, HP, Torque, and are true dual exhaust.

  6. Says Ford, call them if you do not believe me. I was told several times by my dealer when I brought my vehicle in for service.

I have had a rental since mid October for my Windstar too, still driving the rental for free.

  7. I have the famous 10S13 Windstar axle recall. I didnt need any letter cause my Van fell in between the dates the recall was given. You can call any dealer and give them your VIN and see if there is a recall and get the work done with out any letter. My van was already sitting at the dealer getting inspected with no letter in hand.

This would be the same info for the Edge, just call Ford with a VIN and you can get it fixed with no recall letter if it has been recalled.

How do you know you're affected by the recall if you didn't get the letter?

  8. Thanks, this is good to know for future reference!

Not a guess a fact ,If you have non heated mirrors you would have a 4pin and if you had heated mirrors and seat memory puddle lamps you would have an 8 or 11 pin.

You can check by pulling off the sail on the door and unplug the mirror

  9. Drone is a noise that gets into your head at certain RPM's and makes you want to scratch the middle of your Brain with a Coat Hanger through your Nose just to kill the Drone sound.

I do agree with Borla and Corsa.

However we do not own a Mustang so why even post about installing Mustang Exhaust?

  10. Well when it is on fire grab the Marshmallows and take pictures for us.

I just received a letter from Ford.......for recall 10S14 and 10B20 (both Body Computer).

I DON'T want to take my Edge to a dealer..... :(

I bought it to drive and use it, NOT to have it sit in a dealership.

  11. So what was the year of the last Nissan you owned, I bet it had the electronic power of a Calculator compared to cars nowadays?

    Sigh,

Just received the letter telling me my car may catch fire. The letter says it should take 1/2 day to fix. But later in the letter, if you read between the lines, Ford says they can't really say how long the fix will take.

Plus a second letter saying some software needs changed and requires me to schedule a second appointment at the dealer too.

Owned four Nissans with zero recalls in the last 30 years. Finally went back to an American car company and now 2 recalls in the first month??!!

    Not an optimistic relationship,

    Amy
