Got my recall notice, as well as a "Customer Satisfation" fix to the Sync Navigation System. Dealer says the first issue would be to verify that my BCM (Body Control Module) needs the upgrade by examination and test. Not all the BCM's have this fix needed, They will give me a rental car while it is being repaired. The "Sync fix" is a software update, is not covered by a rental car, but wouuld be if both fixes are on the same day. Schedule your appointment. Notice, one can read "Customer Satisfaction" as "we are getting too many complaints, and bad press than normal" The Tiger

Just received what Ford says is a "Customer Satisfaction Program" #10B20, for the Snyc, along with a Recall 10S14 regarding replacement of a "Body Control Module". :fan: Have to follow up when I know the details. Tiger

Thanks, but it isn't listed. I have found the location and driving directions on "Google Maps", it is accurate, and it's free!!! Now, how can I get the very expensive Navigator to use this information? Tiger

My 2011 Edge is two weeks old, and I cannot seem to set a navigation location in a large, stand-alone shopping mall that I am actually at. While I can get the map coordinates, I cannot set a destination. It REQUIRES a street name and street address, and there is none! This is typical of many large shopping center that are stand-alone. They do NOT have a postal address, a store may have one, but it is not where the location is. What do I do? Especially, what do I do if it is out of town? The Tiger

EdgieGuy, Thank you for trying to be helpful. So many replies, to my request for knowledgeable help, treated it as a joke. I did try searching the site, with no luck! Unfortunately, there is no one at the dearlership that has, or even claims to have, any knowledge about the new 2011 system. (which I think actually has some recall about it.) AND, I apologize if the site's "Emoticons" did not appear as pictures in the post. Maybe something is wrong. And to the worry warts, Your space program is not in jeopardy. Still trying to find someone at the dealership that knows the new SYNC and NAV protocol, and is available to teach it to a customer who just bought a 2011 Edge. , and can help with operating 2011 Edge features. They insist that "it doesn't take a rocket scientist", and they are correct! I AM a rocket scientist (really), and don't understand what they are trying to say in the manual. :violin: That Navigator Map is a PITA. :wacko: I think I have every option they offer, but still need a GOOD cargo shield, and (perhaps) a running board for my 102 year old mother. I returned the "POS":fan: they sold me as a cover, and tried to get the "window shade roll-up" that they stopped selling, or won't fit the Edge. Tired of "Chasing the Dog"! Anyone know ho to get help for a cash purchaser? I am about to call the Agency(s) owner!

Choff1138, Thanks for your reply. However the 2011 Edge seats fold forward to make a larger capacity, and do not appear to adjust backwards. I just measured the Edge room, and it appears to be 48 inches wide, and 28 inches long. The POS you can buy from Ford is just that. There is one pictured for the Escape P/N 4L2Z-7845440-AAB, FOR $118. Looks trim, neat, and pulls back on a "window shade" type roller. Can find NO measurements, but this looks neat. No dealer has one in stock, and no idea of the dimensions for measurement check. I purchased one, as well, it it wants to fight the cargo net for those same rear hooks! I have seen one for the Ford Explorer 5 passenger of the "window shade" mount. A lot neater then the one offered for the Edge and is usually offered (retail/Amazon) for about $118. Don't know if the interior dimenensions of the Edge and Explorer are the same. The Tiger

Good Luck! If you find one (What happened to "Clymer" ?) If you find one, give it to your dealers shop. They don't really seem equipped for this ! Maybe, if you find one, it will help you set-up all those features we are trying to use. On a GOOD side, I just walked into the car. with a 6 year old Motorola cell phone with "voice dial", and it just "sucked in" all the data and can dial hands free and in your purse or pocket. The iPhone 3 and it did the same thing. Now I can voice dial - when it wouldn't do this in my hand!!! Now, if only I could figure out the Navigation. Seems only to accept street addresses, and won't give you any guidance when my cel phone app "Where's My Car" let's me "drop a flag", name it, and a voice command sets your route, to your "pin" at your destination. If you go there often, you would want a simple destination name for all the input one might need. Tiger

Just acquired the Ford Edge SEL. Find that I, and my 102 year old mother, need a front entry/exit assist. The one that I have is on the rear of the entry, and takes a contortionist to use it. Is there any accessory "grab handle" for the front passenger to use with their right hand, and the driver with his left hand, without needing to be a contortionist? It could be on the windshield pillar, or on the top forward side window frame. Anyone with luck using Ford X-over, or other product, that could be put on without damage to safety bag equipment?
